This 5-star hotel is enviably located in Via Giulia, one of the oldest and most enchanting corners of Rome’s historical centre, near the Vatican City and the Castello di St. Angelo.

The tastefully restored 15th century building acts as an ideal starting point from which to explore the city and its major tourist attractions, such as the Campo de’ Fiori and the Piazza Navona.

After a day of sightseeing, relax at the new Spa Centre with sauna, turkish bath, hydromassage and gym or enjoy a Mediterranean meal at the Sofà di Via Giulia restaurant.

On the gastronomic front the St. George is at its very best. Guests can enjoy a range of food and drinks served throughout the day, starting with an energizing American Buffet breakfast, served from 06.30 to 10.00.

Exquisite delicacies are served at lunch from 12.00 to 15.00, and dinner from 19.00 to 23.00 in the restaurant I Sofà di Via Giulia, which propose a cuisine characterized by the combination of tradition and innovation which offers classic Mediterranean tastes and tempting multi-ethnic delights.

At the wine bar, an exclusive selection of DOC wine are available until 01.00.

Meals can also be enjoyed in the comfort of the guest’s room with room service available 24 hours a day.

The 64 luxury rooms, 23 Superior, 35 Deluxe and 6 Junior Suites are all soundproof with double glazed windows, air conditioning, electronic key card, doors with peepholes, direct dial telephone with voicemail, parquet flooring, writing desk, minibar, high speed internet connection, LCD TV with satellite channels and movies on request, electronic safe box, travertine bathrooms with bathtub or shower, hairdryer, mirror and bathrobes.

There are a number of non-smoking rooms and rooms for the disabled.

Area information

A visit to the hotel allows you to lose yourself in the unique atmosphere of Via Giulia; the evocative 16th century street which was born from the dream of Pope Julius II and from Bramante’s genius. In 1508, Bramante began his project for the magnificent Palazzo dei Tribunali, an imposing courthouse that remained unfinished after its creator’s death. What remains of this ancient palazzo is now the St. George Hotel.

Nearby, are a number of attractions, such as Piazza Della Cancelleria and Piazza Farnese, lying amongst delightful, narrow streets paved in age-old Sampietrini.

Brilliant location, great part of town. Friendly staff & super clean. The breakfast was really good too with a lovely court yard.

An outdoor pool would be a real asset to the hotel. The roof terrace (which seems to be run by someone other that the hotel) should really be open on Sundays and Mondays. It's a real shame for it to be closed during the days as well as on Sundays and Mondays.

The serene atmosphere upon entering the building from the heat and busy streets of Rome was lovely. And the rooms were very tastefully decorated as was the whole hotel.

The understated elegance of the hotel was very appealing. It was quiet and the staff very helpful and friendly. The area for breakfast out in the courtyard with the fountain was very relaxing and the breadfast quite good. It was very nice to come back to this hotel after a full day of sightseeing.

The room was very nice, the location was outstanding, and the staff were very helpful.

The price was very high. We were staying on business so weren't as concerned about price as if we had been there for personal holidays. We stayed 4 nights. Our first night was twice the price of the next 3 nights. Same room, all nights mid-week, and the hotel wouldn't budge on the price for the first night.

The staff is very helpful and friendly, followed up on all our requests promptly and imeediately. We travelled with a 10 month old baby and we found that the staff is very baby friendly. The restaurant is excellent in all respects and the spa is great, too.

There was a motorbike parking just under our windows, so it was quite noisy at times. The soundproof could be better.

Very good hotel. much recommended. Staff was very pleasant and efficient, room was pleasant and fitness center was also very good.

We took one dinner in the hotel. The restaurant was a big disappointment, very expensive, very little return for your money, do not use it. The breakfast service, however, was OK.

The location of the hotel is excellent for visisting Rome on foot.
The buffet breakfast was very good.

A bit noisy but I suppose this is inheritant for sleeping in th ecity of Rome.

Location to major sites, outstanding breakfast, room cleanliness, available amenities.

The bed was hard and not as luxurious as hoped for the class and price of the hotel. Shower did not have a door or curtain, only one small glass panel near the front that did not contain the water inside the tub/shower. All in all this was still a nice enough room by Rome standards.
