The island is quiet, relaxed, easy to reach and the personnel very helpful. The room I was in was not very big but comfortable with an excellent bathroom. The restaurant is cozy and not expensive. All in all better value than elsewhere in Venice; worth the ferry trip.
Quiet and secluded island. One can gets away from the "maddening crowds"! Great value for money and extremely friendly staff.
It is on a 28 acres site, part of the island is being reconstructed into a park! Work in progress, you hardly notice the workers are at work!
staff were friendly and cooperative
Shower place is two small and not felt comfortable while taking bath.
Romantic place. Staff is very friendly. Special Andrea from reception. Thank you.
Location Staff Food in the restaurant.
The location is quiet and away from the bustle of central Venice. You get to see a lot on the way there, which is fun and about 40 minutes from the train station (the time flies - sooo worth it!). The faclities are solidly elegant and spotlessly clean. The room had plenty of power outlets, a wonderful comforter and pleasant view. Adrianna is a charming delight. Adrian (male) is a fun character, who received high praise from an older woman who stays there a lot I was talking to at dinner. Both A's are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and speak English - Adrian is fluent. The food at dinner - OMG! OUTSTANDING! Maid service was excellent.
While it did not bother me, since all I want from a room is a bed, place to take a shower, a place put my clothes and a desk to sit at (ALL OF WHICH THE ROOM HAD NICELY!), the room may seem small to some folks (especially Americans like me) used to more room or for a particularly large person. However, with a reasonably open mind, you will feel fine. The room is simply efficent.
place looks little bit difficult to approach, but easy to get there once u understand the water bus. staff are so kind and also the place is so clean. i really reccommend this place! guaranteed!!
Absolutly nice clean, modern hotel on the quiet green island of Certosa, only 4 Vaporetto stations from San Marco. Vaporetto stops on request on the island. Direct shuttle boat to Marco Polo Airport. Hairdryer available at the reception desk. Breakfast can be booked additionaly at the hotel for 9€ pP/day and can be enjoyed on the beautiful terrace in the garden. Very helpful and friendly staff! Free water bottles in the fridge.
You hear the noises of other guests and aircondition/heating from the next rooms.
We went th the hotel because we had booked a night time kayak tour. The combination was a perfect way to experience Venice in a unique way!
We stayed for 2 nights in September and were so impressed by the staff and service. We arrived after midnight and were given really clear instructions on how to get there - the night staff were exceptionally accessible at all times, and gave us a great welcome. On departure, we had an early flight to catch and they provided a private shuttle boat at 5:30am, saving us 80 euros in water taxi fares. Really liked the room - clean and spacious, nice bathroom and power shower too! Overall a great team who spoke excellent English, and went the extra mile every time to make sure we had an amazing and easy stay.
30-40Min waterbus journey to central train station
Location was great, although on an outer island it was well serviced by several vaporetto lines. Good way to see more of greater Venice, you weren't too distanced from the city centre but far enough away to have some peace, space and a good night's sleep. Rooms quiet and spacious compared to rooms of similar star ratings on the main island but by far cheaper. It's the only hotel on the island along with the sailing school and it is majority natural parkland. Staff were very helpful and accomodating. I would definitely stay there again.
Location is not good. isolated island with no restaurants, you should be back to island before midnight or it will be difficult to get to the hotel.
- It was a nice surprise to know we are on a small island where the hotel is the first thing to find there. - The staff is helpful, the rooms are okay, not that big but clean and comfortable, with an AC - It may not be so close from San Marco or from Santa Lucia train station but the boat trips are a real pleasure. Just make sure you buy a pass for few days and not one single pass (for the water taxi). It is not true that you cannot find a water taxi back to the hotel late at night. We returned from San Marco to Certosa at around 11:00 PM with no problem, we did not have to notify anyone about that, it was the normal going line. You also have the option to stay til after 1:00 am. At the reception they will give you all options. - a very nice, calm and green place to have breakfast or a nice glass of wine in their terrasse at night. They have good wine!
- no elevator - no fridge
This island is a great respite from the busier islands and much better value. It has a relaxed feel and offered everything we needed. The park will be fabulous when finished. Venice kayaks were a fantastic way to see Venezia and the tours leave from this hotel / marina. Good restaurant and helpful staff.
The park is under construction and so there is a bit of noise during the day. However, most people are out seeing the sights so this doesn't impact them.
comfortable island near Venice downtown - ideal for a stay including small kids. With boat you reach in few minutes Marcus place = Venice downtown, the Lido, Murano. That is the only one hotel there - with much place for kids to run.
a special beach was hard to reach - maybe because of a construction site.
Just lovely. Hotel is new, essential with incredible good taste. Far from the mess of venice but still fully deep in its charm. Service was so much full of care... the Venice public transport company had to to works on the pier for the "vaporetto" and the hotel took care this had minimal impact on the guests. Pretty unique for a hotel in Venice.
Relaxing location and a lot of space for Venice.
The room was tidy and quite modern. Some staff was understanding for leaving earlier. There was a construction site for some kind of an aqua park, maybe in the future the scenery will improve.
The location is really bad. It is placed on an empty island, sorrounded by some ruins. Even if it is not far from the mainland, the public transport is limited and quite expensive. You won't be able to go out at night after 7. The hotel offers free night transport, but it's still not a convenient option from my point of view. Transport from Marco Polo airport to the hotel is by boat and costs 30-40 euros per person. Water taxi prices start from 40 euros per person... We had a 2 nights reservation without online payment, and announced the staff we wanted to leave in the morning. Their attitude then was quite unfriendly. I asked in advance to have a rose on the bed and 2 glasses of wine. When we arrived, there was an ugly rose wrapped in plastic, in a vase and the receptionist said I should get back to the reception to get the wine, later. The Wi-Fi was very, very poor. They said it is like that in any place in Venice, but we later went to another hotel which had a very good signal and speed. Probably they keep it poor so that you cannot search for another hotel after you get there :) The view from our room was just awful. We could only see some construction site and boat warehouses.
-special location and - if vaporettos are at hand - near to Venice despite being quite isolated -breakfast was complimentary - and absolutely OK for Venice standards (even above to be true!) - clean!!
#the venue/island is still in re-contstruction from formerly being a military base - and the hotel rooms are given a "design touch", but unfortunately, they are only "touched". the interior is more or less looking like an old, refurbished and renewed military house, rooms spacious, bathroom small, shower small and narrow... - air condition loud and not really efficacious - lots of mosquitos - really NOTHING around. you always have to keep in mind how to leave and how to get back...and that can be quite an excursion via Lido in the evening...
The staff were absolutely helpful, nice and willing to solve any difficulty that might show up. The cuisine of the restaurant, excellemt and the breakfast as well!!
Nice Hotel, good team
Internet system not very good, you need to take boat for the center
calm quiet but still very close to Venice by water bus
Position is really marvellous, qiet and romantic, near the Marina, on the tiny island. The hotel could offer a great point as a stress-reliever and getaway location. The view from the window was nice and relaxing, with gardens and water.
The room was less cozy and "romantic" than in the picture, basic-cheap furniture, no fridge. The bathroom was horrible, no bidet, bad and ruined furniture, shower enclosed with a tent. We had a free breakfast to compensate the inconvenience (wasn't that included?).
Even with this hotel not on the main Venice island, we loved the peace and quiet yet very quick ride to the main island. The hotel was extremely clean - bathroom and bedroom was great with a wonderful view of the park from our window, sound-proof walls, bed was amazingly comfortable - hotel has great amenities with leisure areas that include fridge with water, tea, computer with Internet access, cosy couches, and balconies with a table, chairs, and flowers that we loved to sit out on, felt like our own private balcony - the cafe and restaurant were great! We absolutely enjoyed our time.
(1) It was not clear on our booking confirmation that breakfast was not included and when we arrived we were told "breakfast is from 8 to 10" without further words and in the room the welcome sheet said the same thing so we didn't think two seconds on the matter and just went to breakfast every day. At checkout we were told that breakfast was 9 euros, per person!!! So our bill increased by almost 100 euros, not something anyone wants to be told at the end of a vacation when they haven't budgeted in that much money!! We were only truly upset because of lack of communication and for 9 euros a person, 18 euros for the two of us, we should have at least had a breakfast worthy of such a price. The breakfast was so small with tiny selections: two choices of meat, two choices of cheese, a few choices of bread, jam, fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, and a machine that makes your coffee. I've been living and traveling around Europe for three years and that was the smallest and most expensive breakfast. (2) Not that it bothered us but just fyi, the room did NOT include: safe box, mini-fridge, hairdryer, or coffee/tea maker (tea in hallway).
very nice staffs, quite place, I recommend this hotel.
do not miss the water bus.
