Torre Dantona - Country Hotel

Very pretty room and environment, all very luxurious at an unbeatable price

Location hard to find, but when we called the hotel to ask for directions, they offered to find us in the town of Marina di Modica and guide us to the hotel. Excellent service!

The situation was really nice and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant.

The hotel was very difficult to find because of lack of signage from the main road. We could not get help or directions from the hotel by telephone because no-one spoke English and our knowledge of Italian was lacking. Being adjacent to a farm there was intolerable perpetual noise from agricultural machinery which made it impossible to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Finally the hotel's credit card machine failed to work so we had to arrange a bank transfer later.

L'ottima accoglienza, la cura che i proprietari hanno messo nella ristrutturazione dell'antica costruzione nel rispetto delle tipicità del luogo, l'ambiente molto gradevole e rilassante.

Leuk hotel met vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten. Mooie ruime kamer met terras en zwembad. Goede locatie dichtbij de haven van Pozzalo.

l'hôtel se trouve dans une très belle bâtisse au milieu de la campagne mais très bien situé par rapport aux plages et sites environnants intéressants. Il y a un très beau jardin avec piscine, le tout bien entretenu. Le personnel s'est avéré très collaboratif et sympathique. Nous avons diné une fois au restaurant avec pleine satisfaction. Il n'y a que du bon: à conseiller sans hésiter.

Sono stato a Torre Dantona la prima settimana di Settembre '12. Torre Dantona è una bella struttura che consiglio a chiunque abbia voglia di un luogo silenzioso ed accogliente. La struttura è in pietra bianca ,semplice, con esterni molto belli soprattutto la sera con le luci accese. Le camere sono confortevoli e spaziose(io e la mia ragazza abbiamo soggiornato nella camera soprannominata “brezza” con terrazzino vista piscina).Il bagno ha sanitari piccoli ma elegante e con una doccia spaziosa oltre che ben arieggiato. Lo staff è cordiale,gentile ,disponibile e sempre pronto a venire incontro alle esigenze del cliente o a dare consigli. Soprattutto Francesca sempre gentile e sorridente nell ‘accertarsi di un buon soggiorno o dar consigli su dove andare per mangiare del buon pesce o cose tipiche della zona. La piscina è molto bella e la colazione è veramente ricca di tantissime cose(soprattutto dolci)..tutte cose fatte a mano e genuine. Al ristorante si mangia bene ed il prezzo e di 10\12 euro a pietanza. Se dovessi tornare in zona è un posto dove tornerei e dove mi sono trovato veramente molto bene.

Nel complesso mi è piaciuto tutto..darei solo più attenzione a certi particolari. Per prima cosa sistemerei la stradina che porta alla struttura(un po’ troppo sterrata)ed abbellirei il paesaggio circostante alla struttura (posteggio ,retro del hotel..ecc). Forse aggiungerei qual cosina alle camere(quadri,divanetto..) anche se nella loro semplicità sono molto carine oltre che pulite. Infine farei rivedere le pendenze e il tombino dei terrazzini delle stanze con vista piscina..perchè se piove tendono ad allagarsi perché l’acqua non fluisce bene (credo sia un po’ otturato)..anche se poi col il sole e l’aria si asciugano velocemente.

Purtroppo la nostra camera era nella parte più vecchia della torre, al piano terra. Era veramente molto umida, denominata "profumo", da noi di muffa!!!! Anche fredda, tanto che abbiamo cercato di accendere un pò di riscaldamento, ma non funzionava. Non funzionava la televisione. Manca uno specchio, a parte quello del bagno. La ventola del bagno si accende con la luce, ed essendo questo senza finestra vuol dire rumore costante. Mancano attaccapanni, non c'è stendino e se avessimo dovuto far asciugare il costume da bagno, visto che c'è la piscina? Carente la prima colazione. Tante piccole cose, che per un 4 stelle e a quel costo , fanno la differenza.

Belle ed accoglienti le camere sulla piscina. Curato ed ordinato il giardino intorno. ottima struttura

Kurz und bündig:Einfach ein super Hideaway.Francisca und Emilio ein freundliches und stets hilfsbereites Receptionsteam.Super creativer Koch Thomaso mit seiner freundlichen Ehefrau im Service,die jeden individuellen Wunsch mehr als zuvorkommend erfüllten.Nicht zu vergessen das immer fröhliche Zimmermädchen,welches pico bello unser Superior-DZ gereinigt hat.Das rustikale Designanwesen ist schwer zu finden,aber es lohnt sich einfach es zu suchen.Auto ist absolute Voraussetzung um die einzigarte Umgebung zu erkunden!Wer Ruhe und Erholung in modernem italienischem Ambiente sucht wird hier fündig! Preis und Leistung stimmen überein!

De vriendelijke bediening, mooie kamer met terras bij zwembad, het lekkere eten en de nabijheid van de ferry naar Malta.

Ausstattung Zimmer war sehr ansprechend, modernes Mobiliar in altem Gemäuer.

Zufahrt zum Hotel sehr schlecht, die Lage für uns nicht ansprechend. Preis/Leistung im April zu hoch, da Swimmingpool nicht genutzt werden kann.

Struttura alberghiera ed edterni molto belli e curati. Colazione con specialità dolciarie decisamente buone.

Strada di accesso decisamente improponibile. Sentore di umidità nei servizi della camera.

1 night My wife and I arrived by train at the last station on the line – Pozzallo. The best way to describe the town is a one horse town without the horse. We got off the train and it was only with the help of a lady shopper in a nearby supermarket that I was able to get hold of the hotel – some 8 miles out of town – and have them arrange for a taxi to collect us. Approaching the hotel was down a dirt road (even the taxi driver had difficulty finding it). Having said that, the hotel, whilst small, is of an extremely high standard. I understood from the receptionist, who spoke English, that it was a converted farm complex. Our room was situated towards the swimming pool and had its own veranda – as did the others in that block. The only trouble was that there was no electric so we were moved to a superior room close to reception – we considered it not as good as the original room. Whilst this room had a 4 poster bed and a Jacuzzi it did not have a walk in shower rather a hand held one which had to be used standing in the bath. We were only one of two couples staying and we were the only ones to use the restaurant in the evening. The service however was good as was the food. I think it is worth mentioning that the waitress’s demeanour was excellent and her serving at the table was the best we had come across in 3 weeks of travelling in Italy and Sicily. Alcoholic drinks appeared to be in short supply- there was only one type of beer – local brew. Breakfast was plentiful. Wifi (free) was available in the reception area and we could pick it up in the superior room that we had but not in the original room. It is difficult to say whether we would recommend it for two reasons. We were there for only one night – intending to catch the ferry to Malta the following day - and came by taxi. If one has transport (and can find it in the first place) then there it may be a good place to use as a base.

Wow, wow, wow en nog eens wow. Wat is dit een gave agriturismo. Prachtig opgeknapte boerderij. Kamers zijn erg mooi en luxe ingericht en prachtige badkamer. Het zwembad biedt de nodige verkoeling en het strand van Marina di Modica ligt op 3 minuten rijden. Zeer romantisch dineren op de sfeervol verlichte binnenplaats. Perfecte uitvalbasis voor het verkennen van de leuke barok-stadjes in de omgeving.
