Location in an old part of the city is good, the hotel is not the uniform type of big hotel and has some interesting features. The cost was good for the type of city and I have no reason not to recommend to others.
Nothing, all fine.
The bathroom is exesent
Great location right next to many sites and restaurants, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Tiny room, due for a paint (all room walls were dirty, paper thin walls.
Spacious room, very clean and a very, very convenient location near Campo de' Fiori and the Pantheon. Hotel also sells tickets for the Hop on/off bus and they are helpful with directions and a map.
The location was great, you can walk to all the important sites. Close to the bus and some good restaurants.
The wifi was a little intermittent one day if the three we were there. Otherwise a great hotel, well located.
The cleaning women took pride in their work and were very helpful and friendly! The younger man at the desk was most helpful.
The older man at the desk was not friendly or helpful. The website says airport shuttle giving one the impression that it was free.....cost 48 euros to get to the airport one way.
The elevator was very small and proved to be a hindrance when moving our luggage between the lobby and the second floor. Luggage storage in the basement upon arrival while waiting form our room preparation was equally fretful.
Our room was in the Annex. Wifi was bad.
the location, friendly staff at the front desk and helpful , room clean and good lighting, fair enough for a short stay to discover the city and visit many monuments in a short period as the hotel is close to most famous attractions
narrow room, good for one person but a couple will be in tight, the lift is few steps high, so not practical when you have a heavy suitcase, you need to carry it till the lift, limited choice of breakfast, no pancakes, no eggs, no waffles, no fruits, no salads, and the lady serving the breakfast her tone is tough, you feel like she is aggressing you! bathroom has no door, not practical when you are two in a room!
Absolutely loved our stay here! All the major sights in walking distance. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Great value for money. Lovely rooftop terrace.
Nothing we didn't like about Hotel Smeraldo
Loved it was in great location
the toilet lid couldn't lean against the wall and kept hitting my back.
Nice staff, very comfortable bed and pillows. Great location
Atmosphere. Easy to walk from to most of city Close to some of the best restaurants, shops and sights
tired room. confirmed airport pick up did not show we waited an hour and then took a taxi!
Staff very friendly, location excellent.
Wifi not excellent (just to say something)
Great location in the heart of Rome. Located on a "vicolo"--a pedestrian passageway--the neighborhood was charming, with lots of shops and strolling visitors. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They readily allowed us to store our luggage there after checking out, so that we could spend that day touring the city.
Our room felt somewhat cramped for two people. And while traffic was light in the immediate vicinity, there was plenty of activity till late; so be sure to have earplugs.
We liked our room (203) it had recently been renovated was in excellent condition along with en suite. The cleanliness was excellent and nice crisp bedding and towels. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was well situated for our sightseeing and lots of good places to eat around the area
We did not enjoy the breakfast . No fresh juice. We think it was made up from powder. Fresh fruit was a bit tired and buffet was a a bit shambolic too many people trying to get their breakfasts at same time. Wi fi was free but had to log on every time we tried to use it
Our second stay in the main building was perfect. Nice, clean room with modern lines and a more than decent, very nice bathroom.
Avoid the second building. We stayed for two nights in the hotel 4 days apart. The first room was in the second building and the room was worth nothing! Minus one star rating! Archaic room with dinky bath. Our 6 year-old daughter was afraid to go asleep. She named the room "ghost house". Both rooms were at the same price-shame!
Nice hotel, with a great location in the center of Roma. You can visit all the old Rome, the Forum and Coliseum by feet. Clean and luminous rooms. Good breakfast.
We ordered a hotel transfer for 4 persons from Ciampino airport to the Hotel, by email, two weeks before our visit. We received a confirmation by email, but when we arrived, nobody waited for us. The hotel staff did not call us to inform there was a problem with the transport company, and we called twice from our side to end up taking a public taxi. Not serious !
The location is amazing, within a walkable distance from all the key sights of the city but at the same time in a quiet street. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, they get cleaned every day. The hotel staff are very fast in getting back to you when arranging the details of your stay.
The staff are quite slow, not very friendly and don't or barely speak any languages other than Italian. The breakfast is very basic - I think for the same money you'd be better off getting something in one of the nearby coffee shops. When you make your reservation you will receive an email offering to arrange a transfer from the airport to the hotel. IMPORTANT: The fixed taxi rate from the Ciampino airport to the hotel is 30 EUR, but the hotel charge you 55 EUR! Don't fall into this trap.
Location was great, within walking distance of many of the major sites. Hotel staff was very helpful.
The room was very small and the decor was poor for a 160 eur/night hotel.
Clean room Beautiful bathroom Friendly staff Good breakfast
Hotel is in good location. Walking distance of attractions The restaurant across the street is excellent, staff friendly
Hotel was in this little cobblestone street and to us was a typical place and position for a Rome stay, was convienent to most loacations..breakfast location was good and variety reasonable. we stayed for 4 nights and our initial room was faily poor...darkish, tiniest shower we saw in Italy..no good for large men...and no bar frig.So asked for another room..and were re-located in newly renovated room..they were obviously undergoing renovations to all the rooms..this room on the 4th floor was the same size ,but completely redesigned ie. much brighter..down lights and bathroom without these silly bidets that are in most hotels, allowing for a much larger shower with unigue settings..very well designed, however still lack of hanging hooks for towels and the bit of washing that most travellers need to do. And so therefore would rate this hotel as per Booking .com had rated it and would return to the renovated rooms again
Terrible main3 person lift..so tiny and would not take even 2 people without the buzzer going off...needs replacing or at least some maintenance repairs. Although renovated rooms were nice..being on 4th floor..if people on the rooftop..which is good and good view...then the noise on the 4th floor cilings into the rooms is dreadful if people are moving chairs and tables about...suggest either a notice be placed on the rooftop or limit the time to say 9.30pm in lieu of 10.45 as stated. This may seem early, but after you have walked all day then 9.30pm is no so early to go to bed.
