Right in Florence historical centre, Hotel Vasari is 100 metres from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Train Station and close to the Fortezza da Basso trade fair. It features classic-style accommodation and a private parking. Hotel Vasari is set in 14th century palace. Originally a convent, the building has a long history of owners, including the Strozzi family and the French poet Alphonse De Lamartine. Since 1950 it is a welcoming hotel with 27 en suite rooms and halls painted in fresco. Hotel Vasari offers twin, double, triple and single accommodation. The hotel is provided with a lift and 2 of its bedrooms are fully accessible to wheelchair users. Breakfast is available from 07:30 to 09:30 in the breakfast room, where the tables are set around the monastery’s original stone fireplace. Great hotel with character and friendly atmosphere. Good location 5 minutes from train and bus station and 10 minutes from Duomo. We had a fantastic time in Florence and would stay at the Vasari again.

Very good location, walkable distance from the SMN train station. Also, lots of day trip operators in the area, so good for planning other trips as well. Staff was friendly, and nice. Breakfast was also quite good, with decent options. All in all, very nice choice for us. None in particular.

A perfect location for visitors having businesses in Firenze Fiera congress center - almost door to door location. But also, within a walking distance to Duomo, Piazza Republica and all this area. Staff members are friendly, helpful and communicate in English. Room (I had a single one) is small but tidy and well heated. A breakfast buffet - basic choice but tasty. A microscopical shower cabine - it needs some effort to take shower. A warm dish for breakfast (eg. scrumbled eggs) would be appreciated.

Friendly reception staff had no problems with taking in my luggage until my evening train and I was able to get in from the cold to wait for my train an hour or so before my departure. The whole place lacked real attention to detail and I found the reviews on this site vastly exaggerated the hotel's worth. Breakfast did have a range of food on offer but these included fruit salad from a tin and packaged cake (not fresh in either case - the fresh fruit on offer was very limited and not particularly fresh). My room was at the end of its corridor and as result, perhaps, was long and thin with head to toe single beds and a wardrobe that lacked a door. The floors are wooden but laminate (i.e. not real parquet floors) and overall the place is tacky and rather cheap. I would not stay there again.

the location was great.less than 5 mins to railway station, also no more than 10- 30 mins in all directions to most attractions.The staff were very nice and spoke good english at reception.The breakfast was plentyful., room a bit small but that was expected for a single in a 3 star option.Overall I thought it was great with interesting decor.

Very central location (close to central station and historical town centre). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Generous breakfast. Comfortable bed (double bed with two mattresses).
