Hotel Teatro Pace  

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel and I was amazed to see how close it was to Plaza Navona, is around the corner. It was my first time in Italy and I had just taken a tour around the country, and felt that I needed some days for myself to see Rome and its marvelous ancient treasures. This hotel offered me that ease to walk to all the places that are "touristy". It does not have a lift, but they are so, so helpful, they took my suitcase up the stairs, and I did not felt I needed an elevator. Being a small hotel, I felt like I was home. I recommend it highly.

My first impression was terrific. I enjoyed the reception and thought the room was just right. Small, but comfy.The neighborhood close to Piazza Navona was full of charm. Great restaurant recommendation! (Nearby Ciccio Bomba)

Was I deceived? No wifi (not even as promised at breakfast in the next door restaurant). The tv (remote) would not function correctly. At 5 A.M. I was awakened by the drainage pipe outside my window. Was it sewer? (There was a vile stench.) I would stay at this place again. (But not room 102, though it seemed good at first) The great price (by Rome standards) doesn't justify staying in that room unless they can eliminate the odor that seemed to come when the "drainage" came down.

Staff were fabulous right from arrival and were very helpful accommodating our young family. The staff at the restaurant next door were very friendly and the complimentary breakfasts were good but very base (toast/jam and yogurt only).

We didn't have anything specifically against the hotel, but there are a couple of things to consider when booking this hotel: - there is no lift (so pack lightly and be ready for LOTS of stairs) - arrive during daylight and bring a detailed map of the area with the hotel marked (streets are very visibly marked and are not a grid pattern - typical of old city centers). - don't get solicited by a car service at the airport/train station, instead find a cab stand and have them take you to the hotel or piazza navona. the hotel is only 2-3 small city blocks away. The streets are VERY narrow and depending on the cab driver, they may not take you to the hotel door.

I liked the location, the value-for-money ratio and the atmosphere. The staff were friedly and helpful. The hotel has a charming combination of a very old building and all modern conveniencies. And in spite of the cold spell in the city it was very warm in the rooms.

Abscence of a lift in combination with a fairly step spiral staircase made re-visiting one's room somewhat of a challenge. But it also added to the charm of the place - I mean the staircase.

The location was very strategic to see all of the famous sights in Rome on foot. The staff were very helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to help us. The restaurant next door which serves the breakfast was fantastic, with genuine and friendly staff.

The steps. Our room was located on the 3rd floor which was a good 10 minute trek up the spiral staircase... Not for the unfit. The only internet connection was via cable not wifi, which was dissapointing for us, as mobile and i-pad users.

Lack of hi fi

It is the 4th time on 18 months that I use this hotel.fo 2 nights. Good location and appropriate price.

First and second time was good but double bed room.after single room. Third time:no light in the bath room .I required but nothing so I bought one and change it ! fourth time, no heating in the bathroom..I Asked immediately but nothing changed...... No light also near the bed so you must stand up for switching off . unsifficient heating in the bedroom ( bery high cell) so this last trip at Teatro Pace was not confortable.

The hotel building is beautiful and situated in a charming old cobbled street. The staff were really friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. Liked the fact that there were tea and coffee making facilities.

Was really disappointed not to have a bath - just a shower, but on looking at the hotels website again, baths are not mentioned so maybe I took the term 'bathroom' too literally.

The location was great. Lots of nice restaurants and bars close to the hotel. Very limited traffic outside the hotel.

The breakfast was served in an adjacent bar/restaurant. Nice idea and if the weather is good you can sit outside. But, the service was poor. Not enough bread, milk, juice. You had to ask for everything, food, clean plates, cutlery. The waiter did not have time to clean up after guest before next arrived Seemed like the place was understaffed or staff inexperienced. Also the hotel room was inefficiently soundproof. Remember to pack earplugs if you don't want to be waked up by crying babies or snoring men.

The wonderful friendly staff and the great location of the hotel. It was delightful memorable stay at Teatro Pace.

The hotel is lovely.The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 nights I spent at the hotel and would recommend it to all my friends.
