Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Comfort. Cleanliness. Lovely roof terrace. Location. Character. Good transport links.
Staff and querkiness.
Felt that we were given an inferior room as only a short 2 night stay.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff
Everything was great, location, staff very friendly and helpful.
great location, friendly and helpful staff
Wonderful staff, very friendly; hostel is in a great location, close to the Centro Storico; breakfast is very good, and had on a rooftop terrace outdoors when the weather is good. All in all, a great place to go!
There was a slight problem with reservations, so my room was changed from one in Soriano44 to one in I Vicoletti (the other half of the same hostel (same staff etc.) - in the adjoining building, connected to it via the roof terrace) which was perfectly fine and nice, but the new room didn't quite have the wonderful old-fashioned ambience of the Soriano one.
the kindness of the staff, the nice terrace, the good breakfast, the original furniture, it's very close to the main things ( archeological museum, the Cathedral...) you can just walk around, there's plenty to see...
they switch off the air-conditioning at night
This B&B made you feel like a home from home. The location is in the old city and you could feel the history of Napoli all around you. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and our hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was served on the roof top garden, which was very good.
The apartment was very clean, comfortable big double bed and lots of closet space. The fan that was in the room was not working, but although it was late the owner was still reachable and handed us the remote to the AC. With that said thou the apartment had a comfortable temperature most of the time anyway which was really nice (we stayed there beginning of July) Location is really close to piazza Dante and there was a lot of music coming from there at the time of our visit. With windows shut and (for sensitive people like myself) earplugs it wasnt bad thou.
The elevator cost 10 p but it wasnt really a big deal since we had been prepared for this. They do daily cleaning of the apartment but since we slept in everyday we were still in the place when the cleaner knocked on the door the first day, He apologized and didnt come back again that day. Left a note in the reception for the next day just to say we wouldnt be out and about until about noon so cleaning could be done after that but nothing was done that day either. With this said this was not a problem thou since cleaning wasnt really needed, we only stayed for 3 nights. Only thing is i whished they had put a few extra toilet rolls in the bathroom already when we arrived, cause we had to call the owner (again late at night) when the one roll ran out which was a bit embarassing ;)
central and easy to get around - lovely friendly staff, decent breakfast - rooms decorated in 'old world' style - lovely high ceilings and immaculately clean - gorgeous roof terrace.
room 11 is lovely but very noisy being situated by the lift - somebody also had her tv on until 3 am - room 8 much better (we stayed twice in a period of 12 days)
We chose B&B Soriano44 mainly for its location - close to the centre, the museum (short walk away) and Piazza Dante, which has a metro station, connecting to Garribaldi, from which you can easily (and all on the same ticket) get to Herculaneum and Pompeii. It is a lovely B&B - very unusually set out, with a walk over the roof top to our rooms - we had an apartment (with small kitchen) and twin room for the kids, which were close to each other. The rooftop sitting area is what sets this place apart - it is a lovely place to have breakfast (which was very good), and relax at the end of the day, with views over the rooftops to the castle. The owners are very friendly, with good English. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days here.
A quiet and calm space in a frenetic city.
Naples - it really is vile. Have travelled all over Italy and this was my first and last time here
This is a quirky B & B with loads of character in the old town. Great host, good breakfast and interesting other guests from around the world.
beautiful place! Very friendly staff, room very bright and clean, comfortable beds. Very good breakfast!
There definitely return
the feeling of what we think is an Italian old way of living. you are in the heart of the city fab for exploring you can walk everywhere the funicular is a must! the rooftop terrace is a lovely place to have breakfast.
the breakfast is very Italian too sweet for me!
I was traveling with my adult daughter. We really liked the manager. He went out of his way to help us. He also brought our luggage up and down the elevator so that we wouldn't have to carry it. We arrived quite late- around 11pm. and he waited for us.
I only didn't like going up and down the steps ( the elevator was finicky). The shower stall was very small.
Great location and staff, very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast at the rooftop terrace! Not a problem but be aware that every use of the elevator needs a 10 cents coin (we used the stairs most of the time anyway, but it's very useful for the luggage).
The mattress needs to be replaced.. the springs are worn out and noisy.
Wonderful place! Room with very comfortable beds, great breakfast, very friendly staff
Everything was perfect!
location okay for public transport. Roof terrace nice
The bed was very uncomfortable (mattress very hard and had springs poking thru). the breakfast was mediocre at best, the bread was grocery store bagged loaf with prepackaged sliced ham and cheese. Owners were not very friendly and were rude when we requested heat after the room dropped to 50F the first night.
Angela and the other staff were all nice and welcoming. I was not familiar with Naples so she gave me suggestions of things to do. You can take the subway directly from the train station - it is very easy to do and the subway is very new and modern. It is very close to museums and there is much to see in the area. It is very reasonably priced.
I was surprised when the taxi driver let me off and told me to walk back this alley. It is a little hard to find at first, and it was a little disconcerting. But the area is fine and once you know where you are going it is very comfortable. Just get good directions.
Terras on roof Friendly owners WiFi connection
Entrance in street Lift payment 10 cents
Everything - this place was brilliant. Next time I visit Naples I will stay here again and I'm recommending it to my parents and sister. A fantastic location - Everything you need is close and I didn't even bother using a bus - we walked everywhere. The rooftop terrace is lovely.
The 10 cent lift charge didn't bother me - the hosts gave us some change for it and we actually gave a 10 cent to the people who arrived as we left.
The building was historic with an interesting breakfast room that requires walking over roof tops to get there.
Hard to find even with directions since the street is more like an alley.
Our hosts were so helpful and charming, going out of their way to recommend places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The accommodation was perfect - like living in an Italian couples own home. Although the location was very central and in the 'real' Naples, it was so quiet and peaceful. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
Some reviews were negative about the lift costing 10cent, but that just added even more to the charm and essence of Naples.
