Hotel Serena    

Decor was beautiful vintage with a nice bathroom, always a plus! 2 mins walk from train station and hop on hop off bus tour. Fantastic breakfast too :)

The location was fantastic. We arrived by train, did an on and off bus ticket for the days we were there and a trip to Pompeii--everything revolved around the train and we were literally a block away. Lots of restaurants on the same block, a great bakery right down the street, good breakfast in the hotel daily.

The beds were rock hard!

Staff were excellent, breakfast was great, very comfortable hotel, close to transport to see all the sights, even walking distance to most sights.

1) The hotel is just a few blocks from the Termini train station. We took express train from the airport to Termini and then just walked to our hotel. Also took the subway from Termini to the Vatican, which was also very easy. 2) Within 1 mile of the Colosseum, Forum, Parthenon, etc. City was very easy to navigate on foot from the hotel. 3) Breakfast included 4) Free Wi-Fi

Good location

The Temini station district is quite dangerous in the evenings- I would not recomment to come back late alone. A bit far away from the city centre, however if you are ready to walk on foot this hotel will br just fine.

The hotel worth the money we've paid. It is rather clean, breakfast is not the best, but enough to be full (especialy if you like buns). Important advantage - free wi-fi in all areas. The location is good -Termini in 3-5 minutes, Colesseo is in 20 minutes walking.

The street is not clean and full of guest workers (it is another side of hotel's location near Termini), the next door - sexshop (a lot of "different" people near it). Very noisy. We woke up at 7.00-7.30 a.m. because of the drums and screams outside. Generally speaking the disadvantages are not so big, taking into account that the hotel is rather cheap for Rome.

Great hotel! Nice rooms, very clean and on perfect location just a 200m walk from Termini Station.

The irritating sales guys in front of the hotel, which jump on you if you directly at the first step outside the hotel.

- Room was a bit hot - Air conditioning was not available during the time we were staying (late April) - We had to open window, and our room was facing the street, so a bit noisy from restaurant/music below, but not so bad

Very convenient for Termini station and some tourist sites. No need to use a taxi to get to it. Somewhat delightfully old fashioned with lift to take one up to the bedrooms. Good breakfast

Lift broke down with no real offer of help from staff to bring luggage down from the 5th floor.

Reakky excellent location in terms of siteseeng and shopping.

The Hotel blocked 90 euro from my card, then unblocked them but they still not appeared on my account.

The staff on reception were great. They advised on trips out, particularly on transport; the best bus or metro routes.

The coffee at breakfast

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location of hotel was perfect...near most of tourist attractions, Termini, metro/tram and hop on hop off bus. Relatively quiet place despite being near the Termini. Cappuccino/coffee at breakfast was lovely, but the rest are pretty basic. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

The only downside issue to the hotel is its surrounding environment which is frequented by casual vendors and a few bystanders, especially at night. However, we do understand that it has nothing to do with the hotel itself and it is inherent to the kind of location, which is a very busy commercial district, not to mention that Rome is a very metropolitan and vibrant city. Nevertheless, it is still relatively safe in the general area of the hotel despite its central location.

This hotel is nice and in the good location for travelling and city tour. Hotel surrrounding is good. Hotel staffs are friendly.

Clean, comfortable, (especially the bed) modern, nicely decorated facilities coupled with pleasantly old-fashioned appearance. Just a few minutes from main railway station (Termini), but street isn't noisy at night.

It is all about the location. It is two minutes away from Station Termini and from Santa Maria Maggiore. In our second day, we walked to trevi fountain and spanish steps in a matter of one hour. (Even though it is our first time their). And on top of all that, is less expensive compared to other hotels in the same area.

Queen size bed is two single beds pushed together. Elevator was not working in one day and we lived in the fifth floor. Breakfast is average.

It was 2 streets from the train station and the bus from the airport drops you right there. No need to take the train into Rome.Marco the gentleman at the front desk was fantastic.He explained where all the main sights were,how to get there and places to see that most tourists would not think of going.Lots of places to eat on the same street.It is walking distance to many historical sights.The breakfast is good,but not a hot breakfast.The bathroom was very clean and well stocked.

The room did not have a clock and the T.V. had only one English station.The room is small,however it is laid out very well and works for 2 people in the room.There is not much to complain about.We had to leave 2 days before our reservation was up and still paid the entire amount plus do not forget you have to pay the City tax in cash before you leave.

Well-situated-just a step from Terrmini station. Huge variety of Tavernas/Restaurants on the doorstep-and they stay open late. You might miss the Hotel entrance if you hadn't remembered it was No. 74. Many hotels nearby too and 3 in the same building. Serena gave the impression of being well-managed, was clean throughout with lots of nice marble. My bedroom was a double but used as a single: it was on the small side but it was fine and there was a good shower/room with all the facilities. I was on 4th floor which was quiet. Very comfortable bed. The older-type lift was quiet and worked noiselessly every time. Breakfast was fine and everything laid out though I would have liked a few more savoury items and not so much sweet. And a little more variety of fresh fruit.

Breakfast items were just a bit too sweet for me. Having to pay for a double-but this is always the case when one travels alone.

Manager/reception very helpful with suggestions

The hotel was very clean. We didn't need to ask for new towels or to clean our room - it was always done on time in perfect order. The room was not big but very convenient and nice - everything was new. The location was very good: metro lines and most of the buses arrive at Termini station - which is just minutes away from the hotel. Moreover, there are shuttles from both airports to Termini station which was very convenient.

Couldn't figure out how to operate an AC.
