Location & staff
We stayed in a room at the adjacent building, which was a fabulous room, but when we wanted to extend our stay it wasn't available. They then moved us to the top floor garden suite, I believe it was one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. I was absolutely amazed when I walked in the door. The room was stunning and spacious. My husband and I truely felt like king and queen. Also, the bed was soo big--bigger than a king size bed. What's better than a king? A pope I guess, I'd call it a pope size bed!
It was quite loud outside of the room in the morning.
Location and staff were excellent. Bed was very comfortable.
staff very friendly and helpful great location near to main attractions yet really quiet area would definitely stay again
Team members could not do enough for us. Location was perfect for all the main attractions which are walkable. Hotel has individual character and style.
As well as rooms in the hotel, they also have rooms in adjoining apartments - they are good, but would have been nice to know we were in a seperate building. Given the proximity and design it can be quite noisy in the rooms due to the fact that you can hear other people in their rooms/apartments - no noise late at night though so did not keep us awake.
Brilliant location, fantastic staff, excellent bed, good sized room.
Breakfast could be better
We had an Executive Room and found it very spacious for our needs. The decor of our room was very unique and the location was perfect, we were able to walk to all the attractions except The Vatican where we took the Metro. Very easy and cheap. As the hotel was located off the beaten track, there was no outside noise so nice and quiet. The staff were all very helpful and courteous; at our request they promptly booked us a table at a lovely restaurant which we found excellent reviews for online. The roof terrace/garden looked lovely although with the weather a little chilly early doors (fine if you had a jumper), we unfortunately didn't utilise it. The breakfast was perfect for us and breakfast timings were very accommodating for our needs. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We used the airport transfer facility offered by the hotel, both ways, and it was excellent, the cars were spacious and clean, on time and speedy.
Just some minor gripes really. I think the shower and bath were in need of a bit of TLC in our room (simply re-grouting perhaps and a little tidy up). Liquid hand soap instead of a small round block soap with nowhere to put it or no soap dish to put it in would have worked better (the sink was a modern round deep basin type). There was a lack of plug sockets in our bedroom (we are quite techie with iPads, iPhones, kindles etc) and although there was a tea/coffee making facility, we found we had to move everything around the vicinity of it out the way just to plug in the kettle because of lack of sockets. There was a docking station for an iPod/iPhone but we didn't use this. We perhaps required more than the one very small waste paper bin that was housed in the bathroom. Our room was located on the 3rd floor at the front of the main building and was directly beneath the floor where breakfast was prepared and served daily between 6:45am-10:30am. I was certainly woken up early every morning with the noise of it all being set up. Other bedroom doors on the same floor slammed quite loudly too, however saying that I am quite a light sleeper and therefore may not be an issue to others staying in that room.
The room, without a view, was nice but rather dark. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This hotel is tricky. On the one hand, you are in the center of Rome, on the other, it is very difficult to get to as the hotel is on a secluded street with a strange entrance that does not lead you to think it is a "Small Luxury Hotel". Breakfast is poor and don't imagine there is a real view to be had from the rooftop terrace, there isn't.
Really can't fault it. Perfect location for all the sites, comfortable, friendly, delightful roof top bar. Would definitely return.
Nothing, it was perfect.
The ice bucket was dirty
Staff and location
Dim lighting in room
Loved the fact that the hotel was situated directly on top of the ruins. We stayed at the villa with its own kitchen, washing machine and lower and upper terrace. The staff (Eddie, Azi, Stefano, Sucre and Valentina) was best in all our travels in Europe - they were very accommodating and helpful at all times. Made us feel so at home.
Only downside was the poor wifi connection - but then again the front desk informed us that they were fixing the problem. We were there for only two nights and this was not resolved even after we left.
I have to start by saying, everything about this hotel is unique. The location is central and situated in old Rome. Upon arrival staff were most welcoming and attentive. I had arranged two superior rooms with the hotel. Staff had arranged an upgrade free of charge, what an amazing start to our trip. My parents took the upgrade into the executive suite. We were able to check into this room straight away. The second room not yet available but no bother. We walked the marble stair case looking at the chandelier thinking what an amazing hotel. Going into the executive suite, I kept thinking what an amazing find. We opened the window of the room which overlooked the street, I could have stayed in the moment forever. When you think of Italy you think of this hotel and it's location. The room had a bedroom and sitting area, open plan, along with an ample bathroom. The service again was perfect, the room was cleaned daily to perfection, the breakfast was one of the best selections I've ever had. The staff who served breakfast were a joy, as were the front of house staff. Now for the disappointing part of our trip. The second room a superior double room was not in the wonderful Inn at the roman forum, it was across the street! I was truly devastated. I was not in the same hotel as my parents, I was across the street. You open a massive green door, then a second door into your room. It was dark, had no Italian view, there were fixed bars on the bedroom window and bathroom window. You shared the front door with what appeared to be one other superior room. There was no roman forum, no chandelier, and No internet in the room. More worryingly there did not appear to be any fire alarms or extinguishers. If I had been told I would not be staying in the hotel I would never have stayed here, if I had been told I had no window that opened I would not have stayed here, if I had been told there was no internet my husband would not have stayed here.

I have never in my life been so unhappy with a room. Fact. Truly a disappointing experiences for me and my husband. A wonderful one for my parents! I did mention to the front of house have you no superior room in the hotel I was met with a no. I do think the staff should have explored why I'd asked this. Maybe asked if I was unhappy with the room and could they do anything about this. Would I stay here again? Most definitely but only if I were guaranteed it was in the most beautiful hotel!
The staff are great. So helpful. The hotel itself is lovely with it's own ruins too. We couldn't have asked for a better location and the breakfast was gorgeous too.
People; Location; Food
The location is just a 30 min walk from most highlights and even to the Vatican we walked in 40 mins. The area is lively with plenty of small restaurants, wine bars, etc. All in all, an ideal location. Very friendly and attentive staff
The noise isolation of the room was very poor. We heard at night, when the last bottles were carried from the top floor bar and in the morning, when staff started work with opening the cupboards on the stairways. When other guests came home early in the morning, we were woken up and so on. Breakfast was OK but not outstanding. In summary, way too expensive in relation to the hotel's qualities.
Rooms - fantastic Staff - extremely helpful Location - couldn't be better - but very difficult to find! Toiletries - Etro always good!
Wifi - not accessible in all rooms Identification - could do with a decent size sign, but that's only for first arrival
Staff friendliness, Room and Amenities, Location - Location - Location, Breakfast Buffet and Individualized serving and coffee selections plus the terrace with view and sitting area.
Me and my Fionce loved everything about this hotel and could not recommenced this hotel any higher. It is AMAZING. We were treated excellently by the staff and they could not do enough. If you manages to see the roof top Garden at the rear this is the place I chose to get engaged to Kayleigh "my partner". that's how special this hotel is. highly recommended.
Everything. Step out of the door and you are in Ancient Rome with ruins dating 50bc actually inside the hotel. Colliseum around the corner great restaurants all within walking distance. Will definitely return
Excellent location Wonderful staff Beautiful roof terrace
No views from the rooms to speak of
Not that easy to find.
