Really nice people, the staff was helpful in any needed way. The room was clean and beds comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning on the terrace in the sun is always a nice idea. Free pc, wifi, all needed info. Cool!
Clean, comfortable, good for a family. Staff were incredibly lovely and helpful.
Maybe a little boring for a solo traveller. Quiet and not much around. Pre do your shopping before arriving. Also far out from the city which is difficult if you are travelling alone.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Since I was staying there for a week, I was upgraded to a smaller room than what I had booked. That was a very pleasant surprise:) I liked a typical Italian breakfast served at the hostel.
The hostel is not at the city centre, so I had to take a bus to and from Siena (but that is a very short ride, 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the line you use)
This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in, really clean, good helpful staff, comfortable rooms (then again I stayed in a single room). Really good value for money, quite good breakfast, very clean. Shared bathrooms are clean, not too busy in my experience (several showers and toilets in each). To get good wifi you had to go to the common areas but it worked fine. Really lovely patio where you could have your breakfast, the cheap but good food they sell or your own.
Really far from train station, they should send an email before your arrival to explain what to do when you get off the train. I went walking with all the heat to get there at 2 p.m. and they told me I had to wait till 3 to have my room... A while later I was waiting for the check-in time to come, when three girls arrived to the reception and the girl at the reception attended to them before me. I don't like to sound whiny but it really was quite annoying (she spent 30 minutes giving them explanations about the city... a little bit too much for me to wait knowing I had been waiting for an extra hour before that, no?) Otherwise excelent place, the girl at the reception only was triying to be of help to her other customers (not so much to me, I guess, haha).
I like that breakfast was included and it was good quality too. Bread rolls, pastry, cereal, coffee etc. I was upgraded to a smaller room than what I booked for. And the staff were really helpful in providing directions to the city centre. Good wifi.
It wasn't near the main part of Siena so you had to catch a bus.
Very good breakfasts and kind staff! Everything other too :) Optional and helpful shuttle to the train station.
The hostel was only an hours walk to town and 1/2 h to the train station. Also had bicycles to hire.
The staff were very kind and helpfull, the breakfast was good, the room was very simple but clean, showers were clean.
it was a bit far from centre
nice cummunity dinner (for 5€)
no kitchen for self-cooking
We've reserved the room but there were some problems so the reservation was cancled. But the man at the reception helped us so much and he was sooooo nice! The breakfast was also good and the price was not that expensive. We had good time in Siena and the hostel.
Friendliness, helpfulness, croissants at breakfast, dinner if wanted, shuttle on weekend, layout of dorm gave space and privacy. When I had a comment about the shower area it was immediately cleaned. The wifi was strong and consistent but only in the common areas.
Nothing really. The Hostel is being worked on and my comments about hooks etc. were appreciated and will be acted upon.
Staff was kind and the room condition was exceptional; clean and spacious!
I couldn't find any.
good food, excellent staff, clean room, perfect shuttle service
location is far from city centre.
Everyone was very nice and friendly. Clean rooms, and clean bathrooms. Enough spaces in the bathroom so I had never had to wait for taking a bath.
Very comfy and clean,if provided shuttle to downtown or siena train station would be perfect.
it is not clean in bathroom!!
The breakfast was delicious with fresh croissants baked on site. Seriously they were better than the ones we had in Paris. Plenty of cereal, freshly brewed coffee, and juices. The staff were really helpful and friendly and gave us heaps of tips for where to go and what to see throughout Tuscany. The rooms were comfortable and clean and extremely sound tight, which we all know is priceless in a hostel. WIFI was fast and strong. All in all we had a great stay.
There is no savoury option for breakfast, so if you don't like sweet breakfast...
Common areas are great. Staff is friendly. Beds are clean and comfortable... Best of all were the croissants in the morning
Wi fi does not work well in the rooms. In my floor, only 3 showers and 2 were out of service.. Quite far from city center.
The staff is so friendly and helpful!! They are having some construction, so the room wasnt the best, but i would love to come back when they finish. They have a little dog there as well wich i fell in love with! The bus leaves right outside, and the city is really beautiful!
- Cheap prices. We had a twin room all to ourselves for €41.40. Usually, you would pay a lot more for a private room in a hostel in Europe. - Common areas were huge and well furnished with multiple couches, a table & chairs and vending machines. Each floor had it's own common area. - Tasty breakfast. There were croissants, donuts, bread, rolls, cereal, orange juice and a cappuccino. On the breakfast counter, there was a book with all of the breakfast items they served and a recipe list with the ingredients of each product. I think they might have made the products themselves. They even served me gluten free products from the supermarket, which I thought was VERY thoughtful. As a celiac, that was my first experience with a proper gluten free breakfast in a European hostel. - Helpful staff. On check in, we were welcomed by a lovely woman who instantly recommend places of interest, restaurants, the nearest supermarket, etc. - Bathrooms were large and clean. - Large fridge available in the main common room. - Beautiful deck out the front and space around the back in the gardens with colourful seating.
- Location was quite far out of town. We made the mistake of walking from the train station with our wheeled packs. There are certain parts of the road where there is no footpath & it can be quite dangerous, but we managed in the end. While the location may seem a 'con', the hostel staff try their best to compensate. They offer a bus service anywhere in the city for only €2, all day and night. We asked for a lift and were whisked into the mini bus within 2 minutes. Brilliant service! - Heat. We stayed at the Siena Hostel in early July & it was very muggy, even at night. There was no fan or air conditioning in our room, but there was a large window with shutters that completely opened. We would have been fine to leave the window open all night, except that there was large tiered scaffolding directly outside our window and it would have been possible for someone to climb up from the outside. - No cooking facilities, which made it difficult to stick to our budget, as we usually try to cook our meals to save money. - Poor wifi connection in our room. Better signal in the common areas.
Rooms, staff, Breakfast, tidiness
Distance is a bit far away from city centre. Too far away to walk, need to take bus.
good place to stay, very very nice staff, helpful staff, just a second to bus station and the center is only 8 mn. by bus. price for the place is good enough , clean rooms, i think its a good place to stay
Very friendly and helpful staff, very willing to assist with information re sightseeing, etc. Espresso coffee machines for good coffee and a very decent breakfast is provided. Clean and comfortable bed. Wifi was good in common areas but feeble signal in the bedroom. Would definitely stay again and can recommend to others.
Undergoing renovation but was very minimal impact on our stay. Only two showers with no hanging space other than a hook outside. I guess the renovations will improve this aspect. Very enjoyable stay otherwise.
The staff was very nice and the breakfast was amazing!
There was construction going on, so there were men on scaffolding outside my room working very loud quite early in the morning. Also, the room was very hot and there was no a/c.
