5 min to Metro, 10 min walk to Vatican. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Served breakfast in the room (coffe and crossan). Fridge in the room. SPAR market in next building. Several restorants nearby.
Last day I got email, that I need to go to another hotel Vatican Holiday B&B”. Actually it is apartment with separate rooms. Our room was quit small ~10 sq.m. + ~4 sq.m. bathroom. All 4 mornings there were no hot water.
I liked the location at the city center and the price.Liked the attitude - we told about the problems with shower and TV, and they fixed it very fast.
Didn`t like the carpet, colour of which couldn`t be recognized because of the dirtyness, and they also didn`t tell that there were no breakfast included.
Not recommended at all. We stayed here for 5 nights on our vacation in Rome. The first night we were given a very small room over a bigger one as the owner (or manager) said it was quieter since its window was towards the interior garden. The wifi connection wasn't working and he promised us that the second day we would move to another room on the 5th floor where the wifi was working. The small room proved to be a wrong choice: incredibly small bathroom with a faulty shower and a non working drain for the shower. The noise in the morning was horrible as well as we could hear everything what was going on in the building and also what the neighbor was watching on TV at 7AM. The next morning I spoke on the phone with the owner (manager) to move us in the room at the 5th which we hoped it was better but in the meanwhile we learned that he had given that room to another couple who arrived later than us the previous night but who have spoken on the phone with him earlier that morning. He apologized and he promised again that he will move us in a room at the 5th floor and that he would fix the wifi connection where we were staying. Neither happened. We spoke to the cleaning lady that morning and moved to the bigger room across the hall. At least this one had a working shower (though not very clean) but the noise problem was even worse since its window was towards the street. Anyway, We tried to stay as little time as possible in the room during our stay. Did I mention also that there was practically no light from outside? The breakfast was not in the same building but in some small cafe close by and by presenting some hand written paper from the owner we would get one coffee, a croissant and a glass of orange juice (not natural) per person. He left these pieces of paper in our room but 4 instead of 5. He was nowhere to be found and I didn't bother to call him since the roaming costs would have been higher than the actual breakfast.
Good location - near to the Vatican, small room with everything need. Perfect for people with economical budget.
The manager ruin our dinner, because he called at the last moment with request to change the room.
On the flip side, the new hotel was wonderful. It was Residence Candia. They had a 24 desk receptionist, the rooms were small but very comfortable, it had a small kitchen and a very nice bathroom. They were apologetic for our being move without any notice. They were helpful, friendly and gracious. We will definitely stay at Residence Candia next we go to Rome.
We did not like that we were informed by email the afternoon of arrival that they had overbooked and we were moved to a different hotel. Vacation Vatican would only communicate with us via email and only when we contacted them. We were there 6 nights and had to send several emails regarding the breakfast coupons and how, where and to who do we pay for our room. It took time from our vacation to deal with things that should have never happened. We would not book with them again.
- small fridge in the room; - breakfast in nearby coffee bar; - great location.
- wifi signal was very bad; - staff did not speak english, communication very difficult - staff hardly reachable other than by phone; - room and bed were not very clean.
The location was very good
When we arrived we found the B&B hard to find, we were dropped off by Taxi, there was no signage for the B&B. The carpet was very dirty & stained which put us off a bit
