The staff was very friendly and kind. No problems at all. Location was excellent, just 3 minute walk from the train station. Bedding was clean and fresh. Private bathroom and shower was clean, towels provided.

    Close to the station

Place was shabby, old and dated, lacking in charm except perhaps for the funny clunky old elevator. Room smelt bad until I opened the windows. Shower was fixed to the wall in such a way that it jutted out towards the shower door making it impossible to close. Had to shower with door open awkwardly sticking my head out of it, only way to avoid getting my hair wet. Breakfast was inedible: old croissants, hard bread, cheap quality jams, hot chocolate from machine was sickly sweet, coffee was appalling, undrinkable, fruit juice smelt & tasted weird. Wifi not available in rooms, only in 'communal areas' ie breakfast room

Near the metro station & all nice attractions

breakfast could be better, wifi is only in the breakarea on the 2nd floor, staff can exert some effort to smile and be friendly

The hotel is on a great location, close to the train station as well as the city's main attractions. Our room had a private bathroom and air condicioning, which was a great investment for just 10 euros more.

Although the morning staff was very helpful and polite, at night, the concierge was extremely rude.

Liked the traditional style if the room with inner and outer shutters and the top floor balcony. Old lift a great feature, it felt almost French. Good location for us as travelling just by train.

location is excellent, the hotel is close to the city center and the train station.

No Wi-Fi, you have to walk down to 2nd floor to get access to it. The streets outside are quite noisy, as tourist shuttles arrive in early morning circa 6 am - might be a problem if you book a room with an AC.

great cross ventilation, much wanted after long trans-Atlantic flight. Very old building but electric elevator ran so silently we thought it hadn't moved. Excellent reference for dinner. Good and we are booked for return to area.

Difficult to find, as multiple hotels using same entrance along street, but this was normal in the area. Excellent rate off-set minor negatives.

Not far to walk from central train station and not far from main sights. staff helpful.

Fact that we were put in an attic. Stairs leading up to what was maid quarters. No where to hang any towels or put anything in bathroom. Luckily we're slim and could just fit in shower. Noisy lift (not to our floor) and door closing all hours. Hot room and when windows open mossies come in.. Over three weeks in Italy and this was the dearest (fair enough that Florence would be) but also by far the worst. Others were gems. First one on that actually took $ on credit card. Still waiting for the hold to come off reply was "call your bank." And believe that because we had backpacks they thought they could put us in the worst room.

Location excellent, right in the centre. Balcony was an unexpected luxury and lots of time was spent out on it in the evenings. The room was an adequate size for 3 of us so no issues.

Wifi only in the reception area The optional breakfast was fairly basic and not overly exciting

Location is only a couple of minutes away from the railway station. It looks to me this is a hotel converted from an old flat that used to be occupied by a family hundreds year ago. Feel secure and the shared bathrooms are very private.

The room is small but fair for the price and I only stayed for one night.

The location was perfect as very close to the station but our balcony faced the city centre so was very quiet and great view of the cathedral dome and bell tower

I'd not come across a hotel like this before, it was one of several hotels that shared a large tenement. There was an antiquated lift, which was charming, but we used the stairs. Don't let this put you off, unless you don't like elevators and stairs.
