Gracious service, local (non-tourist) restaurant recommendations, advice on best times for site-seeing, nice room, fantastic roof-top patio, excellent breakfast, perfect location, lovely and appropriate decor, comfortable lounge/bar space to entertain visitors at hotel, excellent value
The location of this hotel couldn't be better, just a short stroll to Ponte Vecchia or across the river into Oltrano. The little garden terrace is perfect for sitting in the sun, looking over the rooftops with a coffee, or even better, with a cocktail!
The first person that greeted me was Gino at check in. He welcomed me and my Italian Greyhound with open arms. He even walked me over to the ATM so I could pay the taxi driver. This hotel felt like coming home. The breakfast was delicious - I did not want to leave. My little dog was also welcomed and that was the best!
Great location, walkable to all, hearty breakfast and a great sleeping mattress in the generous room
Can get noisy at night so we had to close the windows and lost the comfortable breeze. The shower was plenty big but we had to put soap and shampoo on floor and keep bending down
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and a cup of coffee on the roof top looking out to the Tuscan Hill was very relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the location of the hotel is very close to everything in town.
It was almost impossible to connect to the Hotel wifi and the room on the first floor was very noisy from the restaurant beneath it. Second hand smoking is constant if you leave the window open. If not, you are suffocated as there is no other source of air coming to the room.
Everything, especially the friendly stafg.
The bed seems a bit hard and old
Location, staff, ambiance.
Some loud guests
This hotel was in a great location and the value for the price was excellent
The location was excelent
The bedroom was a bit uncomfortable. They were old and poorly lit up. The bathrooms needed re-doing and the shower didnt work properly.
The staff was terrific especially the concierge on the day shift. It was a wonderful experince
Good location on a quiet street in easy walking distance of all the main sights of Florence. The hotel is well staffed and all the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Public rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. An added bonus is the roof terrace where it is lovely to sit with a drink in the early evening. Breakfast is buffet style with all the choice you could wish for. We were there for a week and our rooms were cleaned and serviced with fresh bed linen and towels every day.
the food and the rooftop garden locations is great.
furniture and carpet are too old.
Quaint converted from a 16th century town palace Excellent Very Central location Florence's equivalent of "Bond Street" Roof terrace was a lovely place for pre-dinner drinks
Laberinthine corridors and stairs. 3 buildings roughly merged together. Route to room was up to 4th floor by lift along corridors up and down short runs of stairs and then down stairs to 3rd floor. Help with luggage required. Not good for anyone with old legs and creaky joints. Room was in need of some basic maintenance, but clean and characterful.
Everybody very helpful. Very clean room!!!!! Slept like a baby - windows are keeping the noise out pretty well.
Beautiful hotel. Very helpful staff.
No coffee/ tea in the rooms
We liked the location - 10 minutes walk to the centre. In a really nice shopping area. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Lovely roof terrace and the bar menu food was great. The staff picked up very quickly on your preferences.
Not to do with the hotel, but a saxophonist outside played the same music repeatedly until late. Which was annoying. It would also have been helpful to have an information folder in the room to give numbers/bar menu/room service times etc. My sister appreciated that you can smoke on the roof terrace.
Amazing rooms, roof garden and very close to all tourist locations in mid of the city
Stylish hotel in a perfect location. Very friendly, service-oriented staff. Clean, good-sized room and bathroom. Great view from rooftop terrace bar.
We had 2 bathrooms in our room it was fabulous. The air conditioning worked perfect, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful!
If I had to pick one thing and it really is expected in a City hotel, we heard a lot of street noise at night and in the morning from our window even though they wer shut.
The staff was very friendly and helpful with dinner reservations. Beautiful old hotel with lots of unusual little nooks for relaxing. A bit expensive but it is right down town within walking distance of everything.
Can't think of anything negative about this hotel.
decoration, location, breakfast, wi-fi, rooftop garden
Anticipation of staying in a well-placed hotel with charming decoration and a leafy breakfast terrace. Booked 2 months in advance.
Being told on arrival that there had been a booking muddle and they no longer had 3 rooms for us. Polite staff but not good enough to be offered tiny rooms instead at a very average (although 4 star) hotel near bye.
Being offered a junior suite at £300 per night with no comfortable chairs. To be fair this was rectified when I complained but only possible because there was another (slightly better) suite available. The breakfast room on the second floor would not have been out of place in a Travel Lodge. Our toilet was stained. The staff were snooty and unfriendly and the experience was altogether negative.
The location was suburb, the staff was helpful and welcoming
The room was tiny, and there was noise from the court yard, next time I'm going to go for a bigger room
The hotel rooms are a little run down and would need some investment in re-doing the bathrooms, the paints, the electricity etc. That said, the location of the hotel is excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was not great, especially the coffee (very average for Italian standards) and the cakes (some were a little stale).
