Excellent view. Very centrally located and very friendly staff! Love the convenience of the breakfast served in the room and the great choices. Will definitely return!
I can't stress how lovely our stay was. The location was perfect. Our window view was the duomo and breath-taking. The staff were so friendly and always ready to give advice on where to go, eat and see. They even let us come back three days later and leave our bags while we explored more of florence. Breakfast was brought to us everyone morning on the exact time we specified we wanted it. Surprisingly the room is really quiet considering it's on the square which always allowed for a good nights sleep. It literally has everything you need it to have. I would definitely reccomend.
Location & innkeepers
Very small room
The view was amazing! The large window opened out overlooking the Piazza San Giovanni and the Cathedral. The location was ideal, very central and convenient for seeing all the main sights in Florence. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was no problem to leave my bags after I had checked out to collect later. The room was simple but good value for money and as described.
It was a little difficult to locate, with only a small plaque outside to indicate that the building was Soggiorno Battistero. I used the picture of the room's view to work out where the building was on the square. I found the toiletries provided inadequate - a small sachet that was not replenished on my second day.
Perfect location, friendly staff and comfy bed. Views are amazing. Piazza gets a little noisy at night/early morning but easily remedied by ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Would definitely return.
Location! Luca and Kelly were very helpful in every way. Internet was free and reliable. The soundproofing (glass windows) worked perfectly as did the air conditioning.
The shower was impossible. I am a small person and I almost could not fit. It was unavoidable to get water all over the floor. Also, I small shelf and light over the sink or somewhere in the bath would have been a big help to guests without a lot of investment on the part of the owners. There was NO PLACE to put anything in the bath. My single-bed room did have a monestary feel to it.
The location is fabulous if you don't mind the noise from the bars below (which I didn't). WiFi worked and the breakfast was fine although served in the tiny room it was very cramped. I got what I paid for, a basic room in an amazing location so did not expect more.
Very basic single room with a tiny shower with a curtain that made using the shower extremely difficult. Dried blood on the sheets made it unpleasant to sleep in, although it was clear that they had been laundered. Even the taxi driver couldn't locate the property and the signage was non existent.
I really enjoyed the stay at the hotel. The Kelly was very helpful and friendly, breakfast in the room is excellent. The location was perfect.
there was nothing I didn't like
Location, easy to find, lift to rooms, windows overlooking street with sound-proofing if you wish, attractive breakfast, staff helpful.
Couldn't stay longer. Hope to go back!
A great location, great staff and very clean.
The single room is a bit small, but great value for money if you're traveling alone.
nice location, nice owner who even helped me to call Trenitalia...since there was a strike. thanks
the room which i stayed is quite small, but for one person it's still acceptable because of the good location
The location was excellent - easy walk from the train station (even with luggage); right across from the Duomo; near to many main sights and good shopping. Kelly and her husband are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast served in your room - simple but very good especially the freshly baked muffins. There is an elevator so you don't have to haul your luggage up 3 very long flights of stairs. Wi-fi worked well.
In the winter, take slippers - the tile floors are not surprisingly cold.
Maria was really kind and helpful. Also the location was so perfect.
Breakfast was snack..but I can accept that considering the price. But the problem was cleaning.. the toilet was not clean(even the first day there is something...), I spend few days and one last day they didn't clean my toilet at all..
Location was perfect. All the sites are in walking distance and you can catch the hop on hop off bus easy. The room was big and spacious the bathroom was a little small but the shower worked well.
Wished the wifi worked faster but it seemed to work well.
The Hotel Location is excellent. Duomo is just out of the windows. Moreover, it's in the heart of Florence, we can easily walk to Firenze S.M.N.-the main train station- and Vecchio, Uffizi museum.
Heater doesn't work while we stay, so it's quite cold at night when we sleep. But it might be our fault to never ask to fix it.
Location couldn't be better Staff was great. Breakfast was wonderful.
Not knowing we needed to go to third floor to check in.
It is right next to the duomo so that is really convenient. The balcony looks onto the square which is great. There is also free wi fi
Served breakfast in the room which is ok. However the innkeeper forgot most of the breakfast items E.G. there was hot water but no tea bags. Also all items except the muffins were store bought. Limited fresh options. When entering the building at night, I felt unsafe. The reason is that the lights are not on in the entrance and the passageway. So it is completely dark. You need to switch them on when you reach the 3 rd floor which is the B&B. The innkeeper is not on the premises and there is no staff from around 4-6 pm
Close to the Duomo. Able to book Academia and Uffizi reservations for us, and give advice on other things to see. Had a bookshelf with Rick Steve's travel books which we used during our stay. Double glazing in windows made room very quiet, even when bells were ringing. Airconditioning was a real bonus in our heatwave holiday. Elevator fitted us plus our luggage with no problems. Walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Stored our luggage from 8am til room available, after we had arrived at train station at 6am. We had no problems walking with luggage to train station.
We knew what we would be having for breakfast when we booked, but would have appreciated something moist like stewed fruit or yoghurt. We knew that there was no fridge, and in a heat wave missed it.
Wonderful view from my hotel room on the Duomo, very friendly staff, comfy and clean bedroom and bathroom, big breakfast, free wifi... Location is right in the center of Florence, everything was so close to the hotel I could pop into my room for a shower and nap every afternoon. Definitely recommend this hotel!
The location is incredible. Right outside my window, so close I almost felt I could touch it, was the fantastically beautiful Il Duomo de Firenze (cathedral), Florence's most popular sight to see. You immediately feel like it's *your* piazza since you "live" there, and all the other people milling around are just tourists. The bells in the morning were magical. I should add that the piazza is noisy until late at night but the windows are excellent modern double- glazed ones, and when I shut them I didn't hear a thing outside. Staff were super friendly. The breakfast was excellent (for Italy): croissant with jam and butter, melba toast, some cheese, a hard-boiled egg, a jug of orange juice and a pot of tea (you could also get coffee). My room was tiny--I was travelling alone and didn't mind just the single bed and the tiny desk. The wifi worked fine. If I go back to Florence I would love to stay there again. To think of all the people who have passed right under your window and through the piazza in front of the cathedral, since the 1400s when it was constructed, is an amazing thought.
Honestly, there was nothing I didn't like. Some other people who arrived as I was leaving were disappointed they didn't get a room with a view. And I understand some of the rooms are higher up than the office on the third floor, which is where mine was and which you could reach by elevator--so I could imagine some people used to not having to carry their bags up the stairs not liking that. But come on! You're right outside Il Duomo so suck it up.
