Great views over the sea. The isolated location might be desirable to those with a car. The terrace is a very nice place for a drink.
Very isolated location, if you don't have a car you must rely on infrequent public transport. The food in the restaurant was average quality but if you do not have a car to escape, you have no options. The thermal spa facilities were closed, which was not evident from the web site.
The view to the sea and the Arangonese castle is breathtaking. The hotel staff and service is also breathtaking but unfortunately 120% the other way round...
The hotel staff is something between ignorant, arrogant, incompetent and simply incapable. Ok, not everybody on an Italian island speaks perfect English but at least in a 4* hotel it should be possible to communicate on a minimum level. When we arrived the young lady was talking on the phone to a friend (as I speak Spanish I understood that it wasn't a business call). She left us waiting 5min to continue with her friend. With an annoyed attitude she gave us the keys and when we passed the reception 5min later to get an aperitivo, she was on the phone again. The waiters treated us like undesireble guest when we asked for a drink. Of course he was not able to speak a word of English and to understand what we want ("aperitivo" and "menu" are quite international words I thought?). The prices for the drinks have been ridiculously high, so we decided to have a drink somewhere outside (info: the 3* hotel in front of Delfini runs a nice restaurant too, the waitress was attentive and nice, the prices really okay and the quality top!). In the morning the waiter was really annoyed to see us again - he placed us for breakfast (in the almost empty restaurant) in the last corner and brought us a coffee which either was burned or made with sewerage (the smell was disgusting). We don't know if that was "special treatment" but all Italian guest enjoyed their coffees during breakfast. In the end there was an extra charge on our hotel bill for bathrobe and slippers we never used (or have been offered). All in all: Delfni try to draw the image of an ancient 5* hotel but neither the service nor the facilities are 5* (2* would be more appropiate). It looks pretty (even if the style is a matter of taste) but if you look behind the curtain the walls and tiles are moldy, the cover of the blankets have been washed last time in the early 70th (ours had some spots on it where we WISHED it is chocolate!
Location. C 13 Bus for city centre and for Bus Station stopped directly outside hotel. Very convenient. Views. Superb. Hotel Décor. Very pretty hotel. Hotel Room. Spacious. Swimming pool - clean, deep and large.
Breakfast. Very limited option for a 4 star hotel. Why were guests dissuaded from sitting at tables by windows for breakfast when those tables were not in use. ? Staff. While friendly if you approached them, they did not approach you to check if you needed something even if it was obvious that you did. I couldn't help feeling that the dots didn't add up vis a vis staff. There seemed to be loads of people behind reception yet not clear what they were all doing. On arrival at hotel, I had to find a staff member to order a beer rather than wait any longer for someone to serve me. Hotel Room: While lovely as stated already, why was there no TV Directory or Hotel Directory in the room? No mini bar in room. Is this a first for a 4 star hotel?
Great Location, Pool and Private sea access, view to the fort or Ischia. We choose the place because of a big group accommodation. "Prestige" & "Luxury" Rooms have a 2x2 bed that you can play football on. Great chef (sub) assistant and a guy for all the jobs from Senegal, pleasure to talk and always with a smile in the face.
Shabby Condition of the hotel, air-conditioning not working, poor and cheap construction of the rooms, bad taste in hideous decoration. Under-staffed both in quantity and quality of personnel, with only one person within the entire stay talking English on a level that can actually communicate, rude and unhelpful. Cancelled the verbal agreement to extend the stay of a friend couple, while the girl had a food poisoning, only because they could rent the room in a higher price. I generally don't like reading reviews of places where people complain about places they have been, and this is the revenge. Unless you are a tasteless, uneducated middle aged bad-mannered nouveau-riche, I don't think you will find any pleasure in staying at this place. Probably a gem in the older days...
The beach, the sea, the view. Food was OK.
The bubble bath was not working, the airconditioning was always on and could only be turned off by tampering with the main panel. They woke up random guests to move cars in the parking.
The hotel has a private view amazing directly on the beach facing the castle built on top of a little island in the sea. I was astonished by the sunset and sunrise !! I loved the colourful beautiful typical picture frames, flooring tiles, large vases and 18 century golden forniture. Nice little internal termal pool, lovely outside pool next to romantic porch with sofas and coffee tables to enjoy the view. Very well organised connection with the other spa hotel with more pools. The staff was everytime helping us with very friendly attitude. I strongly suggest to book at this hotel !! I would go back again and i hope soon. Thank you for making us feel in a very pittoresc romantic paradise :-)
I appreciated that we went when is low season, so they were focused on maintenance and improvement job at the facility. Breakfast could have been very easily improved by fresh soft bread and better quality croissant. Coffe and cappuccino to improve. Dinner buffet at the other spa hotel was very basic. Mainly i was expecting the hotel was matching the spettacular food and flavours in the magical Ischia and Napoli. Part from the lovely termal pools that we enjoyed greatly, we've got very disappointed by the "gym" turning to be a small room with old treadmil and bycicle, still not sure why an old rusted iron chair was there too! That's all
Splendid view from the rooms balcony , best view in the whole island! Hotel inferiors, including rooms, are rich with ceramic decoration and antic furniture.
Nobody of staff during 4 days of our stay could understand English. No help with the luggage. Hotel Restaurant which was mentioned in booking.com worked only for breakfast. Other nearest restaurant is 20 min walk distance. Poor soundproof level between the rooms.
The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that it has an enviable position with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, that can't make up for the rest.
We left early after a sleepless night, with great disappointment in the overall lack of maintenance and cleanliness. Nothing worked right (thermal pool jets broken, hydromassage shower in room broken, fridge in room broken, heating unable to regulate and so the room was stifling hot). The place is run down, the room not well cleaned, and I was bitten by a spider in bed. No sleep due to noise from surrounding rooms. In a word - terrible!
