The location of Soggiorno Karaba is very good, just about 10 minutes walking distance from SMN train station, which especially makes dragging your luggage around bearable when arriving and leaving. The sights such as Duomo di Firenze are not too far away, either. The breakfast included was a cup of coffee, a glass of orange juice and a choice of pastry served in the cafe downstairs where you could also buy yoghurts and such for quite okay prices. The wi-fi worked well, the room was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. Cooking in the kitchen was not allowed, but you could use it to store your foods.
Karaba is not very easy to find, since they don't have any signs. The staff did the check-in for us but then practically disappeared for the rest of the stay. For us that was not a problem but if you are not familiar with the city or Italy, you'd probably wish for more attendant staff. We shared one bathroom between two twin bedrooms and we often had to wait for it.
Posizione Accoglienza Pulizia Colazione
10 min walking from train station
We had a great 3-night stay at Karaba'. The staff contacted us to ask about our arrival time in advance, so we had no problem with our late check-in. The location couldn't have been any better, railway station is just within a 5-minute walk. Our room (I believe #4) was as huge as a football pitch, we easily could have practised ballroom dancing there :) Wardrobes, our private balcony, TV set made it even more comfy. The bathroom and the kitchen are also clean and spacious. Would definitely stay there again!
The only but significant cons is the double bed which in fact is two single beds put together. The matresses slide apart all the time and you constantly find yourself in the hole in between. Also the place has a fully equipped kitchen, however it is not allowed to cook, which was fairly disappointing for us.
Very comfy bed and clean bathroom. Good location, 10 minutes walking from train station.
Wifi was very poor in the room. We had to go to the living room to use it. We couldn't use the kitchen / oven to cook or heat up food. Make sure to tell them what time you will check in... we didn't know we had to let them know in advance... and ended up finding a post it with a phone number to call... and we had no phone... Fortunately we found someone nice who lent us his phone. Breakfast is till 11!!! We didn't know and missed it one day.
The guy who wait us was very very kind! The breakfast was excellent!!!
.Because it is an apartment with 3 rooms, your comfort depends on the others also. If they make noise or not. The fact that we had all 3 rooms only a bathroom. Maybe the need of more intimacy...at the end.
It was very nice place, location was excellent, very near to train station.
You can't get any better choice at the same price!
We stayed with my mom and me in master room which had separate shower, toilet. The kitchen was shared. All facilities required for the kitched were supplied except microwave. The staff was very helpful. He explained everything and provided with map of Florence and highlights of the city.
It is not a major drawback but be careful with check in time. The staff is only there for couple of hours. We arrived late at 7 so had to ring to cell and wait outside for 15 min. Also, there is no sign on the street that there is hotel. There are only small tag on the door bells. Be sure that you are opposite to the hotel with big sign. Sorry dont remember the name of it.
Nice and clean, Quiet Room.
Place locked and could not get in? Lucky that another guest overheard us talking and gave us a phone number of a man who then came and open up for us, could have been waiting in street for a long time with a elderly relative?
location, near to the train station very clean good staff
still ten minutes walk from the station, if with heavy luggage, it will be not easy
Location is very good and Joel (staff) was very helpful and friendly.
There was a very noisy group downstairs that kept us awake until the wee hours.
Great location, near the train station (5 min to go). The hotel staff was friendly. Very nice and clean kitchen - with kettle, dishes, coffee and tea. Room was clean and quite nice.
Location 8 mins walk from the train station. Bus stop is 2 mins away. Elevator. Clean room. Shared kitchen with fridge and kettle.
There was no one to attend us at the hotel even though we arrived during the check-in hours. We ranged the bell few times and tried to call the person in charge. Luckily one of the guests helped to open the door for us and let us wait at the common room.
Location was reasonable and price was affordable.
We loved that it was walkable distance to the station and the room was super neat and wonderful! It felt like home!
We stayed in Room 1, this was a little noisy but could be overlooked if the doors are closed.
Good room and clean
The only thing I didn't like is that you need call and make sure with the owner if you can't check in before 15:00. it's difficult in communication.
- near train station - clean - elevator - comfortable bed
- good kitchen - nice balcony - big room - good wi-fi
- a bit far from Firenze S.M. train station - un-talkative reception
The rooms are nothing extraordinary but they are decently sized for their price for Florence. The b&b is an apartment of 3 rooms and the use of the loungeroom and kitchen (not for cooking, just for tea/coffee/eating space) is fantastic. There is a lift in the building which is also useful.
Beds & pillows were pretty hard and uncomfortable.
the location ideal for travellers on a budget
bathroom needs refurbishing
The personal was so helpful, eventhough we had came a day earlier, they found a place for us. The location is good, so close to the train station and then to the city center.
Sometimes was hard to have wifi in our room and the big minus is that is forbidden to use a kitchen.
This place has got to be one of the best "hotel" deals ever. Really, it feels like units to an apartment. My boyfriend and I stayed in what felt like a master bedroom. It was three times the size of a regular hotel room. Everything was extremely clean. No complaints, it was absolutely amazing!
It's close to the city center (you can walk on foot to Duomo). The room is really big and there is a shared kitchen with fridge, keetle.
There was anyone to attend us when we arrived at the soggiorno. We had to wait for 15 minutes and call by phone. It's a really old flat with the same decoration as my grandma's house. Some services didn't work as well as I expected: Wifi, hairdryer, ...
