Rooms were great. Location was excellent. The restaurant associated just in the building across the car park was EXCELLENT for tea and breakfast. This evening meal was the best we had in all our 4 weeks and we had some great ones!!!! Very nice suprise. Walk to the lake. Lots to see here. Highly recommend.
We find the roads very narrow in Italy and other parts of Europe so make sure your gps maps are up to date but that is just us otherwise NOTHING here.
friendly, clean, a beautiful town and a calm atmosphere, willingness to help! great scenery and if no luggage to carry - it's a fun walk
if you have no car - it's a long walk uphill on the cobble stone pavements, and the suitcase broke
Location was good. Room we had had a great view over Lake Como and was quite spacious. Parking available.
Breakfast was substandard. No range of cereal (only "coco pops" or something similar - muesli would have been good). Fruit juice was undrinkable (genuine fresh orange juice would have been good). "Fresh fruit" consisted of old plums and old apples. Breakfast quality certinaly did not tempt us to eat other meals there and certinaly detracted from the otherwise good standard. We did not
1.Proprietor's attitude. On arrival by car in the pouring rain we were confronted by an aggressive man who admonished us severely for parking in the wrong place and insisted that we immediately move our car to an alternative parking area. There was no attempt at an introduction or welcome. 2. When we went to the restaurant for a coffee there was a DEAD RAT in the flowerpot beside our table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3. I made the owner come to the restaurant with me to see this dead animal and he made all sorts of excuses as to how it had arrived there adding an attempt at an apology. 4. Due to the fact that a close friend of mine who was visiting London from Hong Kong had been admitted to hospital and was diagnosed with cancer we had to return to UK earlier than planned and therefore had to cancel four nights of our booked accommodation at Hotel Sonenga. The owner was difficult about this and said we had to refer it to Booking.com but eventually I persuaded him that since he had computer connections he should do that for us. In the event he made the necessary arrangements and we thus had to stay for one night and pay a fee for not staying a second night. 5. The accommodation was basic and the whole place did not qualify for the title of a 'hotel' - more like a motel which needs attention to routine maintenance. 6. the Wi-fi connection did not work in the rooms. 7. For all these reasons I would therefore certainly not recommend it - in fact I would recommend against it..
There was nobody at the Reception, just a bell. The breakfast schaduled from 8:00am - 10:00am) started at 8:30 was at the other side of the street. Besides that, there was no tables or breakfast ready in time. Everyday was the same... all the guests had to wait for making the tables or even having a bread to eat. And, there were no excuses or apologies for that. The rooms were also bad, with a tiny bathroom, on the same level as all the rest. NOT RECOMMENDED !!!!
Not very much
Manager was very difficult andwehad not read the small print because of booking on a mobile phone. You cannot check in late. He did not answer the phone when we rang to say we would be late. I had to ring booking .com customer services. He then Said he would wait only 30 minutes. Despite the fact we had travelled for 13 hours with a severely disabled child. However after a further phone call he agreed to wait another 15 minutes. On our arrival. He had a restaurant open and a colleague with our keys and with other clients still dining . Very rude behaviour.
the restaurant was really good with a very friendly chef. food was ok and with reasonable price. the breakfast was really good compared to many places that I've been with more or less the same claimed quality. room was perfectly clean. the place is really good for night stays.
the swimming pool is not so clean but for us it didn't matter since we were going to stay there only for the night and go for a hike the next day. maybe for a family with kids, it matters. the suite that I booked didn't have a fridge.
Reeco bat/ restaurant guy was nice. Didn't eat there too dark as weather was dreadful
No wifi in rooms Couldn't pay by card as machine wasn't working do had to find cash to pay. Not impressed by the owners attitude either
Owner was friendly and helpful.
Rooms and bathroom were basic, but price was not. No A/C. Dinner had to be paid in cash, so we did not try it.
The ad said there were only 2 rooms left but on Monday morning I searched again and it said the same thing. Suspicious. And the price was quoted as a discount but it was the regular price. I don't appreciate this kind of false advertising.
Riza the restaurant owner was fantastic very helpful kind and excellent cook. great job Riza thanks for everything. The owner again excellent, faultless in manners and again very very kind and helpful a wonderful break made better by these people.
Large rooms, and I mean really large. Restaurant staff /owner- turkish guy, is really friendly.
Very hard/bad beds. All of us had back problems in the morning. Wifi non existent, could not connect at all. Very bad value for money. Way too expensive for what it offers. Don't understand me wrong, it's OK but half of the price. Parking is problematic, even now it was, in off season.
