Opened in 1936 and boasting local architectural features, Umberto a Mare is a small hotel in Forio, the main town in Ischia. Rooms are spacious and offer views of the Mediterranean Sea. 1. good location 2. delicate and tasty cooking 3. original decoration of the hotel 4. very good hotel and I prefer it among other it will be wonderful if the hotel has the conditioner (but if the weather is very hot)

Great hotel with sea view and its own 'beach' (it's not beach exectly, but you still have an opportunity to swim and sunbathe mostly alone). Perfect restaurant!

Umberto a Mare is rather a restaurant with about 10 rooms than it is a hotel. The situation of it is absolutely sensational! Built into the rock beneath a wonderful little church on the most western tip of Ischia. Surrounded by the sea. You feel as if on a ship. Only steps to the center of the town of Forio. Beautiful sunsets! Rooms are nice, but a little old-fashioned. Our No. 6 had a lovely private patio. Still maybe No. 7 had the full sunset! Sensational!! The garden with flowers and herbs is wonderful. Breakfast is very good: fruit, cereal, juice, prosciutto, bruschette. Coffee of course. Beautiful breakfast terrace! Very nice staff, multilingual. Grazie. It is worth the full 10 Stars.

This hotel was a total delight, our room was on a flower filled terrace with the sea just below. It was quiet and relaxed. The views were wonderful and dinner in the terrace restaurant watching the sun go down was delightful and delicious. The hotel is filled with interesting pictures and a feeling of a cultured families private house. Lovely breakfasts can be taken on a terrace, there are steps to a Lido and access to the sea. There seems to be plenty to do on Ischia and we visited the Giardini Mortella and one of the lovely thermal pool complexes. Taking buses round the Island was easy and access to the town a few minutes away. The other guests were all Italian, and many were returning as though to a friends house. Maybe the pillows were a little hard!

it was one of my favorite and best hotel i stayed it was located at very beautiful place and it was very easy to get there because everyone who live in ischia know that hotel!! it is very far from ischia port thats all

Úžasné místo nad mořem. Hotel není uzpůsobený k pobytu v zimě a na jaře. Venkovní teplota stejná,jako uvnitř tzn. 15 stupňů,takže je vám pořád zima. Když přijdete z lázní, nikdy se vám neusuší plavky, ručníky, nic.

Das Hotel liegt wunderschön auf einer kleinen ins Meer ragenden Halbinsel, praktisch unter einer sehr hübschen kleinen Kirche. Das Zimmer und der Balkon öffnen sich zum Meer und während des Scirocco hat man nur noch das Meeresrauschen gehört. Vom Balkon kann man gemütlich in der Abendsonne sitzend spektakuläre Sonnenuntergänge bewundern. Morgens kann man im Bett liegend beobachten wie die Sonne über den Berg kommt. Zumindest im Oktober, also in der Nachsaison, ist es romantisch wobei wir vielleicht eines der schönsten Zimmer hatten. Da über den schönen Zimmern das Lokal bzw. die Terasse des Lokals liegt, dürfte es in der Saison lauter von oben sein. Das Frühstück war gut und konnte auch auf einer schönen Terasse eingenommen werden. Für uns in der Nebensaison ein absolut empfehlenswertes Hotel für alle die es individuell mögen. Die Putzfrau braucht wohl eine Brille.

Hotel incantevole, affacciato sul mare, è ricco di piante e fiori. Luogo adatto per potersi rilassare e godere del contatto con la natura. La posizione è davvero esclusiva, vicinissimo al centro di Forio e al porto. Le camere sono spaziose e dotate di ogni comfort.La colazione è eccellente su una terrazza davvero caratteristica risvegliati dal rumore e dal profumo del mare.Insomma Hotel davvero consigliatissimo!!!

Tranquillità e posizione a due passi da tutto quel che serve: spiaggia, centro paese, porto, ristoranti. E poi una terrazza sul mare per la colazione che merita veramente di dedicarsi con calma ai dolci del buffet, ottimi... Tant'è che ci torneremo a settembre.

La posizione della camera affacciata direttamente sul mare Non c'è parcheggio auto. C'è un parcheggio comunale vicino (300 mt circa) a pagamento piuttosto caro ( 2€/ora oppure 8 €/giorno) ma per poter fare l'abbonamento giornaliero ci sono solo giorni e orari determinati (da chiedere info presso il Comune). Sulla brochure dove ho acquistato l'offerta (100 €/giorno) c'era scritto che c'era lì nei pressi un "parcheggio gratuito"

La posizione é incantevole. La struttura gode di un piacevole accesso privato al mare. Eccezionale la vista dalle terrazze delle stanze, del ristorante e della sala colazione. Il personale é gentile e disponibile. La cucina del ristorante annesso é di ottimo livello; il prezzo della cena é un po' elevato ma ne vale la pena. La pulizia della stanza poteva essere più curata.

La vista sul mare che si gode dalle camere e dalla sala ristorante è unica, impareggiabile. I fiori e le piante aromatiche, che adornano le terrazze e accrescono il fascino dell'ambiente, sono frutto di una cura sapiente e assidua di due care signore. L'accoglenza è cordiale ed efficiente.
