Hotel Splendid  

Lovely 4 star quality hotel. Beautiful location.

Great hotel but the local village had little to offer and the staff in local restaurants were not very friendly.

Staff was very friendly and the Hotel has good facilities and a private beach at the lake. Really enjoyed our stay here.

The members of staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was in a beautiful position overlooking Lake Maggiore. The facilities were excellent I would agree with another review that it deserves to be a 5* Hotel. I upgraded to a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the lake a few days before hand, I am pleased that I did as the view was beautiful. My sons' room overlooking the road and the mountain behind was still very good and spacious with a sofa bed if we had needed it.

The cost of the breakfast is expensive at 15 Euros each but I thought the cost of the rooms was good value reflecting the exclusion of breakfast. (particularly the twin bedded with the mountain view at 105 Euros per night as four family members could have slept in there).

Everything. I was also extremely pleased that the internet rate quoted on Booking.com (use of wi-fi rate) was inaccurate. It was 5 Euro for 1hr; 10 Euro for 2hrs; and 20 Euro for 10hrs. The hours were summative - if you logged off you still had your remaining time later. This made the 10hr deal good compared to the price quoted by Booking,com,

If I had to find a fault, it would be the price of parking - although this is in line with many in the area as space (geographically) is very limited,

The hotel is positioned wrong on the Google map.

Beautiful setting; wonderful food & dining service. Very clean. Also, each room is equipped with a spacious balcony with a great view.

The hotel is on the lake Maggiore lakeside, 10 minutes walk from Baveno. It is very luxoriously decorated, has a small outdoor pool, with a large sun bathing area, a private beach on the lake with plenty of sunbeds, a large bar area indoors and out, and a spa with sauna, steam room and spa pool. We had a junior suite which was fabulous, large and very comfortable. A balcony overlooked the lake and was great to watch the sunrise, and very private to sunbathe. Marble bathroom had a large whirlpool bath, double shower, bidet and 2 sinks. Lounge was large with comfortable settees, nicely wood panelled. Restaurant and service were excellent. Staff were exceptional. Suggest using the Alibus from Malpensa airport, 9 euros and dropped off at the hotel - perfect.

It is a little outside of Baveno, but Baveno does not have much to offer itself.

The hotel is in a magnificent settting on the lakeside of Lake Maggiore - with no road in front to mar the view and tranquillity (many of the hotels have the main road along the lake between them and the shore). The decor is ornate and a bit over the top but gives a genuine sense of grandeur and luxury. The restaurant has a view to die for and breakfast in the mornings is a delight. We were upgraded to a Senior Suite on the top floor so can't complain!

the mattresses are rather hard for English tastes!

The hotel, location and staff are all top notch. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the Baveno/Stresa area. One of the most magnificent settings I have ever experienced. The upgrade to lake view rooms uoon arrival was unexpected but greatly appreciated.

Other than having to leave, I believe they should include breakfast for the rates they are charging.
