The room was spacious and comfortable, with a spectacular view! The owners were lovely and did everything they could to make our stay perfect.
It was quite a long drive to any of the major towns, but that meant it was quiet.
Together with my wife we had a wonderful stay in Solaria. Emilio gave us many useful advices about sightseeing and eating and Angela’s cooking was far better than delicious. Don't worry about parking – there is a public parking area next to Solaria. Best wishes to our hosts!
Emilio & Angela are the perfect hosts. Emilio really helped us with what to do around the region including restaurant tips, parking tips etc. Angela made us feel like we were staying at her house! she is the perfect cook, we loved her breakfasts. Also, the view is stunning. The rooms are well furnitured with balconies with breathtaking view.
You need a car.
We were late for our arrival but were greeted by our very kind and gracious host. The setting is wonderful as are all the staff we met. I would DEFINITLY stay here again
Wow... what a wonderful place we were lucky enough to have picked by chance. We could not have been happier with our choice. If you're looking for an incredible place to stay while visiting the Amalfi coast, you've found it. I even remember telling our host Emilio, after I arrived, how surprised I was that the incredible view from our balcony was exactly as it had appeared in the pictures on the site. Emilio and his wife Angela are the most incredible hosts - so warm and friendly. You truly feel how every aspect of their hospitality comes straight from the heart. We even enjoyed spending time just sitting and talking with them. When we needed suggestions of where to go, Emilio was an incredible resource. He even arranged a pick up for us to a local restaurant one evening. And Angela's fantastic breakfasts reminded us every morning why we love coming back to Italy so much. If you're looking for a place to stay close to the action of Amalfi or one of the other towns in the area, this may not be the place for you. But if it's a quiet place, with a view and great hospitality, I highly recommend Solaria.
I can't think of anything we didn't like.
Everything is done so well here. Hospitality, facilities, helpfulness, food. And a romantic location. Great hosts. Gold!
It is a bit difficult to find, high up, and the panoramic view is slightly obscured... so a walk helps. But all the rest more than compensates.
We had a great breakfast with fruits, cakes and homemade brusquetas. The room is large and beautiful! It has good mattress with new and very clean bedding. Double-glazed windows. The bathroom is renovated and superclean, including a great shower. We were treated as family and felt at home. The owners are highly concerned about providing a pleasant experience until the smallest detail. Ha enough place to park for free. What was very useful because we could leave the car at the inn and use public transport to reach closest cities. You have to be aware that parking lots are really hard to find and when you find them you will realize they are very expensive. The staff of the hostel was very helpful when we asked for a shuttle to the restaurant for us, since it is located in a very quiet place and a bit far from the main touristic area. The location on Google street is incorrect. The exact location was found just following further along the road where there is a plaque with the name of the inn. A very interesting aspect about this hotel is about the owner who loves the study of languages. The proof of this statement is that he speaks six of them with good fluency. In fact, he speaks Portuguese and that helped us quite as much in our day-to-day providing a lot of tips about things to do around, since he was a local guide before. Next time we return to Amalfi coast, we'll surely book this same hotel!
Very good cost/benefity.
It is mandatory to have a car to enjoy the region since the hotel is far from the main touristic points.
views, help, FOOD
What was not to love about this place!! The hosts, Emilio, Angela and Dominico we so very kind to us and very knowledgeable about the area and getting around! They made us feel so comfortable and Angela's cooking has set a standard to which we have compared every other meal in Italy! The location is perfect if you like peace and tranquility, with the convenience of Amalfi right down the road. The view was spectacular and our room was so clean, light and airy!! We would return to Italy just to spend more time at Solaria!!
We spent 3 nights in Sept. 2014. The B&B is located in the country in Tevore. The first drive up is a little tricky but you soon get used to it. Better than staying in Amalfi or Positano for the true Italian experience . Emilio and Angela are the most welcoming hosts along with Paola and their son. Emilio speaks French and English very well. Emilio gave us a walking itinerary one day for the path of the gods including Positano and a boat ride back to Amalfi. This was a highlight of our trip. Angela makes the best breakfast you will have in Italy, all home made with love. The rooms are modern and spotless. We had a balcony overlooking the sea. Parking is included which can be difficult to find in Amalfi. All in all a great place with outstanding hosts. I can not say anything negative about this place. We'll worth the 20 minute drive from Amalfi.
Having to leave!
Emilio, his wife and son do a fantastic job ensuring every one of their guests have the best possible experience whilst staying at their hotel. The breakfast is the best I've had anywhere (including 5 star hotels), freshly made for you when you sit down. Our room was spacious and clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere in Amalfi.
You definitely need a car or some form of transport while staying here as it is about 15min drive to the centre of Amalfi. We were fine but you'd struggle without any.
We had a fantastic stay in Solaria. The area is quite, Angela is a real angel and Emilio is helpfull planning your turistic trips. After some weeks back home we are still missing the breakfast with home made ricotta or fruit cake, cappucino, local cacciocavolo cheese and the daily brushetta. When are we going back??
Dear Angela and Emilio, thank you for the beautiful 4 days in Solaria! We loved the stay in your hotel. You are the nicest host in the world. :) I feel still the taste of Angela's cake in my mouth. Mmmm...Yummi! The area is very calm and ideal to recover from the daily bustle. Thank you for everything! Best regards, Zsuzsanna and Peter
The owners, Emilio and Angela, and Paula were all very friendly and helpfull. They were always making sure we had everything we needed and helped with many useful information. We felt really welcome and comfortable. The view of the room is incredible and unforgettable, as is Amalfi. The room is nicely furnished and the bathroom was very spacious. We loved the stay!
just the view
it was not a lemon farm, just a small garden very difficult to get to amalfi, no bus nearby poor breakfast a very difficult road high price for what they offer
Emilio was a really nice host. Speaking french, english and spanish as long as italian of course. Excellent home made breakfast
The hotel is really fantastic! The view was splendid, the owners (Emilio and Angela) are very friendly and treat the guests with great hospitality and make everyone feel at home. The breakfast was different everyday bcause Angela bakes homemade cakes everyday herself and they vere really delicious! We are really happy for having chosen this hotel.
The only minus is that it its almost impossible to stay in the hotel without a car because the beach is quite far and going for a dinner also requires covering wast distances And it would be better to have mosquito nets on the windows as well.
Angela and Emilio were extremely hospitable. They went out of their way to help us and made sure that we enjoyed not just our stay but our holiday.
If you do not have a car/transportation of your own make sure you prepare well for the public transport, it is doable!
13 min. from Amalfi town and beaches, 9 min. from great restaurant and shop, 11 min. from cave and "fishermen-beach" - in the hills - is this little paradise. A newly renovated farmhouse with decor and details in perfect harmony with the Italien country style - still modern. Run by the most fantastic couple, Angela and her husband, that welcomes you with a warmth that makes you never want to leave again. You wake up with the view of Amalfi coast, lemon trees and the smell of Angela's freshly baked cakes. We loved the quiet mornings on the veranda from where we planned the day with Angela and Emilio's recommendations. After a day exploring the coast you can park your car, for free, right by the farmhouse. Bring home a pizza and a bottle of wine and enjoy the views from your balcony or visit one of the great restaurants. If you want a quiet, beautiful place, in the hills, with the warmth of an "Angela"(!), free parking, great home made breakfast and amazing views - this is the place for you! We certainly felt like home, and our daughter was treated like a child of the house and came to love Angela, who spent a lot of time playing with her. Hope we will be back soon...
Nothing! But remember - a car is preferred... As in, almost, any place on the Amalfi coast...
Quiet View Friendliness great breakfast clean great room accomodating transport to restaurant
very friendly and helpful hosts. brand new furnishing and fitting. quite rare in Europe. Great value.
breakfast was a treat, everything was fresh and plentiful! advice was great on where to go was helpful ie pompei, beach, capri Angela kindly did my washing as I was out of clothes! our host emilio had our transfers organised free of charge to and from the most wonderfully surprising restaurants for dinner! the view was exceptional rooms were spotless
despite free parking at hotel, we still had to pay 15-20 euro per day to park near the beach lots of dogs barking at neighbours house tv on very loud in reception made an afternoon of study difficult
Everything was like a dream....n to top it the love and care of Angela......it was a perfect stay for 5 days!
The delightful owners Angela and Emilio made us so very welcome. The renovation of this old home is amazing and they take such pride in it. Angela's breakfast was the best we experienced on this trip.
It is quite a distance from a restaurant or village and you definitely need a car to get there. A restaurant is about 4 kms away, which makes a good walk for lunch, or they provide a shuttle service for dinner. Good food, well priced, and friendly staff. If necessary, Angela will make you a great sandwich.
