Five minutes walk to the station, but is not disorderly nor insecure. A good area to live in Rome. Close to metro and train station, near a museum and the opera house. Room is clean. Facilities are satisfied. The bathroom is clean, bright and spacious. BTW, breakfast is also good.
wifi sometimes does not work well.
Very good staff and good location
needs updating a little tired perhaps bathroom needs new shower cubicle just old but clean
Location is good and staffs are friendly.
The breakfast was not good at all! If you go for breakfast around 9: 30, you see displeadure at the behavior and face of some staff.
Location is great and stafff were very firndly. Breakfast was very good.
Staff was helpful. During the week end, prices are multiplied by7 compared to what I paid for a night during the week (Monday to a Tuesday). Believe me, if you pay 360 euros for the double room I had, you'll be very very disapointed. But if you pay 50 euros as I did, then it's worth it!
One thing to mention though: it was awfully hot inside, around 30°C in the rooms, corridors, ... while the outside temperature was still 18°. I don't even now why heating was on everywhere in this hotel. This is probably a sign of our stupid world: waste energy as much as you can! ^^
Facilities and accessibility. Accessible to Roma Termini and Buses and locations. Center of heart. Breakfast was delicious and authentic. We love it.
Breakfast selection was moderate but coffee was fresh made and waiters were polite. Rooms were made daily and facilities are on good condition. Rooms are small but comfortable. TV has main news channels around world for free. Free WiFi worked perfectly.
Cleaners don't respect "privacy" sign hanging on the door handle but enter/clean the room anyway. Coins gets "cleaned" even inside cabinets. In shower, hot and cold water change drastically during the session. Rooms are little too hot for sleeping even when the thermostat is set on the coldest. If windows are opened, noise from the street is disturbing.
They had a fridge
Quality of food, very poor Hard bread, one type of cheese Room very small for a triple room All 3 beds were next to each other like army the closet is there but not for us It was closed with a key While leaving i asked for help with the luggage as we had a child and elder woman, reception replied that all employees are busy inside with the breakfast Sorry but for a 3 stars a barely see one star
Closeness to train station and Metro. Also, friendly hotel environment and above average service. Corteous and efficient waiters serving great breakfasts. One minus: lobby could be made more comfortable. Great choice for those traveling on a small budget.
close to Termini station nice neighbourhood quiet friendly staff
- Location... very close to Termini but still quiet - Staff was friendly, breakfast was good....wifi strong - 24 hrs reception... renovated interior and fittings...clean bathroom. Overall comfortable stay... value for money. would like to stay again.
- smaller room size for the 3 star and smaller bathroom. - also lobby could be little larger to relax
Fantastic quiet place near everything you need to see in old city
Location Good cappuccino at breakfast
We liked the new bathroom even so as it was very small. The room was very nice. The television was complicated and dido not cater much for English or German speakers.
Hotel Sonya is great value, the rooms are modern, well appointed and clean. The location is great for Rome sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. I travel around the world quite a lot and Hitel Sonya in one of the best paces I've stayed in this price range.
Staff was highly cooperative n friendly...ready to help...breakfast was too good...location was excellent..hotel was really clean.
We were delighted with our accommodation which proved to be every bit as good as was advertised. It was very clean and the location was perfect for us to use the trains, buses and subway and to access good restaurants. We also found the desk and wait staff to be very personable. We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends.
There was ample room in the unit for an added dresser with drawers which would be nice for a stay longer than one night. More hooks in the main room would be very useful.
Only good point about this hotel is its location.
The hotel is generally not clean as compared to other 3* hotels that I have stayed brfore. Facilities are outdated. The shower is very small, even you cannot stand inside it easily. :-(
I liked everything about it. I will stay again when I visit Rome.
Nice breakfast,near to the station,clean room,renovated wc
Problem with the channels of tv,old elevator
location was ok for heading out in the city to see the sights. They had a good breakfast. However it was limiting for myself and my niece as we are celiac and she is vegan. I did put that info. in when I booked it.
The room was old and outdated and rather small for 3 adults with our suitcases. I expected a little better. Also we had a few issues with the toilet and the drain in the shower didn't drain very well while in it. They did come and fix the toilet.
The room was large for Europe, the bed was ok but pillows not nice, the staff were mostly very good with one exception. Very helpful and polite - very nice staff serving at breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Location was good. Everything was clean.
I expected from other reviews and from Rick Steeve's recommendation a slightly more modern, larger, nicer hotel and was taken aback when we arrived and saw it was very small, old (which is ok!), dark, poor layout of the room, just one chair in the room, room decor was dark rather than cheery, unsafe railing from first floor due to way elevator was installed.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and large enough for 2 plus 5 large bags. The location was convenient with restaurants nearby. Hop on hop off bus stop nearby. Wide variety for breakfast which was included. Excellent value!
The elevator was old but not unusual for the age of the building.
