The property is very difficult to find as it will not come up on your satnav. I tried to call the hotel for directions but as the owner doesn't speak English she simply hung up on me. This meant we were driving around for over 1 hour. (Note there is an English speaking member of staff so you should make note of her number if you are going to stay here. We did not have access to this at the time as we did not have wifi when we were lost).
There was then a mix up with our booking which meant that the owner was not expecting us when we arrived and was quite stressed out and made this very evident to us, shouting and pointing at us to other people. Even when we produced our booking confirmation she made sure that it was translated to us by someone standing nearby that we were wrong but she would sort out a room.
For the rest of the stay the owner was very hostile towards us and made us feel extremely unwelcome. As she spoke German and Italian, she had a completely different attitude towards people that spoke these languages.
I don't expect Italian hotel owners to speak English but we stayed in many places where there was a language barrier but I never felt as uncomfortable or unwelcome as I did in this hotel.
The facilities were not great for a hotel of this price - there was no iron to borrow and the owner chased after me when I left the beach to tell me that I must carry my own sunbed and heavy stone umbrella back from the beach because she or the staff wouldn't do this.
The property advertises watersports but when we asked we were told this wouldn't be available. The property also advertises that you can part outside your room but when we did this we were asked to move our car. However, Italian and German speakers were free to park there.
Sure, this is a hotel with pretty surrounding scenery but then again, Lake Garda is a beautiful place and there are lots of hotels on offer.
The rooms were nice, spacious and clean, the private pebble beach was good as you could walk straight down onto it and order drinks while you were there. I also liked that the hotel was away from the busiest parts so felt quite peaceful.
