Host was accommodating and communicated quickly. Also gave us some good tips on where to go. Secluded and quiet location for exploring the area. Breakfast was excellent and filling. We were able to buy a bottle of wine right there so didn’t have to go back into town after a long day exploring. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable stay!
Located in Capoterra, 12 mi from Cagliari’s historic center and 5-minute drive from the beach, B&B Gassa d'Amante offers simple rooms with a daily sweet breakfast.

In Capoterra, just 2 miles from the sandy beaches of Maddalena, the B&B Il Vigneto has grounds with free BBQ facilities. It has free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned accommodations.
If you have a car you can explore beaches. It was August so many beaches were quite full, and normally you had to call to book.
We went without calling and almost always found a spot somewhere (2 sunbeds and beach umbrella). It is impossible to stay on the beach with 33 degrees without an umbrella. Bring your own or rent one (in August the prices are high -50 euros).
Only Spiagga Tuerreda was completely full and we would have to queue to get in.
An interesting beach is Spiaggia di Nora (it also has 2 restaurants and archelogical site), so you can spend whole day there.
Some beaches are reserved by the hotels nearby and you cannot use them- normally in one bay there are two or three beaches, one to book, one free, one from the hotel.
I loved that you could see flamingos everywhere (from the highway, near beaches, next to our hotel).
I would avoid going again in August though - it was too hot go walking in the city , to go birdwatching and cycling in the flamingo park (Molentargius)...Also, prices were much higher than out of season.

We really liked the discussions with Antonio and his wife about the island of Sardinia and local culture and history. They recommanded us very good restaurants and places to visit in the region. Capoterra is only about 15-minute drive from Cagliari.

A better place to stay at the end of our trip, far away from ugly buildings in the center of Cagliari, the ugly port and giant chemicals companies in the vicinity.
One needs to drive over 40mn to get to nice beaches and scenery of big mountains + olive groves.
Parking at most beaches at the end is 8 € !
Sardinia is excellent for swimming in beautiful and clear ocean water.
Still have to be carful of where one swims as there is alwys a bad smell of maybe "sewage" going to the ocean!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property.
It is clean, large, well equipped and dog friendly with a big and fully fenced courtyard which includes secure off street parking.
We spent our days in Cagliari which is about 20 minutes away but wished we had spent some time in the village of Capoterra as it looks like a charming old area.
The property is owned by Marcelo, a young man who went out of his way to help us and was very reliable with any questions we had. No hesitation from us about staying there again.
Stuff was friendly, Michelangelo especially.
The dinner buffet was surprisingly good.
They have a nice pool with sunbeds under the sun and big sofas under shadow, which was great in the mornings.
Very good water flow in the rooms.
We also liked Luchia - a lovely fluffy cat that would show up in the mornings to demand some attention, and eventually, you can see her in the evening, but only if she's in a mood.
The flamingos were in the lagoon in front of the hotel when we visited
Mara is incredible with her service. A nice drink and some snacks to welcome us. Super clean room, everything we needed.
Driving down from Cagliari the first time was odd. Lots of industry. We were wondering where would end up. But when you get there it’s like a mini resort. If you drive up from Pula you won’t notice it at all. It was an odd location, but we’d love to stay here again. Think mini resort!
The hotel was fairly close to the airport and allowed for a late check in. The room I stayed in was very large and was clean. The facilities and breakfast was nice, would stay again for a short trip. The hotel is good value for money and the pictures did reflect the actual hotel.
If you want to feel real Italian countryside, there is no better place for you. You get everything - beautiful landscape, piece and quiet and home-like feeling due to the host and great country house adapted to B&B. Marcello makes the place unique in the whole Sardinia.
The property itself was in a great, safe location outside of Cagliari. Very easy to get to! The host, Antonio, was very kind, gracious and helpful. He answered any and all of our questions. The property was beautiful, and the breakfast outside was such a nice touch.
Beautiful place. The room looks like it is brand new. Great location. Minutes from the beach. Great restaurants. Minutes from Cagliari. The host was very accommodating. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday. We loved it so much we extended our stay.
The rooms are large, super clean, there is a large common area with a pool table and table tenis. The location is quiet and safe. One of the best beaches of Sardinia (Chia) is cca 35 min. (There are closer ones, but it is worth it to drive to Chia)
Quiet and great location to reach the beautiful beaches south west of Cagliari avoiding the stress to pass through the center. Big rooms and comfortable bedding. Good breakfast and dinner too!
location was lovely, just as in the pictures. We could hear the sea from our balcony. Local restaurant, and snack bar a few minutes walk. Bus to Cagliari from the end of the road.
Great place to stay, close to the beach, and it's super easy to get the bus into Cagliari. Very friendly and helpful hosts, the pool was amazing and just what you need on a hot day.
