Sonnino Suite  

Excellent location incredibly convenient to many must see destinations as well as to nightlife. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly and the room was very nice at a reasonable cost for such a large city. Simply outstanding value!

The only VERY minor suggestion for improvement is more hours for reception and/or availability of additional keys for a room when sharing with friends. Also, the signage on the front door should possibly be a bit more obvious so that persons are sure they are at the right place when arriving.

The staff were excellent, and always happy to answer any questions. The lady who checked us in gave us lots and lots of information. The old streets around the hotel (Trastevere) are fantastic for evening strolls and cheaper meals compared with main piazza's in Rome. Highly recommended.

Nothing really, it was everything you need for a city break.

The location was fantastic. Twenty five mins to walk to either the Vatican or the Colosseum! I really enjoyed staying in Trastevere, there was a great atmosphere in the evenings and plenty of hustle and bustle and nice restaurants. The room in the Sonnino Room was clean and perfectly adequate and the windows were very well sound proofed so you could get a good nights sleep without hearing any noise from outside. I would recommend entirely and the price is great!

The location was very good. Good climate control, and we had a nice "city view" from our room.

We had three rooms... One was very nice, one was nice, one was definitely sub-par (smaller room, discolored wall that looked like old water or fire damage). The manager (?) is not Italian and knew very little about Rome, or even the area where the hotel is located.

Convenient location in Trastevere. Comfortable room with a view of Santa Maria.

Rooms are on 5th floor and lift was broken during our stay. No hot water on our first morning. Staff never offered to help with our luggage up and down the 5 flights of stairs, and did not agree to any adjustments to our bill for the significant inconveniences. This is not a b&b and no food or drink is provided.

The Managers & staff were wonderful, very helpful. Very convenient to Rome centre & Vatican. Transport (trams & buses)within 500m walk. Ideal for walking around the Trastevere area.Excellent eating establishments.

The room was lovely, very clean, warm and comfortable. Sky television in the room, hair dryer in the bathroom, it was perfect for what we needed, and a great location. I will definitely stay again if we go back to Rome.

Quite hard to find, and the wifi wasn't good.

I cannot recommend this little hotel highly enough! The staff is fantastic, the room is delectable. Perfectly furnished, simple yet elegant. We were staying in room 8, which overlooks the Chiesa San Crisogono, yes, you do hear the tram whistling by at night, but, by the second night you get used to the very faint whistle.

The location in regards to the tourist sites is really great. Trastevere has lots of resteraunts. The Pantheon, Colosseum, and St.Peter's are all no more than a 20-25 minute walk-at most. The Panteon is probably only about 15 minutes distance once you cross the Ponte Girabaldi. My husband and I were easily able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Our room was very spacious with large & reasonably comfortable beds. We ended up with a Queen sized & a twin sized bed in our room. We also had a fridge in the room-great for storing some drinks,fruit, & yogurt. The price was a big selling point for us as well. We checked in on a Tuesday & checked out on a Saturday and paid 246 euro plus a 16 euro "city tax". The staff were also very friendly.

*The hotel itself is a bit hard to find because it's not clearly marked with a large sign. It's in a building with the name of the hotel on the buzzer. I used Google Earth to have a street view of the hotel so I'd know what to look for. It's across the street from a large church, a pizzaria, and a check cashing store. Since I was traveling with my husband, I felt totally safe in the neighborhood we stayed in. However, I wouldn't neccasilarly recommend a single women walk around this area by herself later in the evening. At the end of our stay as we were stripping the sheets to check we didn't leave a sock in bed, we noticed that our comforter had all sorts of stains underneath it. That was gross. However, I'm sure if we'd noticed earlier the staff would have switched the bedding because they were very accomodating.

The Location was perfect near to the city but in a nice suburb with lots of bars and character

The time taken to book into the room and the lack of facilities available including no breakfast the main problem was the condition of the room which was very dirty with other peoples socks under the bed and piles of dust and dirty around the place

The location in Trastevere is ideal for easy access to restaurants and bars. And it's not so far at all from the historic center either. Nice building. The staff was helpful in helping us make reservations at restaurants and in reserving a cab for the airport.

It says there's internet in all areas of the hotel but this is somewhat of a stretch, we did not have internet access in our room which was quite a setback. Also, even though the room was cleaned every day, they never wiped the floors and it got quite uncomfortable that way. We really thought the floors should have been cleaner in the room. Lastly, there was construction in the room that we shared a wall with which made it really noisy to be in there during the day. No one said a word about it to us -- a small apology or a heads-up would have been nice. Squeaky bed. So much so that it would wake us up in the middle of the night if one person so much as budged lightly.

Very convenient location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As we did not expect any luxury, what we found was more than enough. There is a lot of space for belongings.

The location was good,and the bed was large.

The room was a lot smaller than we expected with little room for storage.The bathroom looked tired with patches of mould,as the fan did not work.We also had noise from the traffic as the trams ran right outside the building.On arrival we were asked to pay cash for our 5 night stay, as the man on reception said the credit card machine was not working, after telling the man we did not have the cash he then suggested he could take a photo copy of our credit card and passports. we refused that offer and paid cash 2 days later.Some of the other rooms were larger,we were in room 2 so perhaps we were just unlucky.

great location,in the Trastevere neighborhood, we could walk everywhere. Sonnino was clean, large, tons of drawers and shelves for a four-night stay, very comfortable and the man at the desk was amazing in helping us figure out some plans, including best way to get to the airport. The neighborhood is leafy and feels less city-like than areas across the river. We really enjoyed multiple nights in the nearby campo. Our room also was very quiet. .

It took us a few walks around the block to find it! The gal told us it was Across from the movie theater but she actually meant just down a few doors. and signs in Rome are pretty small, so we pulled the carry-ons around the square and more until voila!... there it was right near the theater... ..other than that very small issue, we would recommend it. It doesn't include breakfast, by the way.

the district was a very lovely part of Rome that has a street nearby full of fantastic restaurants and is within walking distance of all the main attractions in Rome. The suite was clean and pretty but as with all hotels in Rome, fairly small. The district was not too crowded, felt safe and had a bohemian vibe which was very pleasant compared to other areas,

It was not easy getting into and out of the hotel.

Spacious room with tall window and nice parquet floors. Staff was helpful in making phone calls and calling taxi. Central location within easy walking distance of most major sites, restaurants. Two doors down from the house od the famous Dante.

Noisy as right by the tramtracks. Beds and pillow were hard and uncomfortable. The Piazza Sonnino is crowded and gritty, but once you walk in behind there are beautiful cobbled streets and medieval buildings.

Great location with easy access to supermarket, cages, bars and restaurants, and great transport options at the front door..... Tram and bus to stations. Value for money with regard to location. Room adequate for our 4 night stay. Roomy enough and functional. Bar fridge was handy too.

Reception attended for a few hours morning and afternoon. We made arrangements and it worked out well, but if you arrive earlier or later than you planned then it is not possible to access the building. Room was clean, but shower recess needed some extra care as water was slow to drain away. It also needed a really good scrub.

Some of the artwork was actually real for a change!

Excellent location in Rome. Could walk anywhere within 20-30 minutes. Very close to bus stop which gave us even better access to the city. Travestere has an excellent night life. Yet, Sonnino Suites is far enough away from the action (2 minute walk) that you are not disturbed when sleeping. Overall an very enjoyable stay.

Its location is its biggest plus. Room is clean and spacious.

Air-conditioning is inadequate for room size & summer heat. Should have some tourist info on hand such as bus maps etc. The staff is nice but not very well informed about how to get to places and tips that are always useful to navigate in a new city.
