Great Staff, Beautiful Hotel and true 5 Star service. Highly Recommended.
Staff was very welcoming, location was excellent , room and hotel facilities exceeded our expectations, breakfast was excellent and service at breakfast outstanding All in all , our stay at the Westin contributed hugely to making Rome a memorable trip
The price was too high.
The hotel was in the center of the city. It was near the metro.
No free wifi
A really nice hotel but the location is not very close to downtown.
Wifi not free, in all five star hotel it should be free
Hotel is excellent and room is very big which not normal in rome.
Interior of hotelroom is very old,i think must be it renovated and isn't passed in best location in big city..
The bed is big, and comfort also all badtowel clean and look alike new..
Heating was not good, for that reason an external heater is sent to our room which is strange and not used to have this before. There was a smell in the toilet which was terrible to live with it for 2 days stay.
Internet was very poor.
Staff were friendly and helpful. I asked for a private guide at 1am for that morning and it was done by the time I woke up. I was upgraded to a suite which was beautiful. Rooms were clean and big. Great location. Breakfast was wonderful. Loved my stay.
If only they could have more Arabic channels on TV
I liked the room it was very spacious and bright with 2 balconies and a heavenly bed. The staff were so nice specially Roberta from the reception, Raphael and Allessandro duty managers they took care of my requests I ended up with a perfect stay. I highly recommend the Westen for a great vacation.
My booking had been lost, so i got an upgrade which was nice, but really the hotel needs a lot of reburbishment :paint, carpeting, bathroom, wifi efficiency (charged 15 euros a day !) Restaurant café Doney is not good and very expensive, use Harry's bar nerby instead for the same budget.
Nice staff...old charm
I arrived at the hotel around 4pm, got my room at 6! it took reception 2 hours to prepare the room. Gave wrong amount of room rate twice Credit card machine didn't work, they keep blaming it on my banks, turned out IT issue. Very poor valet service very poor room service Very poor bellman No duty manager available Only one elevator
Comfortable quite room and the classic lobby which I miss these days.
I am a Starwood member, stay over 150 nights a year in 4/5 star hotels worldwide and over 15 nights annually in Italy. From the Excelsior's rooms being unavailable on arrival mid-afternoon, to unfriendly, unhelpful and non-English speaking staff throughout, to it systems that simply don't work (cashiers tills went down, I was twice locked out of my room in 12 hours), to a 30 minute wait for a tiny plate of caesar salad that seems to have as many greasy croutons as lettuce leaves, to the impossibility of getting a boiled egg for breakfast after a 25 minute wait, to the rip off price of eur 8 for a tiny glass of watered down warm oj, to the incredible eur15 cost for a slow internet connection, to being thrown out of the bar preventing me watching the World Cup despite extensive internal advertising, to being blasted with chemical cleaning spray while trying to get to my room, this is quite simply the worst managed hotel I have experienced in years. The staff and management simply didn't care - they just want your money and offer no apologies or solutions. Avoid the Excelsior at all costs.
The mini bar prices were high - $7 for a bottle of water. We got a free bottle once in the rest room so we weren't sure if we should have gotten water daily. A casual restaurant for lunch would have been great.
It was so luxurious for a fair price. The location was excellent. The staff and concierge were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful as was the room. It was very quiet. The pool and spa were a plus.
It took more than 30 minures and two calls to ask for a pot of hot water everyday. After checkin, we want the luggage go with us so we can change (it was late). Your lovely luggage person refused to go together with your intro clerk who was coming with us. To make sure tips?....
Breakfast restaurant was too crowded and noisy at the peak time. I went out and used a doney cafeteria.
There was only one guest in a lounge hall, however, a singer & pianist continued to sing and play. Marvelous.
Asked for light color room ended up with red walls.
The bed was very comfortable. The room service staff were very nice. The room was so big compared to other 5 star hotels in Rome. Seperate closet and big enough. The location is great.
Everything was perfect
With the exception of one front desk attendant, I think his name is Cristian, the staff was generally indifferent. Upon arrival we were offered an upgraded room with a balcony for 30 euros per day extra, we declined. When we arrived at our room we discovered it had a balcony leaving us with the impression that they had just tried to get more money for the same room. The shower had no shower head, a visit from the plumber resolved that issue, the bathroom wall had a major filtration that leaked through the wall wetting the balcony wall. There did not seem to be an american style power point anywhere when we asked we were told a converter was in the minibar. It never occurred to us that a hotel of that category would be so tacky as to charge 6 euros to use a converter. The concierge desk was large and staffed with a group of men who could not have been less interested in helping you plan activities.
The location was excellent, the building lovely. The bed was clean and comfortable.
I stay there four or five times a year and I think that many of the rooms need updating. The furniture is old and dirty and needs replacing and same with the carpet. Also the plumbing is old and at times quite noisy.
You have a fabulous breakfast that keeps me going all of my work day. I also like the gym - well equipped.
