Just a 5-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, Hotel De Petris has elegant rooms in the center, and a spacious terrace with views of Rome’s sights.
Score from 938 reviews Good
There are only about 50 cm between the window and the bathroom wall, so there is very little natural light in the room.
We had asked for a quiet room and it was definitely quiet. The room was of a good size.
We are used to the fact that hotel rooms in Europe are not huge and this hotel is a historic building and we did not expect all rooms being standard... BUT.. our room was tiny by all means. It felt like a closet. It didn't even have a proper door, it was a sliding door. Having looked at the floor plan, there were other rooms a lot larger than ours, we felt a little cheated paying the same rate with the others. We didn't have any problem but if you are a little bit tall and wide, the shower can feel quite narrow.
The location was great: right behind Piazza Navona... Breakfast in bed was pretty cool. The bathroom had more space than the room itself...
There was something wrong with tea water. :/
Location, atmosphere of old building, room, the view from balcony, 100 stairs and the breakfast (except Tea water was tasting bad). Staff was very nice and helpful! We Will come Back ☺
Perfect location for all day walks.Friendly and very helpful staff. The night shift Rabih makes you feel at home.Uniqe decoration ages back ,helps you get into the mood.
breakfast is very good!! lots of things to choose
they claim they give free internet access all over the hotel but actually it doesn't working
central location - everything was on foot access or the buses was passing near by very helpful staff and very kind the room amazing very clean
Location superb,helpful and friendly staff
I have requested a room with balcony and I was disappointed that we were accommodated in one without it even though I had the reservation month and a half before our stay. The breakfast may be richer and include some fresh fruits.
I like most the locations. In the heart of the historic centre every location is easy accessible. Even the Colosseum and the Vatican are just 20 minutes away by food. There are plenty of nice restaurants and shops just next to the hotel. The stuff is very nice and friendly. Rooms are clean and warm.
We had the Junior suite. It smelled a little nasty when we went in for the first time. Old smell, like the windows weren't open in a long time. Nice terrace with great view. Breakfast is served in your room but it's rather poor and the orange juice, forget about it. The room looked nice however. The bed was a little uncomfortable and they could change those old blankets. What bothered me was that when we came back inside our room, I found a do not disturb sign on our door(which we have not left there) and the room was not cleaned up. I called the reception and they claimed I had left that sign on the door knob, yet, if I have, why did they come in anyway just to get the breakfast tray?! I would have expected to come back to a clean room since we paid for the junior sweet. I do recommend this hotel for the location and "old" feeling to it. Not for the services.
You pay for the location. It is set in an old superbe building 2 minutes away from Piazza Navona, Cafe de la pace, Bar del figo. It's located in a nice area to go out at night for dinner and drinks. You are at a 10min walking distance from Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna. The Vatican is also rather close.
room was smaller than expected - breakfast option is limited
location and staff
- Single room on ground floor had no daylight - Bad sewage smell in room - Loud music next door prevented early night
- Friendly staff - Great location for a very good price
Breakfast was not good. Eat breakfast somewhere else every day. Very few options, would like more options. No elevator and a lot of stairs.
Best location: a lot to eat, buy and see in the neighberhood, big room, good heating (did what we wanted it to do) hot long showers possible, good wifi, would go back for this price.
beautiful and clean hotel, good location, lots of nice restorants around the hotel
Single room was perfect for just me. Nice breakfast delivered to my room each morning before I set out to see the sights was clutch. Room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a 3-day trip. Lobby staff were very friendly and helpful in making recommendations..
Cigarette smoke sometimes wafted into my room from the ground floor.
Very attractive boutique hotel housed in an old palazzo tucked away on a small street three minutes away from the Piazza Navona. I asked for a room with a view and was given a room with a small balcony overlooking the surrounding rooftops.
not keen on breakfast in bedroom
The location and hotel style, not sophisticated but comfortable and friendly
the views an central location
-very close to Piazza Navona and all central sites -breakfast delivered to room, always to the minute of when requested -nice view over rooftops -helpful staff
The facilities could be modernised
Probably the stairs you have to use, but it is part of the charming environment of the hotel. You have to have breakfast in the room and book the breakfast the day before.
The location of the hotel was excellent, close to Piazza Navona. Even in a lively area, the room was very quite and relaxing. The hotel was very romantic. Hotel staff was very kind and happy to help you
The location The room with balcony Good sized room Friendly staff
Very helpful staff. They even organised me a car to the airport at the end of my stay. A quirky but wonderful hotel. Loved the stairs.
Rooms small and dark. One of our rooms had a shower, one had a small bath with a handheld shower. Room at front of hotel are noisy as there are restaurants nearby and a bar right below. Late check-out wasn't available so we paid 110 euro to keep one of our rooms for an extra day, to allow us access to a toilet/shower and a cup of tea, before our evening flight, though we left before 5.30, so, not really late. But the room wasn't cleaned/replenished, so no towels/drinks were provided , rather defeating the object after a long day sightseeing. So we paid 110 euro to store our bags (which they will do for free) and pop to the loo! Not good value for money!
Excellent location, very central situation allowing a short walk to many attractions/sights. Breakfast served in your room on a tray, tasty and generous. Helpful and knowledgeable front desk.
I hate that I don't know when I'll be able to go back again.
Extremely friendly and very helpful staff! Location couldn't be better. Hotel is absolutely charming. Beds are super comfy. Room was very clean - I did love the decor and the fact that I was on the top floor and had attic ceilings - totally worth the stairs (which get easier every day). I LOVED eating breakfast at my balcony overlooking a pretty courtyard and gorgeous sunshine-coloured buildings.
The shower in our room would not drain. We had to turn it off to soap our body and then turn it back on to rinse off. After asking the staff to take a look at it the bell hop came with a plunger and walked in while I was getting ready in the bathroom to plunge the shower. We found a MUCH NICER hotel a block away for only $20 a night. Would not recommend this hotel.
