Soggiorno GloriaVia Nazionale 17, Santa Maria Novella, 50123 Florence (Show map) Good, Score from 162 reviews“Great price and clean bathrooms! And the best is the comfort we have at the rooms, seeming like a more sophisticated hostel.”
Livia,
Lüneburg
Arrive at Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station and be in your comfortable room at Soggiorno Gloria just 5 minutes later. Tourist attractions are just a stroll away. Set on the first and third floors of an elegant 19th-century building, Soggiorno Gloria provides both en suite rooms and rooms with shared bathrooms. All are clean and well-decorated, with air conditioning and TV and many have their own balconies. Soggiorno Gloria is convenient for Fortezza Da Basso exhibition center as well as Florence’s historic center. Stroll to the nearby markets or rent a bike from the guesthouse and set off to explore. Buses also stop just outside. Hotel Rooms: 10

The hotel is literally down the street from the train station and only about a 5 minute walk away from the main attractions of Florence (the duomo, etc.). The triple was comfortable and contained a t.v. (although this was never used), a refrigerator, and even came with free snacks (crackers, small pasteries, coffee, etc.) The staff was friendly and helpful and the map that was provided at check-in was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying a few nights in Florence. The hotel was quite difficult to find at first. There is no bright sign outside to identify it and don't try and rely on the numbers on the street because they can jump from 71 to 13 in just a few steps. If you are coming from the train station, the hotel is on the left side of the street; walk a little ways until you pass a gelato shop on the corner of a set of buildings; the hotel is a few buildings after the gelato shop. There are big wooden doors and a small bronze plaque that says "Soggiorno Gloria"; you need to buzz the hotel to be let it. To find the front desk, go up one flight of stairs and turn right. Another thing that could have been improved were the bathrooms. They were shared, which was fine, but the hot water ran out very quickly. I don't mind quick, cold showers, but if you'd prefer not to take them, you should probably look elsewhere.

Near to the train station Bad and old place in good location. They will treat you well if they are in the mood. They do not have wireless internet connection in all rooms, the facility is a home router for almost 15 rooms in 2 floors. All rooms are very noisy and the facilities are very old. Even the window did not close well so we had noise during the night. We had to fix it with paper. There is only 1 room like the one in the picture. The others are old, and smelly. We had several good experiences in Firenze and one bad experience: Soggiorno Gloria.

It wasn't too difficult to find and the clerk was helpful. There was roadnoise, but it didn't really prevent me from sleeping. They offer everything a basic hotel would, including the use of a computer in their lobby. There were shared bathrooms, which I didn't think there would be in a hotel. There were also comforters on the end of each bed which were very gross looking. They were very discolored. I'm hoping that it was only from washing them with bleach or something, but we chose not to use them anyways.

It was very affordable for us 4 college students, the price for four people was pretty good about 22 euros a person, and the location was awesome, it was right in the middle of everything (5 min from shopping strips, duomo, bars). We had our own bathroom and the room was pretty clean for the most part. The door to our room literally did not lock one time when we were going out, since there is not always someone at the front desk we were lucky we found someone that could help us fix it otherwise it would have completely ruined our night. The front desk staff was not there during checkout and it was kind of confusing

We have already been in Soggiorno Gloria, and we liked rooms and the position. In room you have more than in most hostels. Fridge, TV, safe. It may be a little bit noisy to somebody because it is located in Via Nazionale, but to us it wasn't a problem. Position is perfect.

The location is good, near to the central rail and most of the tourist attractions. Most of the receptionists are friendly and helpful, especially the elder gentleman. The room is clean and comfortably facilitated. The receptionist who is an asain lady sees too occupied with her phone calls.

Clean internet access mini bar and fridge location to sights and central station lift helpful staff The front desk is not manned 24 hours, so there is a lack of security on the front door, which was often left ajar. There was a party going on in one of the rooms and we suspect extra persons were in the rooms creating a lot of noise.

The hotel is near the train station and easy to find it. The room has much more space enough for laying down the luggages. It's value for money that we paid for. There is no sign clearly to show where is the hotel located. We had to ask the local people where is the hotel.

Easy access to the historical Firenze. Short to walk from the bus. Nice staff. They did not fill up the coffee and replaced the cups for the room. Also no information about the cakes there.

The price and location were great. We arrived at check in time and were greeted with 2 big locked wooden doors. We rang the appropriate buzzer repeatedly and got no answer. We had walked over a mile from our friend's house with our bags and really expected a little more convenience. We finally began ringing all the other buzzers for the building until someone buzzed us in. After that things went a lot smoother and we were given a key to the outside door. There is a lot of street noise outside but this isn't an issue for us as we are not light sleepers.

The location is good, very near the train station. It's convenient to go every scenic sopt on foot. And the room is very clean and big. There are two public bath rooms both of them are clean. And the hair drier in the bath room is useful. The price is cheap and worth the money.

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The shower was kind of space age, which was fun, even though it didn't work too well. We didn't get towels in our room. The guy at reception was very nice about fixing that, but the towels were, how to put this... Like tiny little washcloths. Given that this was the most expensive place we stayed in Italy, it was the shabbiest in terms of services (for example, the towels, the internet service didn't work in the room, and it was the only place that did not include breakfast. There was liquid soap in the shower, but we had to move it back and forth to the sink, and there was no shampoo.). The one night we stayed was *fine*, as in acceptable, but no more than that.
