Hotel Spiaggia d'Oro was a resort style hotel, with a beautiful setting out over the lake. It is situated a 15 minute stroll from the boardwalk of Salo. The rooms were nicely furnished, clean and spacious. The breakfast was sumptious and the restaurant food was delicious. The staff in particular Piedro could not have been more helpful, efficient or professional. The hotel lived up to and was beyond our expectations. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent hotel in every way, especially the staff who were helpful, charming and who went the extra mile. The setting of the hotel was superb, the food was great and the room we had was first class. Thoroughly recommended.

Lakeside with great views

The hotel is at the bottom of a hill and the hotel does not provide transportation. The manager did drive my wife and I, in his private auto the day we left because we had such heavy luggage.

Everything was well done & we enjoyed our stay very much

It was of a high standard, beautifully decorated giving it a classy feel whilst still being cosy and relaxing. A perfect location with excellent sunbathing facilities. Breakfast has a good selection with plenty of fruit in addition to the normal eggs and bacon and meat/cheese selection. For those with a sweet tooth there was a good selection of homemade tarts and cakes available at breakfast too. Bedrooms were spacious with balcony overlooking pool/lake - lovely. Ample free parking was a big plus for us.

Well unfortunately we had a 'visitor' to our room/balcony. We found mice like droppings on our balcony step and had heard squeaking the night before. We think it was a bat. The hotel responded well by getting the pest control company in immediately. But the following day the droppings were again there. This made us very uneasy as we were worried 'they' or 'it' would come in to the room. So I think the Hotel should have apologised and at least offered us a drink on them as compensation for having to put up with this visitor (my friend has a phobia of mice/vermin) ! but they were very dismissal of it. Also we visited their restaurant in the hills. We were led to believe by the Hotel it would be no more than 25 euro return in a taxi. They ordered the taxi for us and we were horrified to have to pay 50 euro for the trip !! We did complain but we heard no more from them.

The location was beautiful! The outside dining area overlooked the lake which was amazing. Our room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was delicious and there was a wide choice. Eating a fantastic evening meal sitting overlooking the lake is something I will always remember.

Amazing hotel set on lake Garda. We spent 5 nights of our honeymoon and didn't wont to leave. The staff are excellent and we could not found fault. Will make a trip back in the future. Rory & Kelly Ireland aug 2012

Small, family run business.

Location and the ambience of the hotel is quite relaxing.

Very little choice for vegetarians and the available food is quite expensive.

A delightful hotel, relaxing ang tranquil. Beautifully decorated with the style being a mix of traditional Italian shabby chic and luxury. Well appointed room with huge bathroom. Small balcony, overlooking the small harbour and lake. Lovely pool area, and decking, looking straight onto lakefront with relaxing sunbeds. Good selection of food at breakfast, including a 'light' section. Ate in the restaurant in the evening twice and happy on both occasions, especially the restaurant location, next to the lake, very romantic. Staff attentive and professional. A ten minute walk to gardone, nearest small town, with a selection of bars and restaurants. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Hotel owns farm/ restaurant in mountains a few Kms away, producing and serving own organic food - a wonderful experience.

Only a couple of small things - guests reserving sunbeds with towels at 7.30 and not using them till 4. Shower head badly placed in bath, so could not fail to flood bathroom. Need to be prepared to walk to a selection of bars and restaurants as hotel is quite isolated.

We really loved this hotel. It's fairly small, very personal, nicely decorated, quiet, serene, shore line to the lake, magnificent breakfast, a very good restaurant for lunch and dinners, a nice pool area and extremelly tentative personnel. Full score!

For us it was not an issue, but the hotel is quite stand alone. If you'd like to dine somewhere else than at the hotel it takes a 10-15 minutes walk to the restaurants in Gardone or a 25-30 min walk for a wider selection in Salò.

The hotel was beautiful throughout - nice and comfortable furnishings and although not contemporary it was stylish in a more classical sense. The location is perfect so ideal for exploring the Lake Garda region with ferries leaving Gardone ,which is a 15 minute walk away. All of the staff were very attentive and helpful which made our stay very comfortable, and being small'ish and family-driven makes it much more intimate than the bigger top-end hotels. So a perfect place for my wife and I to spend our honeymoon!

The only reasons we haven't given the hotel a perfect 10 are; there was no iron in the room, the "small" flush didn't work in the bathroom and the hotel sign on top of the hotel building could really use some tlc. However, these really are just minor details as we would whole-heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Lake Garda and stay in very comfortable and beautiful surroundings!

Very peaceful and nice location next to the lake on it's on territory. Free parking. Breakfast excellent with high quality products and choice, and very nice to sit outdoors next to the lake. Dinner also very tasty. Very nice pool area with good sized pool. Possibility also to swim in the lake. Decent sized room, clean and tidy.

No WiFi in the rooms, only in reception area.

Location magnificent, staff superb and always willing to help, rooms comfortable and spacious.

Insufficient information in the hotel about places to visit from the hotel. Information and leaflets seemed to be mostly in German, and though I can speak German, we had to use our own initiative to find out more. There should be something to direct people to the Tourist Information office in Gardone, which is a short walk away, though there was no information on how to get to Gardone. Apart from this, all was ok.

The location is fantastic, on the lake shore, The staff were friendly and helpful ,especially the receptionist. The restaurant was also good.

I requested a room with a balcony, and ended up in a small room, which looked like the only room without one

The location is nice - right on the lake. The rooms are clean, comfortable aand furnished in a tasteful manner. Our dinner was very nice.

The restaurant staff for breakfast and lunch are not very attentive or friendly. The staff we had the first night for dinner were great.

Small initmate hotel. Chic great service, beautiful location. Not 5 star but very good 4 star. Relaxing and stunning views.

Bedrooms ok bathrooms could do with an update but didnt detract from our stay. Silly thing but the bathroom bin was all rusty which could easily be changed.

This was a great small but perfect sized family run hotel. There was nothing that we could criticise as on every aspect it reached and exceeded our expectations. The location could not have been better right on the lake,quiet and convenient. Service was excellent and friendly, the restaurant was superb! Everything time we ate there it was of a very high standard. The gardens and pool were spacious and we never felt crowded or lacked a sun bed. I have no hesitation in recommending.

Traditional and very comfortable lakeside hotel. Very friendly staff. Nice pool with lots of loungers. Very good restaurant and not too pricey. Lovely harbour location. Advertised as in Salo, but Gardone is closer and only a 8-10 minute walk. Ferry point and other restaurants. Good close, free car park, but watch the resin coming from the trees on the west side.

Drinks a bit pricey, but what you would expect of a good four star.
