The room and shower is nice. Close to the railway station and other places. There's a nice pizzaria closeby too
No wifi in the room. No breakfast included
The location was excellent for our trip, laying so close to the train and yet most of Florence was completely accessible.
Perhaps this place was a product of its bargain price but the overall comfort and service was lacking. It is very disagreeable to walk to the front desk and be stared at in silence from the man behind it.
It near the train station
Wifi only available at common area rather in room.
3 to 5 mins to the train station and tourist sites;the room is huge
Location Bed was comfortable Nice TV
Breakfast is expensive for what they serve Room sheets/pillows were not clean Leaving the key at desk every time you leave the hotel is unusual to say the least
Location, location location ... Shower
location is good
too many mosquito to sleep, my room door shows "private" rather than any number!!
It's falling apart. It was my second stop in florence and for the price I would go somewhere else. Clearly the owner doesn't care about maintenance and cleanliness. Yes it's an old building but so is verywhere else in the big cities of Italy. One male staff member durind checkin was excellent. As for the night shift staff and one female day staff, you are running what could be called a poor hostel. I don't ask for much either so people book somewhere else.
Nice easy walk, great privacy, loved the room and the old fashioned lift.
Lots of keys!
Walking distance to everything, friendly staff, and a nice room. Great value for price. Being one block from the SMN train station was very convenient.
Very close to the train station and within walking distance to main attractions (e.g. Piazza del Duomo, Arno).
In front of the house is a bus parking, you can hear them the whole day until late evening. I also heard the guests in the rooms beside me and on the floor. Breakfast is excluded and needs to be payed extra.
Location, right next to train station, balcony, light, airy, cheap, close to walk to main sights, nice restaurants
Little tricky to find, broken balcony door, broken bathroom door handle, slightly broken bed, shower head angled very inconveniently, loud traffic noise, sockets wouldn't fit EU converter plug
Night shift staff were very rude and lazy.
Close to train station
Night shift personal was so bad and no wi-fi big handicap
Location excellent right around corner from station . Great to store luggage. The building has lots of character and air com rooms have great views and balconies
Simple rooms are really economy rooms- the second night we moved to a triple located up the stairs in a tiny attic - small slow desk fan and lots of Mosquitos and hot..Tiny shower you can barely stand in that opens to toilet. We were told it was the economy room though it was same price as much nicer triple room we had the day before .
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is very good.
Wi-fi wasn't available in our room.
Close to train station. Friendly & helpful staff.
Thin walls & mosquito's. My fault for opening window's but it was very warm, and i did have ear plugs but just didn't use them when I should :)
Very nice location--right near the train station and just outside the city center. I stayed in the older quarters--which had an old world charm--and the newer, more modernized rooms--both were great--and yes, the modernized are air conditioned--so that helped. Most of all, it was a good rate in a very touristy city. Recommend.
Room wasn't ready when we reached the hotel so we had to leave our bags in the lobby and check in when we was back at night
I visited there at late August, but there are lots of mosquitos. Therefore my mother and I can not sleep anymore. We fighted all night with mosquitos and then leave early morning. too tired :( But location is perfect.
Good location and price.
No air conditioner, many mosquitos and no wifi in the rooms.
Takes around 5 minutes to get Santa Maria Del Novella main train station.Around 10-15 min away to Piazza Del Duomo . Rooms are ok . Hot water available ( Around 15-20 seconds to warm up ) . Generally preferable facility .
Internet connection is just available at lobby . Shower is really narrow which bothers little bit. Old lift takes some time to wait . Rooms are on other floors not along with lobby .
The staff was very friendly and kind. No problems at all. Location was excellent, just 3 minute walk from the train station. Bedding was clean and fresh. Private bathroom and shower was clean, towels provided.
This was the most comfortable hotel bed we had in italy. it was close to everything important. we could see the duomo from our balcony. The room was beautiful, it had an antique 1800s feel. the staff was friendly, and it was so close to the train station that if you threw a rock in that direction you would hit it. it was in a very safe neighborhood.
This hotel was great, I wish we could have paid for it in advance though rather than having to pay at the time.
Close to the station
Place was shabby, old and dated, lacking in charm except perhaps for the funny clunky old elevator. Room smelt bad until I opened the windows. Shower was fixed to the wall in such a way that it jutted out towards the shower door making it impossible to close. Had to shower with door open awkwardly sticking my head out of it, only way to avoid getting my hair wet. Breakfast was inedible: old croissants, hard bread, cheap quality jams, hot chocolate from machine was sickly sweet, coffee was appalling, undrinkable, fruit juice smelt & tasted weird. Wifi not available in rooms, only in 'communal areas' ie breakfast room
