We chose the Hotel Vasari for 2 main reasons: the price was right and the location was excellent for our first visit to Florence. It is located close to everything a visitor needs for a pleasant stay, including restaurants, shopping. Transit, and, mainly, the historic centre. The hotel was quiet, very clean and well-kept, with excellent choices for breakfast. We found the staff very helpful with our questions as first-time visitors to Florence. It was obvious that much attention was devoted to small details which, together, created an excellent ambience for our 4-day stay. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again should we return to Florence.

Clean, quiet, friendly, convenient, comfortable, simple and stylish...Great location, close to train and bus, but very quiet. Welcoming and helpful staff. Great breakfast options (but guests need to ask for proper coffee to be brought from the machine at the bar). Sitting room adds significantly to sense of space available for guest comfort and relaxation.

1/ Personnel -very polite, very nice, friendly 2/ Location -quite good as the hotel is closed to the center of the city and at the same time to the Railway & Bus station what makes sense if you plan to visit others Toscana's cities like Siena, Fiesole. 1/ Room is bad cleaned 2/ Room is very small and poor furniture inside 3/ Really the price is too high for such level of the hotel, we found 30% cheaper for the same quality

Location near Florence station This Hotel was 80 euros a night more than a previous hotel we had stayed at in Florence on this trip. The bathroom was minute with no bidet. We had expected (from the pictures) to be staying in a grander establishment, but were very disappointed. The gold painted door surrounds and pictures on the doors did not make up for the size of the room or the bathroom. Also the room was paid for before re stayed unlike all our other hotels.

it was conveniently located in Florence to access the train station and to walk to city centre. The price was fairly reasonable. The desk staff is very helpfu. Breakfast was included and provided a fairly good selection of foods- better than most experience in Italy. Despite being on a small side street, the outside traffic was loud and frequent especially late at night. The windows did not block out any of the traffic noise. Our room was close to the cleaning staff's storage area who spoke in loud voices as they began their work day. They also knocked on the door at 930 in the morning trying to clean the rooms. If you bring earplugs, the room is otherwise great.

The location of the hotel was excellent being about a 5minute walk from the train station and bordering the historical area for quick and easy access. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was no soundproofing in the walls or wndows so everything was heard all night long. I got up a couple of times to see if the window had blown open as the noise from the street was very audible. The street below the window (room 105) was used as a short cut from the train statuion area so very busy all the time. The TV didn't have 1 english news channel...I know I was in Italy but regardless of the country I visit I can always find at least 1 channel for news (CNN, BBC, MSNBC etc...)

Nice hotel but nothing special inside the rooms - very basic. The staff were really nice and helpful and the breakfast buffet fine, and the location is excellent within 10 mins of the centre. Really overpriced - 285 euros for a double for two nights. The room was really basic whereas the corridors and reception is quite ornate. It ought to be more like 110 euros a night for me to consider returning.

Excellent Reception staff and Manager - nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean. Maintained to a very high standard. A pity there is no bar. It would finish a tourist day of culture nicely to be able to have a drink. They had small bottles of wine - but not in a fridge - they have some spirits - but it is not a bar, as such. It is just a counter where the receptionist tries to do his best as an untrained barman. It didn't spoil anything but it would have been a lovely extra.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and beautifully appointed and the breakfast room is decorated with old cooking implements. Bathroom is very clean. The lady in the breakfast room works hard to keep serving plates full. The doors are each painted with a full-figure from the past, which can be a bit surprising if you turn a corner suddenly and come across a 17th century gentleman! Brilliant location. You can walk it easily from the railway station. Make sure you take time to see the SMN - the church after which the station is named. Plenty of small, good trattoria around and the Duomo is also a short walk away. Nothing much. Lumpy pillows and the walls in our room could have done with a scrub as they bore marks of bags pushed or scraped against them. We did ask for more pillows, but the man said to ask the morning staff. As we were going to go next day, we didnt bother.

The location is great, in the center of Florence, near SMN train station, at maimum 250m, in one quiet place. The staff is very nice and helpful, the room we have is big and old fashion furnitured. Good breakfirst and good sleep quality. In 10 min by foot you are at the domo. The bath was very small, but clean. The furniture has a strange smells.

Very close to railway station, a few steps from Palazzo dei Congresi. Free and good internet access, good breakfast buffet ( even very good for an Italian hotel) Rather small rooms, especially the shower.

Cosy room, friendly staff, near to center, good breakfast A bit noisy since you can hear everything what's happening in rooms near and above your own. Unfortunately, no free wi-fi.

A little gem of a hotel, very close to all the main attractions in Florence, including the main exhibition centre. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the free wi fi access is so appreciated! The service was friendly, allowing us to check in an hour or so early. The price we paid was good for the location. There was a slight smell of the drains, but it seemed to be the same outside the hotel. The manager informed us that sometimes with the weather changes cause a problem.

It is very near to Santa Maria Novella station. The breakfast is fine (bread, ham, cheese, pastries, fruit, coffee) It's pretty shabby and dated. The bed was uncomfortable.
