Offering views of Arno River and Ponte Vecchio, the 4-star Hotel Berchielli is centrally located in Florence, on the riverfront. It serves a varied breakfast buffet including many local products.
Score from 449 reviews Excellent
In a 17th-century Florentine palace, the Paris is a luxury boutique hotel featuring fresco ceilings and stained glass windows. It is 320 yards from Florence Cathedral.
Score from 1202 reviews Very good
Offering refined accommodations just 440 yards from Santa Maria Novella train station, the Grand Hotel Adriatico is in central Florence, a 10-minute walk from Florence’s Duomo.
Score from 1192 reviews Very good
Villa Betania is a small, family-managed hotel in a green park, only a 20 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence. The area has great bus services.
Score from 377 reviews Very good
Everything about it.
A hotel that made us instantly feel at home. Elegant yet unpretentious.
Wi-fi cut out constantly. No mini bar in hotel room.
Room very comfortable. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Shower needs to be much stronger
Large corner room with terrace. Lovely residential area with great pool area and panoramic view of Duomo and areas of Florence. Good food for breakfast and dinner.
The walking distance to crossing the river into heart of Florence or even Pitti Palace area was longer than expected with the return to hotel all up hill. Call a taxi for at least one way since even if you have a car you must find parking across the river for the majority of the day.
Perfect location, just outside the city - 20 minute walk. Would advise taking cab or bus back thoughts all uphill. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. We had room 26 - it was great. Breakfast very good, plenty of choice. Good quality food and freshly prepared eggs to your tastes. Rooms large, facilities perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Nothing worth a mention!
Location Easy access Parking good and free Quiet and easy reach of centre 30 mins walk downtown Nice views towards Duomo Breakfast
Beds and pillows a bit uncomfortable Lunch snacks poor
Relatively close to public transportation. Staff will make the required advance reservations for Palazzo Vecchia secret tour and for Brancacci Chapel. You save euros not having to use a ticket agent. Lots of free parking on site.
Air conditioning temperature is set by owners not to go below 21 degrees celcius. If you leave a window open for cool air during the night be prepared to be bitten by mosquitos. The rooms do not have a mini bar. Hotel does not have a restaurant.
We chose the Villa Belvedere because it was outside of Florence and therefore more relaxing and quiet than a downtown hotel. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, though the bathroom is not too user friendly.
We arrived before dinner, and the staff was not helpful at all in finding a place to eat. When we asked if they had a restaurant, since we had just come off a long flight, they directed us vaguely toward a place there might be a restaurant, neglecting to tell us that they did have "snack service" which would have been perfect. Also, many of the amenities, i.e., hair dryer and TV are really vintage and need updating.
Great views, wonderful breakfast and restaurant staff, really good coffee and croissants.
A little far of a walk to the bus stop. Rooms did not have individual AC. The AC was for the entire building, and they did not run it while we were there. Staying on the top floor it got a little warm at night.
This is a very comfortable family run hotel that is extremely unique. It is not far from the main attraction area in a secluded hillside area. The upper balcony's are spacious and have a wonderful view. There is plenty of room downstairs to sit in their old comfy chairs in 3 lounge areas. There is a swiming pool and very atractive grounds that would be great in the hotter months. The staff are very a commodating. Loved our stay here.
The location and views were wonderful. The elderly couple that tended the desk were very polity and we heard them speak many languages.
The younger of the two gentlemen that worked the front desk was the rudest Italian hotel staff I have ever encountered. He kept threatening us with a police visit because we had U.S. passport cards instead of U.S. passports. We are in Italy 5 times a year and always take the passport card because we are residents of the EU (we showed him our EU identity cards as well). Needless to say, he returned our passport cards without a visit from the police or an apology at his threats. He refused to have someone fix our television which was physically broken because he felt we just didn't know how to operate it (if it is that difficult then leave instructions). The first time we ordered a taxi we walked to the street and met it. The second time we ordered a taxi we walked to the street again and he came running after us shouting that we had to wait at the front door for the taxi and we weren't allowed to walk to the street. There was a lot of mold in the bathrooms, the wallpaper was dirty and peeling away and we could hear EVERY bodily function of the person in the room above us. Whoever said the breakfast was impressive does not travel much. The only rolls were white and you could barely bite through them, there was only type of cheese and two types of meat, there were no vegetables available (very unusual in Italy), and there were two very boring cakes for sweets. I have gotten much better breakfasts at Holiday Inn Express in the U.S. and Europe. The pool had chairs around it and was very clean but the gates were locked. We saw above-mentioned hotel clerk escorting an older woman with a book out of the pool area.
We had an outstanding stay here. The view overlooking the rooftops of florence from the balcony was exceptional. We chose villa belvedere becuase we had a car and did not want to have any car issues in florence with the ltz. The location was perfect. The turndown service was a nice touch.
We enjoyed the location and the green quiet neighbourhood. Brakefeast was ok and the staff was helpfull.
We could not sleep welldue to some alarm going on for hours from somewhere in the hotel and the rooms have little to none izolation so one can hear the other people even talking softly.
This was our second trip to Firenze and we did not like it the first time. We stayed here in a lovely room overlooking the city...we loved it. The outside balcony was large with a candle on the table to enhance our wonderful views of the city.
Views from the hotel are spectacular. Make sure to get a room with a balcony. We did not and only realized afterward what we were missing! We paid A LOT for a room that faced the back.
Pretty far from the sites in Florence. We loved the walk in the morning but by evening, it was a long hike uphill!
It's a nice place and very beautiful. Room were very nicely decorated and double door kept out the lobby noise. Felt upscale. Good breakfast.
No AC! Which means you must open the windows. I would not mind that except that allows the mosquitos and noise to come in and make it difficult to sleep. Even when the windows and doors were closed, I could smell cigarette oder seeping into my room.
Old world charm! Delightful find close to central Milan.
Shower spray was sub-optimal.
Quiet neighbor, peaceful gardens, old world charm ... a wonderful place to get away from the crowds, yet just a short walk and you are in the middle of things. Especially appreciate Nurane, who was a whirlwind of service with a sense of humor.
wi-fi signal not always good
Great location, if your up for it you can easily walk into Florence.
Place is a bit tried & the bed was the worst one we have slept in
the situation, the service, the breakfasts and the courteous staff.....lovely
Great quiet location out of the bussel of the city but only 15 minutes by the city bus to main attractions and 20 minutes to train station for convience. Lovely to have a balcony with the view of the city and Duomo. Good breakfast and really helpful, friendly staff.
Mattress too hard for a comfy night's sleep. Air con only available when temperature above 22 degrees.
The view of the Duomo from our room and the beautiful pool deck. This place is a 1.5 euro and 10min ride to town. Lots of car parking so leave it at the hotel. The staff is outstanding. The gentleman at the front deck gave me some interesting history about the Medici tunnels under the river, highlighted every bus stop on a nice clear map. The bartender told us of towns to see on the way to Pisa and was very helpful. It is everything you see and more in the pictures. My kids could head back and hang by the pool while I did siteseeing. Everybody was happy!
I liked everything!
The room, location and hotel staff attention.
Their was nothing we disliked.
Staff formally dressed and attentive.
Decor a little jaded and stuck in a slight time warp, not necessarily a bad thing though. service excellent!
helpfull staff, beautiful garden, great views, nice swimming pool, it is indeed quite far to the city centre (around 25 minutes walking) but I did not mind walking since I chose far location on purpose
walls need extra sound-proof (some guests were loudly coming back at night and it was hard to sleep), taxi costs around 15 eur to the city centre
