Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a large garden, Villa Del Sole is set amidst the Tuscan countryside, just 3 km from the historic centre of San Gimignano.

Housed in an elegant, 14th-century building La Cisterna is in a picturesque, namesake square in the heart of San Gimignano. The rooms offer air conditioning and a flat-screen satellite TV.
Score from 374 reviews Very good
Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During the summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace.
Score from 593 reviews Wonderful

Initial greeting from staff was very odd. When I said that we had a booking, I was greeting with a repeated 'No" and nothing else. Very strange. Other staff were helpful.
People were lovely, the young man that greeted us on arrival was most helpful, the view from our balcony of the Tuscan hills was superb. Dinner in the evening was much appreciated.
The walk up to the walled city was very steep. but it was reasonably close, about 500 mtrs
Very nice staff. Hotel had a nice restaurant.
Rooms a little small and dated.
Very pet friendly but did not smell like dogs. Free and easy parking. Small fridge in room. Friendly staff. Convenient to city- very east walk.
Decor and furnishings outdated. Had trouble with a/c at one point our room was quite hot. Mosquitoes were too bad to leave balcony open. Resolved it ourselves and temperature was fine afterwards. Small fridge generated a lot of heat.
location great..few minutes walk to old town. parking free . good choice for breakfast. gardens and pool for relaxing. great villages to visit. found it ok. family run and welcoming. had nice meal at hotel and was good value.
I was very enjoyable and my wife had a problem with the stairs and we got a down stairs room right away which was very good.
The hotel was perfectly located near San Gimignano, so we could stroll into town to see the sights and have dinner. The pool was well used by our kids (12 and 8) and we'd definitely stay again.
The hotel is a little dated and we all slept in the same room. However, this in no way impacted on our experience and the price reflected these elements. We were very happy staying here.
Location - easy walking distance of the historic center- , car parking and staff.
The breakfast room .
Location and service
A bit tired and in need of a refurbishment
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and charming building. Would recommend a visit to this hotel
Nothing to dislike
It was close to the old town! 5 min walk!
Rooms were very small!
the atmosphere, the quiet, the restaurant and the terrace. Great location just a few klms away from the historical center.
No view from room
Excellent little Hotel very Friendly Staff
Setting and presentation excellent. Bathroom excellent. Staff friendly and helpful even though English not easiest of languages. Location means can see San Gimi' in the evening when it is at its best
Mosquitos. Room had plug in so OK but forgot to use spray when went for breakfast in the garden.
helpful friendly staff, great location ,great views ,lovely pool and gardens
would liked to have stayed longer .
The location was very good being just a short walk away from the town. The views were of wonderful open Tuscan countryside. The pool was also a great bonus offering a nice dip on a hot afternoon. The breakfast was good and atken outside on the terrace. The room was very spacious and the essential air conditioning was well up to the task. Cleanliness throughout the whole hotel was very very good.
It wasn't a problem for us but if you are not too mobile the 5 minute walk to town is up a continuous gradient. I certainly would not mark the hotel down for this but it is something that some people may need to consider.
Nice breakfast area with great tuscan views. Clean and spacious room.
A bit pricey.
The room was a very good size and came with a useful fridge for keeping water cold. The pool was nice and clean, and relatively quiet during our stay. Breakfast was simple but good. The walk into town took only ten mins up a slight hill so positioning was excellent. The hotel overlooked a beautiful valley filled with vineyards, olive groves and dotted with villas. The gardens were also lovely and lent this hotel some seclusion from the road and nearby buildings. The guy on reception in the afternoon was especially helpful with sorting out onward travel arrangements.
The bed was quite hard and we struggled to have a good nights sleep whilst we were there, however that appears to be consistent with the other hotels we have stayed in during our trip. The Italians must seem to like an extra firm mattress!
our second year visiting and we will definitely book again for next year.
Nice pool Short walk up into town with a good pizza place, supermarket, and laundry near by Although some staff couldn't speak much english, he tried his best in an emergency
Breakfast was okay but was limited, not a huge choice Air conditioning didn't work that well
Great location. Nice swimming pool. Welcoming owners. Splendid views. Proximity of just about everything. Want to go there again!
Take some mosquito repellent. But these buggers seem to have infested the whole country.
The location was great to visit Tuscany and only 10 minute walk from San Gimignano. Room was small, but very clean. Staff was very friendly. The view over the hills was great. Refreshing pool. Breakfast was limited but good.
wifi in the morning and evening slow, but during the day there was no problem.
Beds and pillows old and uncomfortable. Lots of mosquitoes inside and out.
