Established in 1960, Hotel Mediterranée is in a peaceful area of Taormina's historical centre, 5 minutes' walk from Corso Umberto.

Score from 303 reviews Excellent
Just a 5-minute walk from Taormina’s Greek-Roman Theatre, Hotel Monte Tauro features panoramic views of Naxos Bay. It has a sea-view restaurant and a pool with hot tub.
Score from 192 reviews Very good
300 ft above sea level in Taormina, Meridiana Hotel has air conditioned rooms with sea views. Breakfast is served on a rooftop terrace overlooking Taormina.
Score from 71 reviews Very good
Location good for Taormina main centre, 10-mins walk. Good cable car 5-mins walk; goes down to main beaches. Set on hillside, with good views of distant sea/beaches/hills. Spacious room, very clean hotel. All staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast very good continental choice buffet, scrambled egg/bacon.
Parking very tight but well managed/monitored by hotel staff. Decent, down or up the entrance road to reception is pretty steep and around 45-metres. Could cause very elderly or infirmed a problem. Restaurant; tried once; meal a bit basic. Pool bar offered very limited snacks. Pool OK, but a little small if very busy. Premium prices paid for being in Taormina.
A good sized room with a large balcony and a stunning view along the coast . An easy walk to the centre of town and restaurants .
If you are coming by car the access ramp is a bit challenging .
Location. Cleanliness. Friendliness of most staff. Views. Wifi quality
Restaurant not being open when it says it is on the Internet. Meant a walk into town.
The location and the breathtaking view of the Taormina bay below. The breakfast was varied and included fruit and vegs. The staff was helpful. The stylish traditional interior design was quite interesting. The hotel was within a walking distance of Taormina centre (about 10 min to the Corso).
The very narrow parking space on top of the hotel meant that parking manoeuvres were extremely difficult (although a member of staff came over to help). For breakfast, we had to peel and slice our cucumbers and melon and cut our tomatoes (???) but otherwise the breakfast was varied, especially for Italian standards. The room itself was quite large and well equipped but somewhat shabby (e.g. a huge crack in the wall) and not quite clean (hairs in the shower cabin, on the bathroom walls, and on the top bed-sheet). The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable to our taste and we kept waking up during the night. It was also somewhat cold (November) although we had turned the heating on. Overall, good 1-night stop but rather overrated as a 4-star hotel.
The view, decor, style. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The 21st century has not arrive here. Had to crawl to find a socket for a smartphone. Very steep entrance - not for a mature couple. Prices in my opinion are high.
hand held shower and small bath
Location of thes hotel was excellent
Attitude of managerial staff. Not great value for money. Triple room cramped
Everything--location, facility, service, cuisine, garden, and views
We liked everything about this hotel. Great Breakfast. Room with balcony was awesome.....amazing view. Staff was the best and so eager to help with anything we asked.......suggestions of what to do and how to get to certain places. Great location.
The only slightly negative comment I would make is the shower was way too small.
Beautifully decorated, lovely gardens, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful views, reasonably priced dinners.
Access difficult for elderly or disabled and parking is a challenge and having to leave!
Bathroom was big enough with the tub. Breakfast was very good with many choices. It was nice to have parking even with 8€ per day. Wifi was efficient. Balcony was perfect since we are smoking. We tried the restaurant once for dinner. Food was delicious.
Beds were hard. Room was tiny.
Location: Breakfasts ok Pool & Pool Bar Bathrooms had everything we needed.
Décor a bit old and tired Steep driveway and steps down to hotel - hard to manage luggae. No aasistance outside bus hours. Wouldn't stay there again. Booked room in Jan 2014 arrived in Sep 2014 and room not available until following day due to hotel stuff up and placed in another room for 14 night - not an impressive start to stay.
Fantastic views over the surrounding hills and the beaches below. An old Saracen fort can be seen from the pool as you look to the surrounding hills. The waiters at breakfast and dinners were classic Italian, polished and efficient.
Staff friendliness Character of hotel Breakfasts Cleanliness of room Location near to bus station and all amenities
Bar disappointing No tea/coffee facilities in rooms
The porter was lovely. A really helpful and friendly man.
Receptionist looked my wife up and down as if she had just crawled out from under a stone. She was not friendly almost to a point where I was going to ask her was everything ok! I can't believe this hotel has received the reviews it has. It was outdated, tired looking and the breakfast was terrible. It was a hotel of stairs that qualified as a very expensive workout. Save your money and book somewhere deserving of a 4 star status.
On arrival at the hotel the staff were very welcoming and our room was excellent with a wonderful view. Breakfast selection was great and the breakfast team were very efficient and friendly. The pool area was good although the sun beds were a challenge. The pool side snacks were good and the pool attendants very helpful. Although We eat in on the first night we can't really comment about the restaurant food as we eat in town most evenings.
The walk from the hotel lobby to the main road was challenging to say the least. apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.
Location Amazing views Free upgrade to sea view room :) Varied breakfast buffet Lovely pool and sunlounger area Friendly helpful staff
Experienced some noise from other guests late at night and early in morning
Very comfortable bed. Quiet. Helpful staff. Near bus station and cable car down to beach.
We loved how they gave us breakfast when we had early check out. Really impressed with staff
No where to attach the shower head in the bath
Loved the decor which was antique and very old world. Loved the staff who were all so professional and obliging. Food was good quality. Room was good size and more than adequate. Hotel spotlessly clean throughout. We will definitely return to the Sirius hotel which is in a superb location in terms of access to the beautiful town of Taormina, bus station, cable car and stunning views We just loved the Sirius. We would highly recommend this hotel.
The ramp and steps which have to be negotiated to both access and leave the hotel....something really needs to be done to make access/exit easier. On departure our cases were taken to the hotel gates by car. Also the changing facilities, for guests departing the hotel on late flights, need to be improved. While we had access to the hotel facilities throughout the day of our departure, the only showering facilities are by the pool. The shower itself is located in a small room which also houses the only poolside toilet used by both men and women. This needs to be much improved for a 4* hotel
Beautiful location. Stunning views. Excellent service from staff especially at reception and room cleaner. Near proximity to town.
Car parking charge. Steep driveway to reception. Small choice of menu at poolside.
View, location, staff all wonderful.
Staff very friendly, room view, breakfast.
Pool Bar. Big choice but few items available.
The view, the staff (very friendly and helpful), the good size of the room and the bedding, the proximity of the city center
The shower, the very narrow parking, and the diner which was not up to expectations
View, breakfast, interior, campari at the pool
One morning waiting 15 min. for the staff to open the pool.
