Price was very good. Room and bathroom were very clean. Staff and owner very friendly and helpful. Easy location to get around with bus and metro but off the beaten path. Not a touristy area. Perfect for people who are just looking for a clean basic place to sleep.
Very spartan. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you.
This hotel is a bit of a walk from the metro line, so it was nice to be a little outside of the main tourist areas. The staff was so helpful and kind. They were willing to help us find a restaurant, tell us about must-see attractions and always greeted us when we arrived back at the hotel! There are fabulous, authentic restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The food was amazing!!!
Staff of the hotel is friendly. He helped us alot and provided useful information to us.
Good location and friendly
The room was quite big compared to other hotels, and the facilities in the were good. Wasn't too far away from the city centre and the major attractions (about 25 - 40 mins work to city centre)
It is very inorganised. When we arrived the receptionist couldn't find our reservation and at one point he told us that they might have forgotten about us. After trying to explain the reception (who couldn't talk or understand much english) about our reservation for about 10 mins (which is a very long time when you arrive late evening and are tired). Second, we asked the owner of the hotel if he could arrange a taxi to the airport for us at the day we had to leave and he told us it wouldn't be a problem and we will just have to pay for the taxi and the hotel all together. The taxi never came though because the hotel apparetly never booked the taxi. They got an other taxi for us which ofcourse hadn't got paid in advance. This made us an hour late and we missed our flight!!
Very comfortable stay. We were two friends travelling and we were very thrilled with the accommodation especially given the price. Very clean and safe neighbourhood located close enough to all the sites. Definitely a could modest place to stay!
The owners of this hotel made us feel like part of their family. They were beyond helpful. We also enjoyed the location with the many authentic Italian restaurants nearby. It is close to the bus stop, which will give you quick access to Central Rome and Termini. The rate was good for the area. I recommend this hotel.
The air conditioning only works from June 15 to early fall. But this is true for all of Italy, so this is not a negative comment about this specific hotel. We went at the end of May so it was a bit too warm for us.
Very clean and organized room. The reception gentleman was so kind that he imformed me of all the locations of tourist spot and major attractions. Its location was not that close to the Roma termini station, but there were several bus stations heading to sightseeing spots so it was easy to look around. Besides, there was a fancy restaurant with traditional decoration and food and large supermarket near the hotel, and the lift was not that small, so it was very useful.
The whole building was not the onwer of hotel, and there were complicated streets near the hotel, so I felt hard to find the right street where the hotel located. If you visit this hotel from Roma termini station on foot with your suitcase, it will be not easy, because the sidewalk is somewhat bad for walkers and the distance from train station is about 1.5km. However, there were plenty of buses from train station to the hotel.
Very clean room and toilets, close to bus stops and shops.
The owner Roberto speaks wonderful English to start with, gave me a good introduction to the area, the way to get around. Though it is about 15 minutes walk from Termini station, there are few nearby bus stops on Piazza Fiume, and Porta Pia, that has buses 62, 63, 490 that brings you most of the places you would probably visit in Rome, the nearest metro is Castro Pretoria, a good 10 minutes walk away. The hotel itself, run by 2 brothers, is within a apartment building, so you won't see a big sign of the hotel, but just look for 92 on the main door, press a button, and the hotel is on the second floor with a lift. The single room which I stayed in was lovely, clean and comfortable, has a safe box. Wifi was strong and good. Thanks Roberto for the wonderful stay. God Bless!
The pillows were really too soft, had to use a blanket to prop it higher.
Close to buses to take you into city. Plenty of restaurant's nearby. Roberto was very informative and helpful as were the other two ladies on reception .
Would of liked tea or coffee making facilities in room .
Location. About 30 minute walk to the centre.
Helpful and friendly staff, good location and facilities.
Google maps meant a 20 minute walk from the station became more like 60.
- price/quality was good - clean and served the purpose - cleaned properly - silent, room was on the 4th flooor. Slept very well, nice bed. - the coffee bar around the corner had very good breakfeast
- hard to find the location, only a small printed sign at the door bell - location a bit far from other attractions in Rome, neither very frequent bus lines going by. We walked very much - no breakfeast service
Basically, everything!) The most welcoming stuff and very cosy rooms! Interesting location, and what is more, you feel like being a true local by entering the proper roman apartment house where this boutique hotel is situated.
Difficult check in- no-one available to answer door downstairs. Phone was off the hook. I had to wait to enter with a resident of the building. No english-speaking staff. Tea/coffe facilities in hotel room are a basic requirement these days I feel.
it's perfect place for a group of friends (es. 6 couples). Then you can book the whole 5th floor (6 rooms) and nobody interupts Your activity. Small, descrete place with perfect relation between quality and price.
Before booking this place You have to be aware that the hotel is the part of normal building in which you will find dentists studio, private apartments etc. After 22-23 pm You'll have to keep strictly the rules of silence. Anyway it's perfect / budget place for 2-3 nights stay just to visit Rome with it's major highlights.
The location - though not close to the Spanish steps locality, it was well connected to the Termini and the main tourist areas by bus
It was attrociously priced (we paid peak price during New Year) for the facilities available. Even breakfast is not available at that price. There are better options around Spanish steps. Very basic room and bed. More like a B&B minus breakfast.
The room and bath was renovated
The heater was off during our stay although the temp out side was really cold around 11 c
Staff Room Location Value
Welcoming and sympathy from staff
A bit pricey for the stile and location of the hotel (although within the average for Rome)
Located outside the historic centre and surrounded by superb restaurants at a great price! Brilliant Gelato shop on the same street. Great staff and room was perfect as a base to explore the delights of Rome.
I loved the personalized service, the clean room. Excellent prices at a boutique hotel in the best part of Rome, surrounded by million Euro apartments, and convenient to all types of shopping, as well as a number of excellent restaurants. I will recommend the Hotel Versailles to anyone visiting Rome and looking to stay in a great part of the city at a budget-conscious price.
Would like to see an alarm clock and phone in room, although I realize many hotels are going to the practice of no phone, no alarm clock.
Very good connection with a downtown and close to Termini metro station - just one stop. The hotel is located in a great Romans area, full of Roman spirit. Hotel Versailles is the best choise for those who are looking for a good price and quality simultaneously!
