Clean room Beautiful bathroom Friendly staff Good breakfast
Hotel is in good location. Walking distance of attractions The restaurant across the street is excellent, staff friendly
There was an annoying sound of an engine of some sort, perhaps the aircon of other rooms, as we turned our noisy aircon off. But it was sleep disturbing. A shame as it was otherwise a fine spot.
Good location. The rooms were very clean and staff was nice. Location is on a back street so you get the neighborhood feel. Nice!
Staff was not helpful with luggage or suggestions about restaurants or sightseeing trips.
Location-Not in the middle of attractions, but great neighborhood with excellent shops and restaurants. Wi-fi was free, but annoying to log into constantly. Rooftop is gorgeous at sunset. Staff was sufficiently helpful.
Got locked out of our room due to an issue with the lock, but staff was very nice about it and owner gave us a bottle of wine to make up for things. Bathroom is very small and the shower is almost impossible to turn around in. Need to put felt on bottom of desk chairs, too noisy.
Central hotel with good standard, helpful staff and clean.
Staff very helpful, rooms comfortable, breakfast staff polite.
Loud & inconsiderate guests talking in passageways after returning at night, waking other gusts up.
Amazing location. Loved the rooftop area.
Our room was quite small.
Very helpful desk staff.
7 am every morning the cleaners would drag buckets slam doors crash and bang around to the point i had to say something to one lady but made no difference the next morning. I don`t think i am a fussy light sleeper but the morning noise was horrible.
Rooms on the inside that backed up to the small court yard area were very quiet. The air-conditioning worked very well when it was needed.
One asked to be careful when exiting the front door. Before a quick step onto the street you half to look left and right or you might be hit by a passing taxi or scooter. Very narrow street
Good value especially for Rome. Clean and comfy tho small as is typical Italy... But the location is exceptional with nearby shopping, lots of excellent restaurants and sites in heart of Rome... Yet quiet:)
Bedroom size They charge us our credit card even before our arrival, never happened to us before, as we normally pay in cash.
I liked the location, near the Pantheon & Piazza de Navone. The staff were excellent, & very helpful. The breakfast was very plentiful, with everything you could possibly need. Our room (after we returned from our cruise) was larger & newly renovated, compared to the room we were in before the cruise. Nice rooftop terrace, to sit & relax.
First room very small & cramped. (but not horrible.) WiFi was intermittent, & somewhat slow ...... but not a big concern.
Room is too small
Some receptionists/waiters actually do not speak English. Wi-fi signal very spotty, network terribly slow and not reliable.
1. Elevator wouldn't carry two people. Had to send the bags up and race up the stairs to get them. 2. No bus boy or assistance with bags
- location - good breakfast - nice breakfast room - friendly staff - comfortable bed - roof terrace - elevator - wi-fi
- bathroom quite small - shower very small - hard to close shower door
It was close to restaurants and public transportation and within walking distance of many tourist attractions. The roof top patio was a lovely spot for drinks before or after dinner.
The breakfast room was noisy and very small. It was difficult to get into and out of seats, as tables were too close together.
Could walk to all the sites, breakfast was wonderful
Good breakfast, friendly staff and good location
Small room with very small shower. Old furniture.
Super location, close to everything you come here to see. Nice atmosphere in interesting old building. Charming breakfast room, with wide choices and friendly service. Loved it.
Herringbone floor in our room was lifting under a throw rug...the perils of an old building, but just be careful!
The Hotel Smeraldo is nestled amongst boutiques and restaurants in a quaint narrow alleyway. Within walking distance of the major attractions. A great little bar right off the doorstep. Good continental breakfast with fresh fruit and breads. Look for DanE's restaurant right around the corner. Really great food!
The location is perfect for walking to the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the river, and basically anywhere you'd want to go in Rome. The continental breakfast is terrific, too! We were there in the summer and the melon and prosciutto are great.
Rooms are small, but hopefully you'll be out and about, instead of hanging out in your room. It's an old building, so people making noise in the hall woke us up a few times, but it was still a wonderful place to stay overall.
Absolutely no welcoming feeling of goodwill towards customers here. I think the staff needs a reminder that they are the first impression foe guests of their city.
Staff not friendly. Lots of street noise into the night
