Grand Hotel Capodimonte is a 15-minute walk from the Materdei Metro Station, and just 215 yards from exit number 5 off the A56 highway that goes through Naples.
Score from 59 reviews Good
Convenient location for the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte. Friendly and helpful staff in the hotel. Clean and spacious room.
Limited number of places to eat nearby. The hotel restaurant: It was very cold and served probably the worst risotto in Italy and a dish of scialatelli when paccheri was ordered.
Everything was good
No cell phone signal. Strength of WiFi poor or inexistent in rooms. Rooms in the basement are not pleasant. The only view is to an underground patio.
The grounds were attractive
No snacks, nothing around hotel to see or to dine. Not safe to walk out of gate we were told.
I specifically asked for a balcone with a view of Vesuvio so I could write. I am am artist. I also booked the hotel as it was advertised as having wifi. I could not connect and therefore could not do the research required for my meetings in the city. Each day hey refused to move me to a different room even though guests had vacated the alternative rooms each day. The trip to Napoli I had planned for 10 months was ruined. On the final day they also refused to drive me into town in the very old mini when I was told they had picked up other people from the airport free of charge. This hotel is a 20-30 minute drive from town. I found the manager to be rude and unhelpful. The worst hotel I have stayed in in all Italia.
Nice bedrooms, impressive hotel (looks like an old castle inside)
No towels, isolated location, expensive good in hotel, rude staff
relatively close to airport
old furnishings and ugly restaurant
The rooms are very big and clean.
The hotel is not so near the city center. If you come by car you have to be a good driver because the streets are very small. In the night I could hear the airplanes. Breakfast was really bad. Sometimes the staff doesn't speak english very well. It depends on who is helping you.
Beautiful garden, quiet and peaceful, clean air (no mosquitoes!). Stunning views over city and sea. Very comfortable beds. Safe enclosed parking. Extremely helpful staff. An excellent choice overall, very convenient for getting to the airport.
Food was a bit fancy - the menu options were more upmarket (and expensive) than usual restaurant food - but not as delicious as we've had elsewhere (and we're Italian). Coffee at breakfast time was far removed from proper Italian espresso/cappuccino. More like an average office coffee machine. In the bathroom, the shower flooded the floor, very slippery (no bathmat provided).
Friendly reception in a modern hotel surrounded by green - ideally located to visit Capodimonte sights.
Very nice surrounding and garden. Quiet! Generaly was nice hotel очень красивое и тихое место. Красивый отель
the room was not fresh- there was the smell of damp. В комнате до невозможности воняло сыростью. Номер был не свеж! За сутки провонялись и мы и наши вещи!
close to the city center but still outside, so it is clean and having private parking. Western full breakfast. reception assistance (Emilia) was great.
We enjoyed the hotel very much. Stayed one night on way to Ravello.
Quite a journey from airport for one night stay.
View from the roof terrace.
Hotel is situated on the age of a slum housing area. Once in you either stay there or have to travel into town by car. We walked and while not far it is anything but pleasant. Also a four star restaurant should not be serving potato chips with steak (these are the thin slices of potato fried and sold in packets...called chips in the US and crisps in the UK) Wifi also hopeless.
Staff were helpful. Lovely big room and good bathroom. Breakfast was more than adequate. Location convenient for airport.
Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Was traveling by myself and location felt safe, in a neighborhood, only ten minute walk to museum. It was also quiet so had a good night's sleep after a long flight.
Location short taxi ride from airport, quiet area with nice view over the city, friendly staff, large and clean room, good breakfast
