They gave us a 2nd floor room (due to my being Senior Citizen with knee pains) and a room facing the view of the lake. The room is very cold and no water pressure, and if water appears it is almost cold. The shower room is too small : my elbows bump into the cubicle and the right corners are full of algae... Room 6 Ooops.. Just read aboe. |

Central location and gorgeous lake view. The hallways could use a bit of sprucing up. The one nice surprise is that although they are run-down, they lead to well maintained rooms. |

The staff at the hotel were very helpful, especially Yasmine. She went out of her way to assist us with our travel questions. The restaurant was comfortable, with a great people watching location, and had good food--the restaurant staff eager to please. We loved the hotel location which made it easy to access quaint shops and little bistros both along the main road and up the steep staircases. Our room, stairways and hallways in the hotel were not clean. A crumpled napkin that was on the stairway when we arrived was still there when we left. The stairway up to the rooms hadn't seen a vacuum in quite some time. The shower in our room was not clean and when we arrived we had no hot water, along the staff rectified the situation when we notified them. |

The balcony room with a view over the lake was well worth the extra cost - lovely view, and very close to the boats. There is a bit of bustle from below, but it didn't disturb me, and there was no problem sleeping - you just feel near the centre of things but with a wonderful view. As usual, you could leave your bags safely for the day after checking out, for no extra charge. The dinners were very good, and hotel residents got 10% off. The woman I dealt with most of the time was very helpful, as were the waiters. The hotel has a pleasantly quirky atmosphere - with traditional features combined with striking modern art and dramatic light fittings in the restaurant. The coffee at breakfast was good and unlimited. Compared to other Italian lakeside hotels I've stayed in, the breakfasts were limited in choice though fine in quantity- just white bread, a croissant and jam, cheese and ham, and a yogurt, and one small glass of fruit juice with no refill. A choice of fresh fruit, cereal, and wholemeal bread or pane rustica (available at dinner) would have been appreciated at breakfast. I would have appreciated a fridge, a table (for the balcony) and more information on paper (e.g. breakfast times) and more than 6 coathangers. My television didn't work as there was no remote control and when I asked about it I was told nothing could be done till morning. |

The hotel is perfectly located in the town, overlooking the lake. The room was pleasant but simple, don't expect air conditioning! I think the restaurant is the focus of the business but as long as you're not looking for the ultimate in luxury or modern designer fittings this was a really good value for money hotel. Nice breakfast included |

Everyone was exceptionally helpful, especially with information on the local sights and travel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The location, next to the ferries was fabulous. It was a little antique, then I have no objection to this, it actually added character and is reflected in the price. |

We had said we had to leave by 8 AM in the morning. At that time the hotel and restaurant had no one but us, and was completely dark. We were able to find our way out only by a very circuitous route through the kitchen and back alley, leaving the key in the kitchen. We hope we are only charged for the one night. Otherwise the room was fine, the view superb, and the staff initially nice to us. |

The Hotel Britannia Excelsior is set directly on the lake and has fantastic views. Its convenient location makes it easy for you to reach all of the attractions around Como. |
Admire the view across the lake as you enjoy breakfast on the terrace; what a great way to start your day at Park Hotel, which overlooks Lake Como. |
Hotel Bellagio is located in Bellagio’s pretty old town and offers terrific views over Lake Como. This boutique hotel offers excellent services including an on-site gym and relaxing sauna. |
