Firstly, we arrived very late on Saturday 15th August. I had Someone
from your office call and confirm our arrival time, More or less, at
this point I was at the airport with my Daughter.
We arrived into Rome at 11.30 pm. There were NO taxis available, however a couple did turn up (white ones) and after some
Negotiating managed to get a taxi, which we shared, Into Rome.
By this stage it was very late indeed. We arrived At Vesta Domus and no one was there to open the door, imagine two women
(Mother and daughter 14). It was quite scary. We rang the bell, knocked on the door but no answer. I then shout out in the street, and was fortunate to stir one of the Vesta Domus guests who very kindly let
Us in. We then found an empty room, with key in the door and locked ourselves in.
We had tried to call the mobile
Number provided but it went to answer phone. The answerphone was on the premises and so would never have been answered. We even tried to call booking.com from number on sheet but that
Also didn't work!
Next morning we met the brother of manager, then the guy himself. At no point did he talk about payment, we naturally
Thought after this, that we would see him each morning, however we Did not.
On the day of departure we left payment on the table in our room, under a plate and key in the door. Dodgy I know!
We did not see the manager again after
Our first day! We were obviously out and about each day, and noted that Cleaner would come in and service the room. We
Are therefore hoping like hell that he/she collected the money for the manager as there was nowhere else to leave money or
To say the least, we had a very stressful start to our holiday in Rome and whilst the location to Collesium was fantastic, the lack of seeing any form of management was poor, particularly as we were two women on our own.
