The appartment is apparently owned by a very friendly lady of an ancient Florentine family, it was of her grandmother and the furniture is still from the 17th century. She speaks some German and English and is ready to give many insider tips for a vacation once you arrive. Her father (?) seems to have established the Gallileio museum. The place is really a once in a life time place for Florence.
I was in Florence on a romantic journey in 1976. It was a beautiful but normal city. In the meantime it has become a tourist hell - like Venice. The only time of the day you are safe is from 5.00 am to 9.00 am. Forget the rest of the day.
