Hotel Azalea  

The location is near Lake Maggiore, but not close enough to hear the traffic. We loved the rooms and the view was spectacular. The Breakfast was nice, very Italian.

The man at the desk was a bit grumpy. The woman was very friendly and helpful. Neither one spoke English but they tried, and did better than I did with Italian.

Our room was spotless and very comfortable. Location to the town excellent and included breakfast was very good.

The Manager. We presume he was the manager though he could have been the owner. He was most unhelpful, everything seemed to be a chore and he seemed to deliberately act dumb when asked a question. It may have been because we did not try to speak Italian to him (we don't speak the language) He was a perfect candidate for the Fawlty Towers TV show.

Good location however not easy to get to if you are traveling by train. Great breakfast and friendly people.

Must take a taxi if coming from Stresa and a bit expensive ride!

Location is excellent; quiet but close to all facillities, room was spacious with a big bathroom

Room furniture was mismatched ie cheap MFI style wardrobe,instead of an allocated table at breakfast free seating would have been prefered

A nice hotel that provided an excellent breakfast and had friendly and helpful staff.

One of the three single beds in our room was a little hard.

Fantastic room (401) with views over Lake Maggiore. This hotel is situated in the heart of Baveno-a real gem!

Set in a beautiful location - only concern was that room was nearly cancelled at 6pm on day we arrived. We booked our room a while ago and had received a new debit card since booking. As they couldn't take payment they nearly cancelled so if you are arriving after 6 let them know and check card details.

Good location in Baveno, and not far from bus stop if you want to go into Stresa. Free parking available and good wifi in room.Good location for visiting the Islands on the lake.

They have a pool but it is more light a bath tub.

Everything is generally okay, nothing is remarkably bad.

Too crowded in the breakfast room, lacks some sense of comfort. Food is also just mediocre. The town is quite dirty though.

- Hotel Azalea is well situated at the lake and at the church, right in the center of Baveno - and still silent at night. - Friendly staff. - Breakfest was good. - Wi-Fi worked in the room as well. - Nice pool. - Comfortable bed.

- Wi-Fi was said to be free - but had to pay for using the hotel's laptop for surfing at the lobby.

Good location, a peacefull place, good breakfast. Beautiful view to the lake from our balcony. The swimming pool is small but anyway nice to have. Good quality compared to the price!

Great position can walk everywhere easily. Views excellent in all directions. Staff very friendly and helpful. Feels like you are returning "home" at the end of the day.

Friendly staff, good continental breakfast, clean linen for bed and bath. Although we did not book a room with lakeside balcony we got a room with balcony with a nice view at a part of Lago Maggiore.

Railroad a 200 m. distance from the hotel may be a problem for some people.

I found the hotel's proximity to Lake Maggiore and the Borromeo Islands and its easy access to train and bus access to Malpensa airport excellent. It is a family run hotel and is cared for. It is not a large hotel but is at the centre of Baveno and therefore restaurants and the foreshore are within easy walking distance.

As I have poor vision the lighting in my bedroom could have been better and I would suggest brighter lighting would have improved my stay especially the reading lights by the bed.

Great location, close to the Lago and beatiful view of it and the surrounding mountains. Very nice staff, great with air condition and pool as there was somewhat of a heat wave during our stay. Also good with the parking. Recommended!

The beds were a bit short for a northern European as myself and as many others have mentioned you do hear some trains passing by at night if you sleep with the windows open. But it's ok and the positive sides of the hotel are still making a stay worth.

Ein kleiner Tisch und Stuhlkissen auf dem Balkon wären schön, auch vermisste ich ortstypische Küche, Frischobst, zum Frühstück nicht nur abgepackte Marmeladen, warum nicht selbstgemachte ?

Bra läge, nära till sjön och butiker, restauranger, promenader. Fantastisk utsikt från översta våningen, bra italiensk frukost, hjälpsam personal, parkering i garage och relativt bred gata till hotellet, lätt att hitta hotellet, gångavstånd till allt. Vi prövade inte poolen, men den såg väldigt ren ut
