I stayed at Cecilia 4 nights, 5-9 August 2014 in room 12 (single incl bf) for eur180 incl city tax - great choice if you are on a tight budget - you can still stay in a lovely property - more like a B&B or villa but with friendly, helpful service. Room was simple - no tv, aircon or fridge - but luckily temps were around 22-28 celcius each day and the cool evening breezes kept the room very comfortable. I slept really well. I loved the breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, boiled eggs and sour dough bread - great to get some healthy options rather than just cake and cornetti for 90 days straight ... Cecilia is a good 1.5km from the port of Ischia - you can walk with small roller bag as I did but I would suggest you catch taxi or number 7 bus (get off at Bar Violetta) from the port with larger bags. From the hotel it is only 300m walk to the beach and 10 min walk to the fantastic Castello Aragonese (definitely go and visit the castle -EUR10 entry but you need at least 2-3 hours as it is a lot bigger than it appears from the outside - and the views are spectacular). Personally, I loved the location. The Port area is too crazy busy and was not at all relaxing. The area around the Castello is somewhat removed from that although you can walk there if you want to. I enjoyed jumping off the rocks near the Castello and swimming with all the locals rather than the insane lidos on the beach near the port. It was a much more authentic holiday ... Note - I also found a fabulous Pub, Auras, on the waterfront near the Castello serving great burgers, panini, bruschetta and other pub dinners at very inexpensive prices for huge meals with a fantastic view of the Castello. Most of the guests seemed to be locals watching soccer and sport on the big screen which I also enjoyed. (After 3 months of pasta and pizza I was thrilled to have a burger with excellent wedges ;-) ) Good choice on a pricey island ... albeit nowhere near as expensive as Capri!!
I loved it all.
The position of the place is ideal to go around the island as well as enjoy the town (since it's located in between Ischia harbour and Ischia Ponte). It's quiet and clean, breakfast is yummy and the staff very nice! Absolutely recommended.
Internet connection is poor (but they were trying to fix it while we were there). Also, there is no hairdryer in the bedrooms, but you can borrow one from reception, so it's really a very minor thing!
