There is nothing not to like. A fan might have been nice on one of the hotter evenings.
Shared kitchen in the apartment was perfect. The view from our window was wonderful. Spotlessly clean. A nice touch to have bottles of cold water as soon as we arrived. The owner, Lorenzo, is very helpful and friendly and goes out of his way to be of assistance.
We arrived at the apartment after a 24km walk on the Francigena, with the last part in the heat and uphill. The owner does not stay in the apartment but sent us a text asking for expected time of arrival. Since we did not know our pace of walking we waited until we arrived. The phone number is clearly displayed on the outside. Lorenzo arrived within 5 or 10 minutes, let us in and explained everything to us. He encouraged us to phone him if we had questions and always promptly replied (e.g. we needed to know about the potable water - there is a separate tap for this).
The bed was really comfortable, the room spacious with lots of cupboard space. We had use of a washing machine and could use the clothes horse from the kitchen so that our clothes dried in no time.
There is no air conditioning, but considering the wonderful breeze that comes through the windows I would not want to close windows in this apartment.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed for cooking all our meals.
We stayed in an ensuite room which was absolutely perfect. Soap and shower gel supplied.
We stayed in the apartment a few days after the Palio during which the Contrade in which the apartment is, had won. For the first two nights there were street parties, bell ringing from the church but this was not "noise" as much as joyful celebration for a few hours in the evening. It did not disturb our sleep but might be a problem for a light sleeper who wants to go to bed early!. However, this only happens twice a year. At all other times, the apartment and area is quiet.
