The hotel was quiet and in a lovely location. The service at dinner was terrible. We waited nearly an hour to be served. Others were waiting an hour between courses. It was a shame as it let the hotel down.

Lovely villa retreat with helpful staff and beautiful surrounds. "Gym" not so, very difficult to get anywhere if you don't have a car.

I loved everything about the hotel - the place, the villa, proximity to Pisa, Florence, Lucca. There is a road nearby. You cannot hear it from the hotel but it would be nice if the villa was far from any roads, cars, etc - just my vision of holidays in Toskany:)

Beautiful villa-like building in pleasant surroundings just a few minutes outside of Lucca. Affable staff. Comfortable and very clean room that easily accomodated two adults and two boys. Our family room on the third floor was plenty big enough for four people but the ceiling had a large wooden beam that descended down over one of the single beds, causing us to repeatedly bang our head. Nothing serious but a hazard for adults or taller kids.

Very friendly people let us feel welcome. They were uncomplicated, flexible and helpful with our small children (2 and 4 years old). The old buildings, the rooms, the garden and the pool are very nice and authentically styled. There is not much you can do in the direct surrounding of the hotel, it is even hard to find some paths for a short walk outside. You always need to take the car. In Italy, breakfast is not celebrated as much as elsewhere. Against this background, the breakfast offered in Villa Cheli is ok.

The Hotel Building was awesome and with the pool ugrade which was extremely well done and a good reason why we chose the place to stay. The staff were helpful, friendly and it was a bit like coming home after our day of travel. We enjopyed our stay and extended it to 4 days. We would return and it was very good value for money. I would suggest adding boiled eggs to the breakfast buffet otherwise it was an excellent all round stay. Ann and Michael Toronto Canada. The hairdryer should be more powerful. I had to use my own but the outlets were so far away it was difficult to see what I was doing, reaching only half of the mirror. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and nothing else to comment on.

Villa Cheli is an impressive property superbly placed for exploring the nearby town of Lucca. It has an excellent outside swimming pool and terrace. We enjoyed an amazing evening meal in the hotel restaurant from the set menu, a fantastic taste of Italy. The breakfast was very disappointing. Our triple room was on the top floor, spacious and very clean but with only velux roof windows which although alllowing in plenty of light, made the room feel a little bit bleak. We would have enjoyed windows you could look out of. An air conditioning unit cooled the room but was only a few inches from the third bed, making a very noisy night for its occupant.

We had a Lovely bedroom which had aircondition. Nice pool. Out door dining area. Some of the staff were very helpful. Our stay at Villa Cheli was for a wedding in Lucca. We booked 5 bedrooms and 1 apartment. Three of the bedrooms were lovely. However the other 2 on the third floor had only a very small window. The 3rd floor is really in the roof of the Villa and the bedrooms were unacceptable. The apartment was also very small and not suitable for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We had a famly meal in the hotel one night. The food was OK but the service was dreadful.

The best part of the hotel was the pool. The scenery was stunning. Very remote, could not walk anywhere as no foothpaths. If staying again I would hire a car. Room was not cleaned while we stayed there. Staff not overly helpful or friendly. Villa is more family orientated.

Everyone at the Villa Chelli was friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the stay so much and truly hated to leave. I will certainly stay here again. It was the perfect location for the things we wanted to see and do. Thanks to all the staff for their help and kindness and their welcoming attitude.
