Villa Villoresi dates back to the 12th century and is set on large floral grounds in Sesto Fiorentino, just outside historic central Florence. Rooms have original frescoes and antique furniture.
Score from 193 reviews Good
Set on the 1st floor of a 19th-century building, Cimabue 9 is just outside Florence's restricted traffic area. It offers colourful rooms with free Wi-Fi and private bathroom.
Score from 46 reviews Wonderful
In a residential and commercial area next to San Donato Park, the Hilton Garden Inn is a 5-minute drive from Florence Airport and a 15-minute bus ride from the center of the city.
Score from 502 reviews Very good
Residenza La Torricella is on the hills that surround Florence, 3 miles from its historic city. It offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside.
Score from 137 reviews Excellent
Great views, wonderful breakfast and restaurant staff, really good coffee and croissants.
A little far of a walk to the bus stop. Rooms did not have individual AC. The AC was for the entire building, and they did not run it while we were there. Staying on the top floor it got a little warm at night.
This is a very comfortable family run hotel that is extremely unique. It is not far from the main attraction area in a secluded hillside area. The upper balcony's are spacious and have a wonderful view. There is plenty of room downstairs to sit in their old comfy chairs in 3 lounge areas. There is a swiming pool and very atractive grounds that would be great in the hotter months. The staff are very a commodating. Loved our stay here.
The location and views were wonderful. The elderly couple that tended the desk were very polity and we heard them speak many languages.
The younger of the two gentlemen that worked the front desk was the rudest Italian hotel staff I have ever encountered. He kept threatening us with a police visit because we had U.S. passport cards instead of U.S. passports. We are in Italy 5 times a year and always take the passport card because we are residents of the EU (we showed him our EU identity cards as well). Needless to say, he returned our passport cards without a visit from the police or an apology at his threats. He refused to have someone fix our television which was physically broken because he felt we just didn't know how to operate it (if it is that difficult then leave instructions). The first time we ordered a taxi we walked to the street and met it. The second time we ordered a taxi we walked to the street again and he came running after us shouting that we had to wait at the front door for the taxi and we weren't allowed to walk to the street. There was a lot of mold in the bathrooms, the wallpaper was dirty and peeling away and we could hear EVERY bodily function of the person in the room above us. Whoever said the breakfast was impressive does not travel much. The only rolls were white and you could barely bite through them, there was only type of cheese and two types of meat, there were no vegetables available (very unusual in Italy), and there were two very boring cakes for sweets. I have gotten much better breakfasts at Holiday Inn Express in the U.S. and Europe. The pool had chairs around it and was very clean but the gates were locked. We saw above-mentioned hotel clerk escorting an older woman with a book out of the pool area.
We had an outstanding stay here. The view overlooking the rooftops of florence from the balcony was exceptional. We chose villa belvedere becuase we had a car and did not want to have any car issues in florence with the ltz. The location was perfect. The turndown service was a nice touch.
We enjoyed the location and the green quiet neighbourhood. Brakefeast was ok and the staff was helpfull.
We could not sleep welldue to some alarm going on for hours from somewhere in the hotel and the rooms have little to none izolation so one can hear the other people even talking softly.
This was our second trip to Firenze and we did not like it the first time. We stayed here in a lovely room overlooking the city...we loved it. The outside balcony was large with a candle on the table to enhance our wonderful views of the city.
Views from the hotel are spectacular. Make sure to get a room with a balcony. We did not and only realized afterward what we were missing! We paid A LOT for a room that faced the back.
Pretty far from the sites in Florence. We loved the walk in the morning but by evening, it was a long hike uphill!
It's a nice place and very beautiful. Room were very nicely decorated and double door kept out the lobby noise. Felt upscale. Good breakfast.
No AC! Which means you must open the windows. I would not mind that except that allows the mosquitos and noise to come in and make it difficult to sleep. Even when the windows and doors were closed, I could smell cigarette oder seeping into my room.
Old world charm! Delightful find close to central Milan.
Shower spray was sub-optimal.
Quiet neighbor, peaceful gardens, old world charm ... a wonderful place to get away from the crowds, yet just a short walk and you are in the middle of things. Especially appreciate Nurane, who was a whirlwind of service with a sense of humor.
wi-fi signal not always good
Great location, if your up for it you can easily walk into Florence.
Place is a bit tried & the bed was the worst one we have slept in
the situation, the service, the breakfasts and the courteous staff.....lovely
Great quiet location out of the bussel of the city but only 15 minutes by the city bus to main attractions and 20 minutes to train station for convience. Lovely to have a balcony with the view of the city and Duomo. Good breakfast and really helpful, friendly staff.
Mattress too hard for a comfy night's sleep. Air con only available when temperature above 22 degrees.
The view of the Duomo from our room and the beautiful pool deck. This place is a 1.5 euro and 10min ride to town. Lots of car parking so leave it at the hotel. The staff is outstanding. The gentleman at the front deck gave me some interesting history about the Medici tunnels under the river, highlighted every bus stop on a nice clear map. The bartender told us of towns to see on the way to Pisa and was very helpful. It is everything you see and more in the pictures. My kids could head back and hang by the pool while I did siteseeing. Everybody was happy!
I liked everything!
The room, location and hotel staff attention.
Their was nothing we disliked.
Staff formally dressed and attentive.
Decor a little jaded and stuck in a slight time warp, not necessarily a bad thing though. service excellent!
helpfull staff, beautiful garden, great views, nice swimming pool, it is indeed quite far to the city centre (around 25 minutes walking) but I did not mind walking since I chose far location on purpose
walls need extra sound-proof (some guests were loudly coming back at night and it was hard to sleep), taxi costs around 15 eur to the city centre
The quiet location and the friendly, helpful staff who gave good advice on where to find restaurants downtown and how to get there by car or by a frequent regular bus service. Comfortable rooms.
A beautiful garden
The shower at bathroom was not a mobile.
Free car parking Excellent service Lovely Grounds and swimming pool Quaint, independent, family run hotel Superb, friendly, professional staff Lovely touches - turn-down service, extras such as free water, boiled sweets in room
it is a bit old fashioned but this also adds to it's charm - electrics can be a little temperamental. Could do with a mini fridge - particularly in hot weather Need more pillows!
A bit far out of town for walking, but on the other hand a beautiful place to retreat to after seeing the city. Particular mention must be made of the friendly, professional and service minded staff. All of them.
This hotel was like staying at someone's home in another era. The staff was extremely kind & friendly. They carried our cocktails to the pool, remembered our coffe orders each morning and turned down our beds each night. They also carried our bags to & from the hotel room. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the tourist area. But that also means a quiet nights rest. The bus stop is close by & cabs are easy to get. Loved it and would visit again given the chance.
Attention to detail. Personal touches in the room. Friendly and attentive staff and owners. Unbelievable view from the front room balcony. Quaint pool area and gardens.
We visited in July and the pool and garden was lovely to come back too for a couple of hours in the afternoon. The staff were excellent and lots of nice touches made our stay very enjoyable.
whilst having to jump on a bus or get a taxi back to the hotel could be considered a negative it wasn't in this case as it allowed access to a pool, parking (easy to drive to hotel from the outskirts) and tranquility - all of which you would not get in a city centre hotel in Florence.
The view the view and the view! Sitting on the terrace at sunset looking down on Duomo is perfect. Being away from the city also means tranquility.
Public transport navigating to and from the hotel to the main sites is not the easiest and a taxi is around 10 euros. Walking downhill is fine and a nice start to the day
