Splendid location in the hills

Restaurant: low value for money

The villa was very lovely and cozy. Feels like you are in the arms of nature and a true tuscany style. Perfect view perfect host, delicious restaurant.

The heater wasn't working very well in our room.

Very quite, beatiful view, mostly recomended for young couples. very good restaurant in the Hotel, no need to get out.

There is a great view in the nature. Staffs are very kind. Breakfast was great. It's like a castle in middle ages.

The hotel staff was excellent. The airline lost our luggage and they were very helpful with having it returned to us. The breakfast was very nice and even was able to squeeze my own orange juice.

The location is a little off the beaten path. The beauty of the grounds definitely made the extra drive alot easier.

Nice over all. Especially the swimming pool in the summer.

The setting and it's Tuscan charm, if you manage to ignore the 2 ugly towers of the power station below. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very peaceful, particularly in the evening. Lovely and charming little swimming pool.

Restaurant offers very limited choice, considering that the village of Meleto offers no alternative for eating out ( not a single restaurant or bar in the village ). Very limited bar service, if you can call the pool bar a bar at all. TV has a lot of stations, but exclusively Italian ones. Not even 1 news station in English or even French.

The Villa is lovely. It has beautiful grounds and a great atmosphere. The restaurant offers lovely traditional Tuscan meals. To sit outside in the evenings is a marvelous experience. The rooms are big with simple furnishing and are clean. The gardens and pool area are lovely. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts are great as well. The villa is quiet and relaxing.

The location was not that appealing for a typical holiday location. The villa unfortunately is located at the top of an industrial area and one has to drive through this area to reach the villa. Meleto is not really appealing either. Once you wind up the hill, out of the area, the views and scenery are spectacular and offers the true Tuscan country side in Chianti.....It could be a little far for day trips as the Villa is at the start of the Chianti valley....but not too far if you make an early start and a day of it to go to Florence or Sienna or San Gimignano.

Tuscany, bellisima, outstanding, the best part of Italy and probably in world regarding agroturism! Location is good, close to chianti area ( actually this is the real tuscany). Villa itself is outstanding regarding the style, very relaxing and autonomy. Swimming pool is nice, especially in very hot days of july. Breakfast and restaurant facility perfect, service great!

Cleanliness of rooms is not so good, especially in the rooms out of main building, food is tasty but little in portion, cost of room is high vs. Overall quality.

Rural location with proffesionalism and luxury, stunning views. Great food and wine. Fantastic pool area. Excelent staff - very friendly, customer orientated, not just to pull more money from the guests.. Great value for money..

Great old villa with a well kept garden. Cozy and spacious room. Really good price and friendly staff.

One the back side of the city where the villa is located is a big power plant which draws down on the overall experience of this gret old villa.

The estate itself was nice and the staff was also extremely friendly.

For starters there is a power plant that ruins the view on one side of the estate. They fail to show that in the pictures. On the other side there is a field of dried grass with broken down machinery in it. The breakfast provided was sub par and the restaurant is only open select times of the day. You can't do wine tastings on any given day. Pretty much the only thing you could do during the day is sit by the pool. The food was absolutely phenomenal but small portions and expensive! We ended up leaving the morning after we got there.

Most of the staff were lovely. The location is beautiful and quiet, perfect if you want to relax and escape.

During our two week stay in Italy we chose to stay here for four nights. Knowing that not all accommodations in Italy come with air conditioning, we chose Villa Barberino as it specifically advertised an air conditioned room. The first night we discovered that the ac didn't in fact work, and as it was very warm, we tried to make do with the open window only to be eaten by Mosquitos and shut it. By midnight we couldn't take it Any longer and as I was 7 wks pregnant, the heat and lack of ventilation were adding to my nausea, so we called reception and found the room phone did not work. We used our international mobile to call the reception and the man we spoke to was very nice and apologetic and we requested a fan which was sent straight away. The next day we went to speak to the young lady at reception who had checked us in. She was much less sympathetic and only offered 'there's nothing I can do.' She explained that the air conditioning in the hotel does not start until the 14th June, (the day of our departure) despite advertising it as an air conditioned room. To not advise this at time of booking or at the very least at check in, is very poor. Unfortunately our experience was spoiled.

The appearance of the renovation was great.

it was all rather disappointing, poorly equipped apartment, no cleaning and some listed items (cot/highchair) not available. They seemed to have lost the will to maintain the standard they set out to achieve and there was no indication that by choosing apartment as your room type you would receive a lesser standard of service. Meleto is far from the idyllic Tuscan town and has little to offer the travelling person/group/family whilst i have to return to the exact same venue fro a conference in November i will not be staying at the Villa Barberino.

Pretty setting but pictures on site are mostly of the private owners facility and not what you will be seeing. The apartment was very large. However, due to the fact that 3 of 4 walls were underground, very cold and damp. Sheets fealt wet. Heat was not turned on until second night. Breakfast very limited and rediculous at 8 euros per person.

We appreciated the peace and tranquility of the village setting with its ample grounds and the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food.

The noisiness of the large groups with children in the restaurant at dinner

Very nice place, very friendly stuff. Rooms are big and clean. A little hard to find but no problem with GPS. Good restaurants and wine in the area.

Restaurant was good but could be better

Le très bon petit déjeuner (salade de fruits, confitures et tartes maison). La gentillesse des propriétaires et du personnel... Le restaurant pour les plats typiques et succulent!

Alloggio modesto, con bagno piccolo, arredamento assai carente... Non capisco come possa avere 4 stelle

К сожалению нас поселили в полулюксе с крошечным окном, выходящим на задворки, там даже днем было очень темно. На вилле в Тоскане , как правило, ждешь другого. Поменяли комнату с доплатой. Большая часть номеров расположена в бывших хозяйственных постройках, поэтому вы, конечно, живете на территории виллы, но не в исторических интерьерах точно. Завтраки очень скромные. Интернет почти не работал.

Quando si varca il cancello di Villa Barberino si entra in un piccolo mondo incantato nel quale si respira la storia delle donne e degli uomini che vi hanno vissuto. E' piacevolissimo passeggiare nel piccolo borgo, fra il boschetto di bambù e I curatissimi giardini all'italiana che si aprono a terrazza sulla campagna toscana. Ottima la cucina del ristorante. Consigliatissimo!

la struttura è splendida, molto ben curata nei dettagli

la pulizia della camera non è in linea con lo standard della struttura (che per tutto il resto è eccellente); la camera tuttavia si presentava adeguatamente pulita

Posizione favorevole per tour della Toscana meridionale

Ristorante di buona qualità, con scelta però limitata di menù e prezzo relativamente elevato.
