Walking distance to everywhere if you like walking. Gorgeous views of the lake anď the activity going on first thing ovèr breakfast. Delightful bird life. Just a short distance to ferries skimming across to other towns taking in breathtaking views.
Beautiful location! This place is just located half way up the west side of the lake just south of Lenno. We were upgraded from the loft to one of the rooms with a small balcony as we arrived at the end of the season. There is a wine bar within walking distance that we tried and liked. We rented a car to get here but probably could have done with out it as there is a train from Milan that gets into the main town of Como and from there you can catch a bus for around $3euros to the hotel. THere is also a ferry pier right next to the property which had a sign that said the ferry stop will be serviced in 2015. I cannot get over the view of this place. You have a beautiful private villa next door and you also have the Isla Comacina (island) on the opposite side. I'm the type of person who cannot sit still and here at this hotel all I wanted to do was just stare at the beautiful view. I could not get enough! Breakfast room has amazing view as well and the staff were accommodating. They let us have breakfast out on the terrace in the fresh air which is even better!
The bath/shower leaked a lot of water onto the floor. It probably needs to be re-sealed. It would be good if there was a hook higher up on the wall to hold the shower hose in place otherwise you have to be careful as the shower screen isnt' long enough block splashes from shower.
the room was beautiful and view stunning. Food amazing if a bit pricey.
the narrow roads getting to and from.
Location was phenomenal - right on the water; hotel itself is beautiful, restaurant is Michelin rated, grounds are beautiful, parking is very convenient and reasonable, staff is great, rooms and bathrooms were beautiful - shower was the best I had on my 10 day Italy trip! I would stay again and highly recommend to others!
one minor issue was that the toilet kept running - one of the staff came up and showed me the trick to get it to stop and it worked fine - I am sure they have it fixed by now
There's only a few hotels around the lake having their own waterfront but this old villa is one of them. Imagine a nice view of the lake at breakfast or at sunset & sunrise. Rooms and furnitures have also a friendly ancient mood...
My husband and I stayed for two nights in a Superior Room. The view and terrace were magical and the comfort and service superb. Loved the boutique size of Taberna Bleu, the ferry landing just below, the dining area, the garden, everything! Marie and Brian, Auckland, New Zealand.
Difficult to find.
View Beautiful room Breakfast
No wifi Not close to anything Can't really walk to anywhere as the roads are so narrow but that's not the motels fault.
Restaurant was expensive.
The room size and view Cleanliness Helpful staff The hotel position
The breakfast The Wi fi
I loved this hotel. The location is superb. We had a top floor lake view bedroom with a small balcony. The room was very tasteful and pretty large. The view is amazing. We drove around a lot of lake como and honestly didn't see a view I would have preferred. I'm not sure why the main stock photo is taken in the fog! I almost cancelled this place as the photos didn't look great but I'm so glad that we didn't. Large free car park as well which is a bonus. Cant wait to go back.
Very little... but.. How hard is it to put in a holder for the shower head so you can stand in the bath and have a shower! Some rooms have showers and no bath and ours had a bath with a hand held shower but they could have easily made it a proper shower over the bath.
Situated on the water edge, right by the lake ferry boat docking point. We had a terrace room, which was great. The staff was helpful with advise and friendly.
The bed is really not what is expected of such a high price establishment. The pillows was non-existent. The breakfast as mandane and not worth the effort.
Everything. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.walking right from Taverna and then down the little passages to the waterfront a number of small eating places. Catch bus C10 to Maggio from Como railway station tell driver Taverna Bleu at Sala Comacina.
There was nothing to dislike.
Helpful staff ease to catch the ferry
excellent location with ferry nearby.
menu rather restricted and pricey
Stunning views. Very convenient for the ferry. Quiet and peaceful. Picturesque terrace. Good, varied breakfast. Helpful staff. Easy parking.
Steep stairs to loft rooms although the views from there were breathtaking. Restaurant closed on Tuesdays. Positives far outweigh these minor niggles.
Elegant hotel with wonderful quiet location and great views, friendly helpful staff, great food. Hope to return some day.
The location and information about the zone ptovided by the receptionist.
Very friendly and welcoming staff; wonderful views; provision of gluten free/vegetarian food. Secure parking.
Road next to hotel very busy.
port was right at the property, hotelier and staff were friendly and helpful. parking is available at the property. restaurant is at a good level.
Internet connection was almost non existent. the town itself does not offer much.
Location - right on the lake with wonderful views. Breakfast out on the lakeside is heavenly - even if you have to have breakfast inside, the wonderful big windows provide a fabulous view. Very friendly and helpful staff. Impeccably maintained and very clean. Large private car park.
Not much going on in the village of Sala Comacina, but as long as you have a car, that's not a problem.
Fabulous lake views, ample parking, nice big rooms, clean and comfortable, free wi-fi with good connection, room rates reasonable
Bathroom was a bit dated, hotel bar was very expensive (8 Euros for a small bottle of beer), restaurant menu was limited and the prices high, so we chose to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was basic and we had to ask three times for some milk. Nearest village is 20 minutes walk away, no pavements and the roads are very narrow and busy - you really need a car to stay here.
Everything was great. Stunning property, highly attentive staff, fabulous service, excellent food and wine. Exceptional value for money. Would be willing to pay even more. We loved it! Can't wait to come back.
They had some problems with wifi but that is the only negative.
Loved the easy location and the 'private' jetty. Friendly informative staff and breakfast under the trees right by the water. We booked it off the internet and it far exceeded our expectations.
Beautiful location Great terrace with view on lake Excellent dinner
