Starhotels Cristallo Palace  

This is a lovely clean hotel and the staff were lovely. My friends and I loved our stay even though it was short.

I have no complaints about the hotel itself but they have a beautiful bar but it is not staffed. One always had to ask at reception - any one to serve at the bar? I think they could make better use of this and create more revenue for the hotel.

Superior room, bathroom is definitely 5-star. Pleasant staff.

Noisy: hotel located nearby of busy highway and airport, so you cannot sleep with windows open. Connection: there is no public transport, connecting Bergamo center and hotel after ~8 PM, but taxi is pretty expensive. Hotel offers free shuttle service from hotel to railway station, but it's not operating at Saturdays/Sundays. Also strange, but hotel, located so close to airport, doesn't have shuttle service to. Public bus, connecting Bergamo center and airport, passes not far away of hotel, but it doesn't stops there (even if you ask a driver), so, to get to airport, you must either walk a lot, or get shuttle (not operating at holidays) to railway station, and then go to airport with a bus.

It is a nice hotel.

Close to airport Bergamo. Excellent and polite service. Clean room. Comfortable bed and a choice of different pillows. Excellent breakfast.

The extra city tax (12 Euro for 3 people) felt a bit overkill to make an extra invoice of....- My suggest - skip the tax or put it on the ordinary room price. (Maybe this is only a problem when you have booked throught booking.com as the amount is withdrawn/reserved from your creditcard before you stays at the hotel).

Really friendly staff, really good breakfast, not too far from the airport, comfortable beds, cleanliness of the hotel is fantastic. The price for a 4 nights stay including breakfast was great, for a 4 star hotel. It is a 15 minute walk to the centre of town and around 30-40 minute walk to the Citta Alta. Second time to stay at this hotel and I will be back again.

Expensive mini-bar and no gym facility in the hotel.

Proximity to airport

Stange hotel from the former ages. It is not a 4* hotel , more like 2*

Everything was very clean, the beds are excellent to sleep in and the staff was friendly and helpful. I got what I paid for and concerning the location, I have to say it's exactly the way it is described on the website. Very close to the airport and not far from the centre. Let's say it is mid-way.

There was nothing I didn't like in the hotel. However, they use a internet system for the guests that I think it's really unpractical.

It is reasonably priced and fine for the city centre, provided you have a car (which we did). The hotel has been 'grand' in it's day but is in need of a little love and affection to restore it to its former glory. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was quite splendid. It is also on the right side of the city for a quick dart to the airport.

Paying for parking when there is a public car park directly across the road.

The staff was very nice and helpful, ready to answer all your questions and explain you everything about the city. The bed was excellent, I didn't want to get up. Everything was very clean. The hotel is rather close to the train station, the receptionist explained me very well how find my way there, it was just a 10 minutes walk.

Shower cabin too small. Turning around inside you touch involuntarely the tap and get suddenly too hot or too cold water. Old-style doorlock (huge keyholder). Breakfast is poor. It should have a little bit of "italian tradition". Internet connection in the room just for extra- payment. 11 € / day or 54 € / week is very expensive according to my opinion. It should be free! Internet connection in the lobby is for free, but only for 30 min. And/or 50 Mb traffic. And the internet-speed very slow... :(
