|Offering an outdoor pool and a garden with BBQ, Fattoria Poggio al Sorbo has accommodation with free WiFi and exposed stone walls.||
At the foot of the Chianti hills, this hotel provides an ideal location for traveling around Tuscany. It offers a traditional restaurant, free parking, and Wi-Fi in public areas.
Score from 5 reviews Very good
Right in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Il Leccio is housed in an 18th-century villa in the Chianti Wine District. It offers an outdoor pool, garden and tour desk in Greve in Chianti.
Score from 30 reviews Very good
We loved the size of the rooms and the view both from the room and from other areas. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choices (including eggs). We found it to be very quiet, but excellent location to visit other towns in Tuscany. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
Although the restaurant was able to accommodate us for our first day, they wanted a reservation for either mid day or evening at a minimum of early morning and this was sometimes difficult to provide based on our day's activities.
Spectacular scenery Beautiful facilities Friendly staff
Although distance from towns not too bad, infrastructure of roads and difficulty getting to villa takes up a lot of travel time. If looking to experience tourist destinations in area, better get a very early start to allow drive / train time
The property is extremely charming--stone villa, large rooms, large bathroom, beautiful gardens, cozy interiors, and a superb restaurant. Staff was helpful and attentive when seen.
Awful thin mattress! Furniture dated and not in the charming sense. Reception not always opened during the day. Traveled at the end of October and it was quite cold. I had to hunt down someone to request to have the heat turned on.
Villa Barberino was just superb - we loved it. The buildings and grounds are superb. We dined at the restaurant 3 nights and it was great. Pool superb!
The immeadiate village and scenary is not stunning but drive for 15 minutes to the south down to Radda and its beautiful. Yes there is a power station just to the side view which suprised me - but seriously it has no impact on the resort.
scenery, restaurant, staff
We had an apartment and it was very spacious and comfortable and quiet at night. The villa is beautiful and so many different areas to relax in. Food was yummy and delicious Italian coffees for breakfast. Beautiful pool and lovely sun chairs to relax in. Staff were really friendly and made a lot of effort especially with my young daughter.
We had an apartment for 5 days and it was a shame they didn't offer a clean during this time, only if you paid extra. Had to pay a large extra charge for a cot. Loads of mosquitos around the villa and by the pool which ruined the relaxing a bit. The pool needed to be cleaned more regularly as it was full of bugs during the day. Such a shame about the huge powerstation at the bottom of the road up. It was a real eyesore though you can't see it from the villa itself. Could have done with more in the kitchen area. Some washing up liquid would have been nice.
Beautiful grounds. Spacious apartment. Great location.
Reception desk keep more time closed than opened Reataurant service not good Poor menu Bad food
The people were wonderful - we had a fantastic medieval evening with flag dancers and horns and a banquet under the walls of the villa with the house wine - really great.
Breakfast could have been a little better
Breakfast very poor and wifi is bad
The place are are well situated close to the Chianti scenery, Florence and the freeway to Rome. The setting is beautiful and very romantic!
location atmosphere surrounding view pool room (apartment)
the first given room was a bit noisy, right below the outside restaurant area - we were able to change with no problem and had a great room for the rest of the stay
Location - the place itself Food Room Warm and kind reception
Aircondition not effective in room Service in restaurant
The actual Villa is beautiful, typical Tuscan experience and environment, stunning cellar experience and friendly staff but the experience if you stay in the self catered environment does not match this.
We stayed in the self catered flat. The decor was not great - a single sleeper bed made the only chair in the lounge area. Mosquito's are PROLIFIC - they should tell visitors to bring repellent. The garden area outside the flat is OK - but not really to the standard of the rest of the villa. There is a lot of noise generated by the upstairs apartment which can be disturbing at night. They should offer cleaning service to the apartment as an extra.
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were fantastic and the location superb, a great way to discover Tuscany and the Chianti region. The food at night was great. This is a great location for a wedding or special location.
Breakfast could have been a little better.
Ground were very nice, and well kept. Grounds were very quiet and peaceful. Rooms were rustic but spacious and kept very clean. Property has an interesting history.
No rooms with a view. We had a junior suite , which had a unused side room which didn't have any windows! This suite also had no out door seating area. Restaurant was privately run by others, although the food was good it was limited after several nights. No other restaurant alternatives locally were available. A wedding was held during our stay, which utilised both the indoor and outdoor restaurant locations, forcing other guest to use the breakfast room for dinner. Mosquitos were a huge problem, especially around the pool area, coils or spraying would of helped. A large power station can be seen from the property.
Staff were very polite and friendly.
Some of the furniture (upholstered chair) in the apartment we were staying in did not look very clean. No flexibility in check in time.
The owners & staff are helpful and friendly; offering up places to see and eat. Their own restaurant has an amazing chef & the food was the best that we had on our entire trip! We enjoyed eating under the stars. The villa and its grounds are as beautiful as the pictures & the rooms have been renovated with modern amenities (loved the rain shower in our suite). We totally enjoyed our stay & will be back again. Thank you, Danielle & Jack
One easy fix: the pool bottom needed to be cleaned. Some areas had a bit of the green slime on the bottom.
The location and setting were very good. Able to sit outside for the evening meal. OK if staying for one night. Hotel has a 4* star rating and is in the Michelin 2014 guide but my view at best it is 3* and should probably be a 2*
Staying for four nights was a mistake. After the first evening meal which was a la carte we were offered a four course half board option. This was a disgrace. The main course was cheese on lettuce. the next evening it was breaded escalope with chips. For the last evening we opted for the a la carte, but to our dismay the choices were limited in that the menu remained the same for the four evening meals. The room was poorly equipped with only 3 hangers and no drawers. There was no air conditioning or at least a fan which was needed at the day temperature reached 97F. Bathroom accessories were very minimal and there was nowhere to place ones shower gel in the shower cubical. Also there was no bath mat which made it slippery and dangerous when stepping out of the shower on to the stone floor. Breakfast was poor with little selection.
A wonderfully peaceful picturesque place to base yourself within easy driving distance to Chianti towns and both Siena and Florence A lovely pool and surrounds to return to after sightseeing
The staff do speak some English most seem to struggle The language barrier was worst when dining at the resteraunt The food is nice but not a huge menu and a bit overpriced for what it is
The location was excellent. The setting amazing Restaurant was very good
Staff too inexperience Service was average Breakfast was very average Our room did not have a toilet paper holder or a towel rack If they fix some minor thing and get experience staff who understand the meaning of being in service it would be a great place
The main courtyard of the property was stunning and picturesque. We had dinner one night at the resort and had a beautiful meal.
The views from the main hotel were of a power plant. The apartment we rented had no AC and the mosquitos ate us alive! The apartment could have used a fresh coat of paint and some new bedding. Our blowdryer hose was torn and worked poorly. For the cost of the room we had higher expectations.

Excellent pool Area and good restaurant. Friendly staff. Private tuscan premises with the services you need.
Pricelevel is in the High end on restaurant. Birdnests on terrace
had a good pool
The suites where clean but the apartment was very dirty and no air conditioning in 29c heat with not even a fan? we arrived in the evening with six children to be told that the restuarant was closed as they had a wedding! and we had to drive around looking for somewhere else. we did complain and recieved three bottles of wine?
