The hotel was on the other side of the river from the city, close enough, just 5 mins walk, but nice and quiet in the evening. In a really old building, very quaint, breakfast terrace was lovely (smell from jasmine bushes was magnificent). A few close restaurants/bars if you have walked yourself out in the day and don't want to go too far in the evening. Private parking in hotel garage available. This is an absolute necessity if you have a car. Not so much the hotel, but getting to is by car was a nightmare. This is a problem of the city, not the hotel. Many of the streets were closed to cars during the day, meaning you have to pick your way thru the city, using streets without restrictions. I went round and round. Couldn't really work out why some of the streets restricted, cos many cars just using these streets. Eventually, I found my way and my car was thankfully taken off to private hotel garage. Hotel parking absolute must!! If you are driving. Beware that driving is very hard in Florence, to get into the city and to get out. Hotel parking facilities were great!

A good, friendly, clean and comfortable hotel with a great location close to the city centre. Also with good parking which is what we needed. Parking is not free but even with this included, we thought it was great value, in total, for a hotel in this location. Breakfast on the open terrace was great. Recommended.

We really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming, always looking to make our stay as relaxing as possible, just what one expects from the hospitality business. Great location as we walked everywhere and a terrace for breakfast and afternoon drinks. Decor a little dated but too minor a point compared to how great our stay was.

Very friendly and accomodating staff. NIce terrace over-looking the river Arno. Nice position, being just across the river from the main attractions while being a little more quiet for rest and sleeping. In-room facilities could have been improved. Just small things like tea and coffee making facilities, perhaps an english TV channel such as Sky News and a trouser-press, would have greatly improved the experience.

A very nice, clean hotel in an excellent location, just five minutes walk from the City but in a peaceful and less crowded neighbourhood. A very good breakfast buffet and a pleasant roof-top terrace with bar.

The staff was excellent and the breakfast personnel friendly and gracious. It was great having a private place to park so near the hotel, and at a reasonable daily rate. Location in Florence was tops! The hotel is very easy to drive to, which means a lot in Florence.

Perfectly localized in the city. Charming old building, outside and inside. Friendly, helpful and well English speaking staff. Decent breakfast with enough time to eat even when you're coming towards the end of breakfast time. Relatively cheap public parking possibilities within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Nothing really to complain about, except maybe renovation work in the room above. Although it was low season and at some time they have to do it, they could have started a bit later in the morming, say at 10h.

Excellent location, the staff were very friendly, the room was clean and of a good size. Lovely continental breakfast in the morning to get you started (the ladies were very nice), free internet use in the reception area a bonus. Not such a great view from our back room and noise would come through into room if excessive. (these are minor points, overall a very decent hotel in a great location)

The staff were very professional and pleasant. The coffee is great. The rooms are clean and the water always hot. I'm sure in the warmer weather it would be even more enjoyable to have breakfast outside. The location is good, lots of places to eat nearby, and easy to walk to the center of the city. I think it's a little expensive but I've never stayed in an Italian city before.

“Rooms, specially the ones on the third floor which are newly refurbished, very modern and comofortable are highly recommended. The price was good and the service was great. Specially friendly was the attention of Guido at the front desk. He recommended us places to go, restaurants to visit in the area, etc. Buffet breakfast was included, it was ok but I have no complaints considering that you are paying a very good price for the accommodation!” Valeria, Cambridge |

“Friendly, helpful staff current in English. We loved the breakfast (included in the price) featuring local cold cuts and cheese, homemade pastry and bread, different types of cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and of course capuccino. The room, minimalistic in design, offered a high quality (king!) mattress and a rather small bathroom with a tiny shower (did not impact too much on the very good stay we had there). Very clean! The hotel is located 10 minuteswalking distance from the Duomo and Plazza de la Signoria, 5 minutes from Santa Maria de la Novela and 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio. We highly recommend it for a short city trip. ” Mirela, East Greenwich |
