Park Hotel CarrubellaCorso Umberto I, 233 - Monreale, 90046 Monreale (Show map) Good, Score from 155 reviews“Fantastic views, friendly staff, relaxing stay close to Palermo without the bustle of the city.”
Rob,
London
The hotel is situated at the top of a hill in the small settlement of Monreale, away Palermo, yet within easy access by bus to the city. The hotel is 3,500 ft above sea level, in a charming location overlooking the Conca d’Oro (the golden shell) famed for its large quantities of orange, almond and olive trees that adorn the surrounding countryside. Most rooms have a balcony or a terrace where you can enjoy a refreshing drink while you experience some breathtaking views of Palermo and the Sicilian coastline and breathe in the clean mountain air. The hotel is ideally situated for walking into Monreale or for a bus trip into Palermo; an attractive alternative to staying in the hustle and bustle of the capital of Sicily. Hotel Rooms: 30

This hotel is somewhat old-fashioned and its fittings are somewhat dated; no opulent luxury at this location. But it is superbly managed, which more than makes up for any deficiencies. It is located at the end of a very challenging (and long) street--one lane for two directions of traffic. Ample parking, once you reach it, but you'll think twice before driving out and back on a regular basis. Easy and pleasant walk into town, probably about a kilometer. Excellent breakfast. All told, excellent value. I'd stay there again; I'll recommend to friends.

It is located 10 minutes walk from Monreale Cathedral. The view over Palermo is breathtaking. Parking is ample and free. We went to see Palermo by bus and left the car at the hotel. Bus is only 1.30€ per person each way. The street to the hotel is rather narrow. Internet with wlan is available only in the main area, not in the room. The bed mattresses were not confortable, because the beds had old fashioned wire nets instead of the newer wooden slabs.

24 hour desk. Good breakfast. Location at top of mountain over looking Palermo. Very narrow, winding streets to navigate to reach the hotel. Was very difficult to get to due to pedestrians, cars and obstructions during the day.

Wonderful location just outside the hustle of Monreale but near enough to walk to the cathedral, the main local attraction. Great views over the valley and Palermo for breakfast.

The view from the breakfast room/lounge and the rooms on that side is truly spectacular. It really is only a short walk from the centre of . Proprietor is helpful and speaks several languages. Free parking is a bonus and it's 20 mins to the centre of Palermo by reasonably frequent bus. Decor is a bit old fashioned. It was hard to work out how to drive there, but this is a problem everywhere in Sicily!

The excellent view. The breakfast room is superbly designed with French windows leading to a beautiful covered terrace, where one could also breakfast, with a wonderful view.

The position 1000' above Palermo was spectacular. Breakfast was good with fresh ricotta part of the offerings every day. The hotel owner Armando and the two Robertos were very friendly and informative. Armando especially is very knowledgeable about Monreale and Palermo. Parking was excellent. The hotel is situated about 800 m from the center, which might be a problem for people not used to walking very far. We did it twice a day with no problems. The bus into Palermo is temporarily suspended. Talk to Armando for alternatives.

Good location for visiting Monreale. On cliff so nice views of Palermo and surrounding area Very hard to find Monreale turnoff in the dark from main road in Palermo - no signs apparent. Rescued by some friendly locals who showed us the way. Once on right street, hotel was ok to find but very narrow, steep and car lined streets in Monreale - beware if arriving in day.

the location of the Hotel with the wonderful view. Breakfast on the sunny terrace where whole Palermo is lying under your foot. The cleanliness of the room and the bath (especially the daily fresh towels wich are dried on the roofterrace). the narrow street what leeds to the hotel with a bit to much traffic for me

If you don't want to stay in Palermo this is a good alternative. We left our car at the hotel and took a 20 minute bus ride into Palermo. The location is great and the view from the hotel is outstanding. The room is modest but comfortable. Breakfast is good and the staff friendly. There are some beautiful pieces of art in the lobby and dining room. The hallways and other areas are a bit run down.

very convenient for the cathedral & for the bus to Palermo to see its sights & for pizza in the square in Monreale. The room had a small balcony with great views. The keys are hard to use to open the room door.

The view over Palermo Harbor was magnificent, both from my room and the breakfast room/terrace. The host greeted us warmly, helped us make dinner reservations in town, and laid out a breakfast buffet that included good pastries, good Americano coffee and heated milk, ham and cheese with so-so bread. The grounds are landscaped with beautiful, healthy succulents. The host allowed us to leave our car in his parking lot until we were ready to leave Monreale at 3 in the afternoon. Terrific value for the off-season tariff of about 80 euros double. If you are afraid of driving in very tight streets, often facing opposing traffic with few places to turn off, this is not for you. Park somewhere else and take a taxi to this otherwise delightful hotel. The shower was a tight fit in the corner of the bathroom, but the water was hot and consistent.

Slendida posizione e ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo. Ambiente confortevole e ricco di atmosfere e particolari dell' antica sicilia ( pavimenti e pannelli in maiolica dipinti a mano). Abbondante la prima colazione, con prodotti locali. Staff molto cordiale e disponibile.
