On the banks of the Arno River, La Scaletta is a 15th-century building located between Florence's Ponte Vecchio bridge and Palazzo Pitti.
Score from 676 reviews Excellent
The quality of the staff and level of service. Its location; away from the centre but close enough to walk in a few minutes.
The quality of sleep was only fair due to noise made by other guests.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, close to all key places. Reception Staff are extremely helpful and couldn't do more. The rooms were comfortable. Parking was easy in their lock up garage space. Local area great, All Pub One friendly and very reasonable, micro brewery, well recommended.
Our room was next to breakfast area and we were woken around 5-6am by clattering of crockery getting ready for breakfast. River view requests need to be 2nd floor or above.
Friendly hotel in a great location away from the crowds, next to excellent bars and restaurants in st niccolo.
Excellent breakfast buffet and cappuccino, lovely room, close to downtown - 25 min walk to the Accademia !! but out of the business of downtown and fairly easy to drive to, very kind and professional staff, comfortable beds, wifi good, beautiful period building...
Not a problem for us but had to carry suitcases up one set of stairs to get to elevator, also parking was tight but the staff were very willing to help with this, and also the security camera to the parked right by the desk was reassuring.
We needed a place to stay where we could park the car during our stay. The Hotel Silla ended up being the perfect choice! It was very comfortable and easy to walk to all the major sights. We didn't have to move the car our whole stay; just what we wanted! The continental breakfast was great too!
Helpful friendly staff. Excellent location and cleanliness of the room and facilities.
Prédio antigo, mas instalações bem funcionais e limpas! Café da manhã ao ar livre e relativamente bom, sem muitas frutas! Hotel bem localizado, próximo a Ponte Vecchio. Local agradável próximo ao Rio Arno e a noite nos fim de semana sem muito barulho externo. Old building but very functional and clean facilities! Breakfast outdoors and relatively good without many fruits! Hotel well located, near the Ponte Vecchio. Nice place near the River Arno in the evening and weekend without much external noise.
Extremely small fridge was not working the first day. Complained and was not given any kind of solution during the first day. On the second day we suggest a switch to the other apartment, which was then served. Safe with no key code. Possibility of loss of the same, it is necessary to take her with him to ensure the integrity and without warranty of having only one copy of this key.
Staff were very helpful, good location in a quiet area which was very close to the river. Great restaurants and gelato 5 minutes away. Breakfast was good. Very satisfied with Hotel Silla
Very good location - just a 5 minute walk over the bridge to the Uffizi. Clean with a lovely entrance courtyard and a tasty breakfast. Would recommend the ice-cream shop just along the road for some of the best ice-cream we had during our whole stay in Italy!
Nothing in particular which we didn't like, a good, solid three star hotel.
Location Friendly service Breakfast
Limited English speaking channels Low signal wifi in room
Location, spacious room,staff
Location was perfect. Close enough to easily walk to all the sights and the viewing point but on the quieter side of the river. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help.
Fantastic location where you can park the car and walk across the bridge to all the main attractions
We had to ask for the laptop, kettle, robes etc that came with our room and were told they had been too busy...this seemed to be the case in general with too few staff
Lovely hotel, well run and very helpful staff. Rest location, nice outside terrace for breakfast, decent quality breakfast. Good free WiFi.
Honestly didn't have anything to dislike about this hotel.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms with excellent wifi. We loved the breakfast courtyard and thought the location was great- a 5-10 minute walk from all the major attractions but removed from the throngs of tourists and noise.
Excellent location, very beautiful romantic area. Easy enough to find.
The bar closes at 8pm due to not enough staff, the breakfast is limited.
The location was very convenient for all the major sights of Florence but sufficiently far enough away from the very centre to avoid the noise and crush of peak season tourist throngs.
The Silla has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Arno and we experienced lovely warm weather during our stay but, we were disappointed not to be able to get a drink via the night porter to round off a perfect Tuscan evening out.
The hotel is a "little gem," in a quiet location just south of the river but within easy walking distance of sights in both the City Centre and Boboli Gardens. Was worth paying for the superior room with a view over river to the city roof tops. Liked the 'Roof Terrace'- wasn't warm enough for breakfast when were there, but lovely for relaxing & reading outside at end of day's sightseeing with free (albeit rather stewed) coffee to help ourselves to there. The breakfast offers a good selection for Italy. Hotel decor is a bit old fashioned, but has a certain charm, so would happily return. Tip- Well worth the walk up the hill behind to visit San Miniato al Monte church for its frescos, peaceful atmosphere and views.
Great location and very kind staff. Loved it!
The location was very nice overlooking the river and very convenient to buses and walking to the main sites in Florence. The outside terrace overlooking the river was especially enjoyable at the end of a day of site seeing. Breakfast was very good and the hotel service was excellent.
We had a nice room on the back side of the hotel opening to the back street. It was very noisy at night such that we could.not open our window. I would give location an excellent rating if not for the noise at night with window open. Closing the window shut out the noise very well
Great view of Arno and great location.
Our room was a significant distance from hotel entrance and other facilities.
location is great. Breakfast is good.
The location is good - all the sights and places of interest are in a short-walk distance. Besides, staying in Oltrarno you have a possibility to feel the atmosfere of Florence without crowds of tourists.
The room needed renovation, really. It was old-furnished. But to say the truth everything was very clean, which is nice. Breakfasts are not the ones to enjoy.
It is situated in a beautiful little town on the Adriatic coast near Ancona. The small but intimate hotel offered a warm welcome, out of season. We decided to stay for the night and to include dinner. What a gem!! our menu was more than we could have hoped for; wonderful plates of fresh baby clams, home made pasta, fresh anchovies, huge oven baked fish and so on....and all at a low cost! i wished we were staying longer.
There was nothing we didn't like!!
very good hotel would recommend it to anyone!
