Just a 2-minute walk from Florence Cathedral, Hotel Olimpia is in the heart of Florence. The simple rooms have air conditioning and a TV. Many also have views out over the rooftops.

Score from 127 reviews Excellent
Only a few minutes walk to the major attractions yet still quiet and private. Only had to go right outside the door for something to eat whether we wanted a meal or just coffee and gelato.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
They were not available after 1:00 in the afternoon.
The location was fantastic. The Uffizi Museum is right around the corner. The plaza was great for people watching, gelato eating, and listening to concerts. We appreciated the range of restaurants and the safe environment. The owners are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed everything. Our stay was too short!
Amazing location, staff very friendly but there not there all of the time so very much like staying in someone's home. Spotlessly clean and comfortable.
No wifi.little information . walk up the stairs with my luggage.
amazing location. very helpful staff
it was hard to find since there was no signage; A sign viewable from the piazza would be helpful
The minor inconveniences of this establishment are completely made up for by its many advantages, including the location in the very heart of historical Florence; the kind, helpful and efficient staff; the charm of authenticity that pervades the premises due to its specific characteristics, such as the age of the building, the homelike layout with all the rooms on one floor, the antique and "vintage" furniture and amenities, the personal decoration. This hotel definitely contributed to making our week-long stay in Florence - a town we know well from previous visits - a highly agreeable, special, and memorable experience.
The large flight of marble stairs to reach the elevator may require some organisation if you have numerous or heavy bags. Two or three times we were a little disturbed by noise from the street or the corridor, but nothing serious; the wi-fi sometimes requires patience.
The location of Soggiorno Antica is absolutely perfect. You are within walking distance of everything. The staff goes out of their way to make sure they answer questions and get you acclimated with the city.
Beds were a little uncomfortable.
The room was spacious, quite clean, water pressure was hot and strong. The high ceilings were beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful - only present from 8:00am to 12:00pm but responsive over email. The location can't be beat - right on the Piazza Signoria!
The room got a little stuffy and hot, I couldn't figure out how to turn on the air conditioner so maybe that was my fault. But opening the window made everything much cooler (but noisier from the outside).
Location!!! You need only to step out the door to visit the museums and historical attractions. The staff was very pleasant, and their restaurant suggestions were spot-on.
There were some problems with the Internet. We did not like that there was an extra charge for breakfast.
Location, location, location! Lovely hotel right in the heart of Firenze.
Location is amazing, rooms are huge and staff are helpful when they are there.
No reception after 1pm daily. On arrival you have to make a call to an Italian number to gain access to hotel
The only good thing about this place is the location. If not for that they would be out of business. Quite honestly, although reviewers gush about the location central Florence is a small place and you don't really need to be right on the Piazza Della Signoria. You can literally walk from the Duomo, through the Piazza della Signoria, across the Ponte Vecchio, and into the Pitti Palace in about 15 minutes.
The noise is awful. It's not so much the crowds, although you do get the occasional drunk carrying on sometimes at night. The street cleaning trucks and delivery trucks seem to be active at all hours between midnight and dawn. The wifi was totally inadequate. They are aware of this and have never bothered to fix it. You will get along well with the staff as long as you don't interrupt their routine. They are there during certain hours and that's it. They seem to want to leave early - before the stated 1 pm - and if you hold them up they get snooty. Unlike any other place I've ever stayed I had the distinct impression that we were there for them rather than the other way around. If you want bragging rights that you stayed right in the heart of Florence at the Piazza Della Signoria, fine, but you can find much better accommodations nearby with far better level of service and amenities. Even if you stay on the other side of the river you can reach the Palazzo Vecchio in 10 minutes on foot.
Location, location, location. The location is great, and the room was clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly when we finally saw them, the next day. They work from 8am-1pm. They allowed us to keep our bags there in the lobbly, however, the problem is that after 1pm there is no one there to watch your bags. Anyone else with access to the lobby can take you bags.
Staff leaves every day at 1pm. You are on you own if you arrive after 1pm, which we did. It took us 30 minutes just to get into the hotel lobby (30 minutes to also find it in the square - had to ask a police officer to help find the address). There are 36 steps to reach the elevator, which you can easlily miss. In that case there are 90+ steps to the hotel door, which is locked and requires a code that is sent with your reservation. They sent us the wrong code which delayed our entrance. The Air conditioning did not work. There was no hot water. Undersized electrical outlets, throughout. So we finally made it into the lobby, picked our room (every room had a skelton key in the door, no one else was there). We saw the staff at 8am the next day.
it has an excellent location, walking distance to everywhere. the staff is very very helpful. we didn't see everywhere where they said but we did eat everything what they say and they where delicious :)
