Villa Antica Tropea    

This is a lovely hotel. Very traditional with Italian furniture everywhere and lovely places to sit.

The breakfast was decent.

Arriving at night, there was nothing to indicate we were at the correct location. No sign or anything. The WiFi signal was not strong enough to provide us internet in our room and we had to sit in the courtyard to get internet. Bed was hard and the room was in a renovation state. Bathroom had areas cut in the tile, hole in ceiling, etc.

A unique expression of Calabrian colur mixed with cupids, goddesses, local furnishings, on the main street of a lovely small seaside town. Great breakfast and easy nearby parking. Easy to find...brightest object in town!!!!

Slippery outdoor steps when wet. Room overcrowded with furniture and assorted screens and electronic devices.

Very warm friendly staff, beautiful Hotel,very comfortable clean room. Amazing breakfast served to you on the roof top deck, as if you were a guest in their home. Great stay!

The staff were very friendly, especially Gianluca and very helpful. The location was excellent. The breakfasts were brilliant.The room was huge and clean. I loved everything about Villa Antica.

The hotel does not have car parking space. The nearest free parking space is 100-200 meters.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, the food was fantastic, the room was cool and clean, the hotel was brilliant.

It is a lovely place with so much character. It was like being in tuscany in an italian villa, with lush gardens and arbors. THE LOCATION TO EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. A 5 MINUTE WALK FROM THE TRAIN STATION. HAD A BEAUTIFUL ROOM WITH SUNKEN TUB AND SHOWER, LITTLE VERANDA WITH COUCH AND CHAIRS

We really liked the hotel and Gian Carlo on Reception went over and above requirements to help us with transport and any questions we had. The breakfast was really good value, lots of variety and good service by the staff. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Villa Antica to others.

My family loved everything! This was our second stay.

We all loved the hotel. The outdoor space took you away from the busy life that was just outside the hotel. Our kids loved the garden area. The room we stayed in was spacious and I enjoyed that it was two seperate rooms. We could relax in bed or on the couches and table & chairs. The bathroom was nice and we had enough hot water for all of us to take a shower after a long day at the beach. The air conditioning was a DEFINATE plus. We are from the USA and are not used to this heat. The people at the hotel spoke english and we also appreciated that. For finding you on the internet and not really sure what to expect we were definately happy with our accomodations and will come back in the future. We have already recommended it to our Italian friends and family that live here.

I thought the hotel was very quaint and reminded me of a hotel I once visited in the French Quarter of New Orleans. We stayed in the four bed suite which was lovely with romantic murals on the walls. The location of the hotel was excellent. The dining room on the top floor was lovely and the breakfast was delicious.

Our room wasn't ready for us to check into until at least 4pm which meant we were hanging around waiting for a long time and consequently missed valuable exploring and beach time. There we no mirrors in the the whole of the suite except in the bathroom which was, of course, being used by four people. I had to go into the business area to dry my hair and do my make-up. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The reception area could do with a real redecoration/refurb.

Very nice place for a stay at Tropea. Beautiful floral environment and a fine areas. Rooms are big with hard beds, and have a sat TV set with a surround sound. The staff is very friendly and helpful, though they lack some English skills and did not manage to set up the broken Wifi (within 4 days) - but there is a computer 24/7 free to use for internet access. The breakfast is outstanding compared to other palces: A huge variety on fresh fruits, jams, teas, sausages, cheese, omelettes is offered on the roof top terrace (open/shaded) - and breakfast is open till 12.00. The train station is a 10 min walk by feet. The hotel is located in the absolute center to start a walk in the old town; though it is quiet during the night. 24/7 reception, you can leave your keys at the counter.

Wifi did not work for devices from guests (current technical issues).

We loved the Villa Antica Tropea. It was in a great location, close to the sea train station, as well as to central Tropea, and it was a good priec for my friend and I to stay. The room was beautifully decorated and so relaxing. The staff was very hospitable and pleasant. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone visiting Tropea! The gardens all around the hotel were very beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was awesome as well!!!

We have travelled extensively in Italy and I can honestly say that Villa Antica has the most friendly and helpful staff and owners we have met. It is a family run hotel and Giancarlo with whom we dealt with the most, is an excellent host. He could not have been more obliging.His brothers also were very helpful.The room was clean and functional and the bathroom was large and well appointed.There was a delightful garden with plenty of seating.Breakfast was served and that made a change from the usual buffet that is normally offered.The food was fresh with a reasonable choice. Tropea is a very pleasant small resort and we found the locals very friendly. The south of Italy has not the sophistication of the north, but if you want a relaxing holiday with good food and wine Tropea is ideal.

Our stay in Villa Antica Tropea was very nice, lovely building, nicely appointed, perfect location in the centre of Tropea. Very good and generous breakfastand friendly, helpful staff.

We chose the standard double room, which was rather small and some noise of neighbouring rooms came through thin walls. This was not a real problem in the beginning of April, but could be when the summer crowd arrives. There are, however, slightly more expensive options in a newer part of the building and I expect noise will be reduced there. All in all we loved the place anyway.

We stayed at the Villa Antica for 5 days, This is a very well located small/medium sized hotel, in the centre of Tropea. Free public parking is aout 200 feet from the hotel. There is no resaturant at the hotel, but the breakfast is excellent. The staff members are particularly helpful, and there is good Wi Fi and a computer station at the hotel. There is a small but well kitted out gym that is much undersold. Overall, a small gem of a place that is clean and comfortable with attentive and helpful staff. You will need to brush up your Italian, as not much English is spoken.

la struttura è molto fatiscente. le camero sono vecchie e il tetto sembra cadere da un momento all'altro. il frigo vuoto e staccato dalla rete elettrica. colazione solo sufficiente senza cibi salati. sembra una pensione di altri tempi.
