A short walk to the centre, I found parking just outside porta Sant’Antonio, where recommended, I have parked there before as I know Sulmona. Clean, compact and perfectly functional, mini-kitchen was more than I needed, internet, tv, all great.

Everything was great! My husband and I stayed here in February during winter and temperatures outside tend to be quite cold, but the hotel was warm and cozy, and you have control over the room temperature.. A great place to stop at for a few days if you're travelling round Abruzzo. The train ride from Rome was very easy, and we were able to visit Lago di Scanno and Scanno itself by bus. Sulmona itself has a fantastic historic town centre with lots of little streets to explore. We enjoyed some great food and the most memorable ice creams ... And of course, lots of confetti Pellini! We hope to come back again next year!

Very positive.
Very positive. Surprisingly large, pleasant old section of city with down-to-earth charm. Hardly any tourists - too bad because Sulmona has an excellent, first rate tourist office. Spectacular, snow-capped mountains. In the heart of little-visited Abruzzo where amazing medieval castles abound. Has a must-go to restaurant called Clemente. People friendly and welcoming. We went for family research and stayed for the pleasure of the town & region. Just be sure you don’t stay at the bed & breakfast place called Villa Del Poeta! :)

Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center.
Sulmona is a smallish town with a medieval center. It is a fantastic base from which to take day trips to any of 3 national parks, the Adriatic Sea, and museums galore. If you’re interested in getting off the beaten path but maintaining high-end comforts, Sulmona is ideal. Bonus: there are at least 2 restaurants in town that have earned Michelin nods and stars (Gino’s and Clemente).

Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi.
Nice quaint Italian city on route through Abruzzi. Piazza with aqueduct and views nice. Market day was fun. Mountain views with a gelato nice and can’t forget some sweet confetti. A few hours is enough on a drive through stop.
We loved this place- from the lovely courtyard behind the large front doors, to our stunning room ( we had the ground floor) beautiful shower and most comfortable bed. The amazing roof top terrace where we had our very good breakfast. Marta the owner was lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place and return the next time we are in Sulmona. The location was great and we parked for free a few minutes walk away. We stay in a lot of different hotels, but this one really surprised us in a good way!
Very nicely renovated apartment that was very comfortable for our stay in Sulmona. Free parking lot was a bonus with a steep walk uphill to the apartment. Good shower, great living room and kitchen with most things you would need. The washing machine was a bonus and the balcony got enough sun to dry the washing. A really great location right in the old town. Don't miss the Wednesday and Saturday markets for your fresh produce.
This is the only place I will stay in Sulmona. Luciano is the best. His apartment is beautiful. Luciano is always so helpful. The apartment has everything you need. Once you walk out of the elevator into the apartment you can't help but love it. The outstanding views is worth it. I love spending time on the terrace just looking at Sulmona's beauty. I love staying here. Luciana is a great host.
Gem of a place! Amazing host, helped us with recommendations in the area and bookings as well. Location is superb, in the old city. The terrace is unbelievable, breathtaking view on Sulmona and surrounding villages and mountains with snowy peaks. Highly recommended! Thank you Marta for your hospitality!
The apartment was a convenient and perfect location in Sulmona and was clean and comfortable. Our host, Victor, was hospitable and easy to reach. He invited us to his rooftop to enjoy the views and shared all the recs he had of where to visit during our stay. We would love to visit again!
Lovely little Grancia near the Porta Napoli, full of character and maintained traditional decor. I stayed in a room with a balcony looking out into the street, enjoying the sounds of Sulmona life. Breakfast was exceptional, prepared and served with care and attention to detail.
